Reflecting on the Past Year
The month of November brought us many things that we look forward to, such as cooler weather, deer season, Thanksgiving, and NAILE. This year at NAILE the Deck the Stalls fundraiser was an absolute success. We had many different types of items donated by gracious donors and purchased by amazing supporters. As always, this fundraiser was an absolute blast! You could just feel the love for the breed standing in the stalls. On behalf of the Junior board and all junior members, I would like to say Thank You to anyone that purchased or donated items for the Deck the Stalls Extravaganza fundraiser. It wasn’t just November that was a blast, it was the entire year in general. As I sit back and reflect on the past year as an AJSA board member, I realize just how much of a family breed this is. We came together to have the first ever Cattlemen’s Congress in Oklahoma City. We had the best National Junior Shorthorn Show ever in Louisville, Kentucky. The Summit in Amarillo, Texas was an absolute success for our juniors, and the ASA Annual Meeting was great as we began the celebration of our 150th anniversary. So, ending the year with NAILE was like icing on the cake.
As we are ending the year, it is safe to say it was a good one for our association but the next year is going to be even better. We hope to see everyone at the 2022 Cattlemen’s Congress, as well as Fort Worth Stock Show. I am so excited about the 2022 Junior National Shorthorn Show and Youth Conference in Kansas City, Missouri. It is going to be “Out of This World” and we hope to see everyone there, we know it will be the best one yet.
It was a great year and there are many more great years to come. On behalf of the Junior board and myself, I would like to wish everyone a Happy 150th Anniversary and a Happy Holiday. See =you in Oklahoma City in January!
