Stephen’s Thoughts
It’s the time of year when we warmly embrace a shining light for a short while, when we reflect on the past year and plan for new beginnings in our personal lives and in our businesses. For another year the World’s health and economical events have taken their toll on us all, yet despite what seems to be a constant battering from every direction - our spirits at The Stephen Neall Group are high, we are optimistic and the foundation stones are laid in preparation for a healthy Twenty23.
Hard lessons in business have taught me “do not stand still” always improve wherever possible and constantly look for opportunities wherever and whenever they arise. For the last year or two, we have recognised the changing trends and the delicate balance of trading on the high street and spent time and resources building on our existing platform as “architects of interior design and fit out”. We have enhanced the technical installations part of our business by creating a furniture and accessory department for e-commerce and B2B trading which has proven to be a great asset to the business, bringing opportunities with other professionals and several new super brands to our portfolio.
At Poliform North – we embrace one of Italy’s super brands and have endured the impact that world events have had on the Italian people and it’s economy. Thankfully, we are now seeing physical reconnection and spirits are bursting with development that has been suppressed during the pandemic. Material supply chains are at last improving and we enjoy a constant flow of exciting new projects for Kitchens, Bedrooms, and beautiful home furnishings.
This year The Stephen Neall Group celebrate 40 years of trading at our original premises on Prince Albert Row, Harrogate. This epic milestone could not have been achieved without the help and support of our families and the tribe at The Stephen Neall Group and I want to complement everyone involved and thank them for some outstanding work over the years and especially in Twenty22.
I’m looking forward to the prospect of doing it all again in Twent23.
Stephen Gee Creative Direction & ProprietorFEATURE
Miss Christmas
Miss Christmas is designed and handmade by one of our founding partners Margaret-Joy Gee, many hours go into creating this beautiful dress and head piece.
From her studio room set in a converted barn overlooking a delightful rolling paddock, Miss Christmas starts to come alive as winter sets in, and the festive season is upon us. Often working into the dead of night and with music to create the mood, Margaret-Joy uses her own thoughts, designs and patterns to bring Miss Christmas alive for another year.
She is truly our favourite window display and is photographed by many a passing admirer.

PROJECT
Countryside Manor
Having previously worked for this client on another historic property, we had a valuable insight into what it takes to convert this family home into a spectacular country house, honouring the period features.
Each room – be it a cloakroom, a reception room, or a master suite. They are all sympathetically renovated by an experienced design team, dedicated trade specialists and outstanding artisan craftsmen.
Where appropriate, original features have been preserved and often enhanced with timeless pieces of furniture.
Raw materials have been sustainably sourced for furniture and finishes. Patterns for architectural details and cast brass work have been recreated from period reference material and then bespoke made by artisans across the country.
