It is once again a pleasure to welcome you to our Family Event Sale. Sitting down to write the annual sale letter seems to be a necessary evil to wrapping up a sale catalog that represents an offering that we have worked years and generations to assemble. It’s funny how time changes ones perspective and priorities. This year, as we sent Sammi off to college and Jaxon starts high school it’s pretty easy to look back at all the blessings we have received and our wonderful Shorthorn friends that we call family. As our business ventures grow and our industry involvent increases, it’s pretty easy to say that our true love and passion will always be with Shorthorn cattle and the great people involved. We are extremely proud of the cattle represented on the following pages but are equally as thankful for our loyal customers and friends that have worked so hard to make this breed what it is today. We would also like to take this opportunity to thank the American Shorthorn Association and the ASA Board of Directors for selecting dad as the honoree for the 2017 Doug Schrag National Shorthorn Show this year in Louisville. Dad spent his entire life raising and loving Shorthorn cattle and has no doubt left the same desire and commitment in his son and grandson and grandaughter. Royal Revival is one of the most impressive females on the place. She is the dam of our up and coming herd bull, The Judge, who was used heavily this spring. I love these Revivals. They always produce highly marketable cattle that are so modern in kind. There is never any “what ifs” with a Revival. They are deep sided, soft made, smooth shouldered and impeccable in their structure. There is no question the Revival resurgence is on and you are going to want to be on board! Ocean and Desert Mirage are full sisters to the very popular strawberry roan May heifer, Hope’s Mirage that sold last year to Don and Kathy St. Ledger. These two full sibs represent our most anticipated mating of the year. With the success of Hope’s Mirage, we were hopeful that lightning would strike again, and it did twice!
