WCS emphasizes raising cattle that will perform in every facet of the industry. Whether it is the cow calf operation, yearling operation or selling your calves on the rail. We take great pride in the advancement of our herd to add value and advancement in your herd. We strive to raise great cows with good dispositions, great feet and legs superb udders and offspring that will add performance and carcass quality to your herd. We don’t take this task on with a light heart. Contact us when you start marketing your calves as we will reach out to some of our contacts to help market your cattle.
We had the privilege of exhibiting the Reserve champion Purebred Pen of 3 heifers again this year all ET sisters out of the 6019D donor cow. They were Reserve last year as calves. We will be selling choice of these heifers this year. There are several opportunities to add her genetics throughout the sale. WCS is adding a new feature to the sale in the horse division. A few years ago WCS bought and trained Frenchmans Kruz and added several outstanding mares to our program. It is now time to share with you our hard work and dedication to produce a performance horse that is more than one dimensional. They can be used on the ranch, in the rodeo and show pen or wherever you want to go with them. We concentrate on trainable smart athletic horses that can win and help you complete a long day of work.
Thank you to all our friends and family that helped us throughout the year.
We also want to say thank you to Tyler Morava for all of his dedication and hard work he puts in for us.
Jock, Skye and I are very proud of our cattle and horses. We treasure our friendships with all of you and our future friendships. Stop by and look at the bulls and heifers prior to the sale. We look forward to seeing you all sale day and serving you a great beef dinner prior to the sale.

Bulls were given 7-Way and MultiMin 90 at birth. At branding they were given Inforce, 7-Way with Somnus and Once-PMH In. At preconditioning they were given Once-PMH In, 7-Way with Somnus and Bovi-Shield Gold at weaning, Dectromax and Nasalgen 3 PMH, then later poured with CleanUp. Bulls were then poured again with Ivomec when they were semen tested. The bred heifers are under the same herd health and vaccination protocol. They have also received their Guardian shots.

The strong willed and resilient personalities owned by Jock and Brenda Beeson is the reason they are where they are today. Like many ranchers, grit and determination is what it takes and the unwillingness to take the word NO or accept the word CAN’T never enters the mind. The couple can be taken as brash and opinionated at times, but I am not sure that there are two people more willing to help or express compassion for those in the same business. For all that they have endured over the past decade with natural disasters, health battles, and the adoption of the next generation, both have significant and mindless desires to assist others in need or to support a fellow ranching competitor.
It’s people like those in the Beeson union who make ranching a pleasure everywhere. Knowing that your neighbor prioritizes your best interests and your family’s well-being over their own, that someone wants you to succeed regardless of competition, or that someone is ready to send you a load of hay or feed and cover the trucking costs during a drought or after a natural disaster, is simply priceless. This mindset defines the individuals behind the Western Cattle Source program. They support numerous fellow breeders and cattlemen throughout the year without expecting anything in return. If they spot a bull or female that could enhance their program, they will go to great lengths to acquire it or find a way to make it happen. They know no limits in wishing success for others, and judging by this sale offering, it appears their actions of paying it forward are at work.
We believe that this is the very best set of cattle offered by Brenda, Jock, and Skye. The pedigrees are right; the cattle fit the mold and have the ability to adapt to any challenges they may encounter and to acclimate wherever they roam. Skeletal integrity and quality must be prioritized in the harsh Northwest Nebraska ranching environment for not just longevity but survival as well. Both the bulls and females have been sorted for any issues that arise and then assessed for quality and performance thereafter. Inventory on the ranch is expected to breed back rapidly and produce calves of suitable size to maintain profitability for the operation. They manage the working cow herd like a progressive commercial outfit with a zero-excuse policy, which is the main reason the program has improved so quickly. They understand their clientele and know what is expected of their product when it leaves the ranch, and that, my friends, is what drives the WCS prefix to remain aggressive and proactive in their management practices.
We would like for everyone to consider this an invitation to the annual event in Crawford, Nebraska at the ranch headquarters. The sale setting is in the totally enclosed pavilion on the ranch, so rain, snow, or shine, your buying experience will be comfortable and hospitable. Please reach out to any of the family, the ranch team, or the Innovation AgMarketing staff for inquiries about the top-shelf offering from Western Cattle Source.
Please enjoy the cattle and may God bless America and continue watch over those that ensure us the freedoms that we have and enjoy.

The bulls at Western Cattle Source are developed on a pelleted supplement designed to be fed in combination with ranch-raised hay. The goal is to deliver a low calorie but digestible diet that has a proper amino acid balance with extra detail given to the amount and the ratio of all vitamins and trace minerals essential to superior performance. The result from this program are bulls that are hard muscled and durable with big testicles that consistently pass fertility evaluations with flying colors. Be confident in the livestock raised at Western Cattle Source to fulfill all of your seedstock demands. -Josh Mlnarik
