MARKET & BREEDING GOAT DIVISION • Open to SD residents 21 and under as of Jan 1 and all enrolled SD 4-H members. • $5 per head entry fee and $5 per animal per pen • Enter Thursday Noon - 1 p.m. • Show will begin at 3 p.m. Thursday • Goats will be stalled- west side of 4-H complex • Ownership as of June 1 • All Market goats MUST have a scrapie tag. • Market Wethers and Market Does will show separate by weight and compete for Champion Market Goat Overall. • Does may only show as Market or Breeding but NOT both. • Jackpot Showmanship will follow the show. LIVESTOCK DIVISIONS SHEEP DIVISION SD SUMMER SPOTLIGHT MARKET LAMB SHOW • Open to SD residents 21 and under as of Jan. 1, 2016 and all enrolled SD 4-H members • Jackpot Showmanship will follow the show. • $10 per head entry fee and $5 per head per pen fee • Enter 9-1 p.m. on Friday, July 22nd • Show will begin at 8 a.m. on Saturday, July 23rd • Sheep will be on west side of 4-H complex • Ownership as of June 1 • Lambs will show by breeds in the following order: 1. Southdown 4. Wool Breeds 7. Natural Color 2. Dorset 5. Hampshire 8. Crossbred 3. Speckle Face 6. Suffolk • Each division needs at least 5 head to show. LIVESTOCK DIVISIONS SWINE DIVISION • Open to SD residents 21 and under as of Jan.1 • All exhibitors under 8 years old must have a personal supervisor in the show ring. • Ownership as of June 1 • Hogs will be divided into four divisions ---Prospect Gilts (under 230) ---Market Gilts (230 and above) ---Prospect Barrows (under 230) ---Market Barrows (230 and above) To qualify for Champion awards in the market division hogs must weigh 290 or under. • All hogs will be shown by breeds Each breed with at least five head in the division will have their own class; all others will be shown as Other Pure Breeds. • Division Champions $100, Reserves $50 • Breed Champions $50, Reserves $25 • The show will be begin with Showmanship at 7:30 a.m. July 24th • Entry Fee - $10 per hog and $5 per pen • No pre-entry required. Fee paid at check -in. • All hogs must be weighed and entered between 12:00 – 4:00 p.m. July 23rd • All hogs will be released after the show. • Non-Terminal show • Health Papers Required . • All Purebred pigs must have registration papers at the show to qualify to be shown in purebred classes, if not they will be shown in the crossbred division.
