Style. Soft. Sound. Hairy. These are just a few words that NA MCE describe this heifer. The minute this one hit the ground, NA $CEZ she has been a favorite here. This one is so soft and bold in her rib, yet she’s stylish, good footed and sound. Did I NA $F mention HAIR you can not ask for better hair than this NA $BMI one. It is no coincidence that three of the top spring born bulls at JSF are either sons or grandsons of 68K. Her last years Gauge heifer calf sold at the top of Durham Nation 2012. We have retained every daughter since, both natural and ET. 68K is a huge middled, powerful cow with great balance and eye appeal, not to mention a remote pedigree. Her production with limited flushing has been outstanding. Her daughters and their production are a further testament to her value. As many in the Shorthorn family know, we only flush one or two cows a year from our program. This one has earned the right and not let us down three years in a row. The majority of embryos we put in this past year were out of 68K. We fully expect the resulting progeny to headline Durham Nation 2014 and Durhams in the Dakotas 2015.

Her volume, smoothness, and fluidity of movement would put her in an elite group of donor females of the breed. Her solid egg production enables us to share in her genetics. Mating her with two of the most exciting and popular outcross bulls of the breed today creates an unique buying opportunity. Dual purpose is a term from the 70’s that we don’t hear much anymore.
