Somewhere, along suburbia’s evolution, much of the best was lost. Lot yields became more important than livability. Streets were laid out to accommodate cars, with almost no regard for pedestrians. Even the architecture yielded to

SUMMARY

The homes that make up this collection are new designs that have been specifically prepared for use in the “Charleston” section of Sweet Bottom Plantation. The floor plans retain the necessary order and balance of much older Historic Precedents. In addition, they are designed to include all of the most modern features found in new homes today. The floor plans are designed to reach a comfortable balance between function and formality. We believe you will agree this combination is what is found in the next generation of Classic Homes of today. The exteriors of these homes are inspired by the Historic Homes of Charleston. When possible, we have referenced the Historic Home which forms the basis of our new designs. We have stopped short however, of any attempt at literal historic reproductions. Rather it is our belief that today’s new classics should reflect the past but at the same time become a new classic in its own right. We hope you enjoy looking through our “Charleston Collection” and find it as inspiring as we do. The process of building a new home should not be difficult or time consuming. By organizing our homes into a Collection format, we hope to make the new home design and construction process as pleasant and professional as possible. So take your time and dream not only of the Classic Homes of yesterday but of the beautiful new home of your dreams. Thank You,

Stephen Fuller President , Design Traditions
