Born in 1947, Gerald Green gained a Diploma in Architecture at Leicester Polytechnic. In 1987 he gave up this career to become a full-time Artist and Illustrator and rapidly gained a reputation as one of the UK’s leading Architectural Illustrators, numbering several major national and international companies among his many clients. At this time he also served as Vice President of The Society of Architectural Illustrators and as a Director of The Free Painters and Sculptors Group in London.
Now devoting himself entirely to painting his work has been shown in numerous public and private galleries in the UK together with various Society Shows at the Mall Galleries, London. He has been a finalist in several national arts competitions including The Singer and Friedlander/ Sunday Times Watercolour Competition, The Laing and Not The Turner Prize exhibitions. His considerable ability with both oil and watercolour exploits the spontaneity of the medium in order to catch the essence of his subjects, using light as the catalyst.
For many years Gerald has been a regular contributor to arts magazines, including The Artist and International Artist. His new book The Artists Essential Guide to Watercolour is his first solo publication.

Gerald Green The Wing Chair oil on canvas · 16 x 16 in.In his newest collection, British contemporary artist Peter Kettle showcases recent discoveries of hidden welsh waterfalls, a journey along the North Coast of Scotland, and scenes of olive groves in Kefalonia, Greece. Accompaning his landscapes are also a series of new abstract expressive Sea Shanty paintings created over the past 6 months.
Peter Kettle creates oil and mixed media paintings by immersing himself in landscape, and considers himself a documentarian and expressive landscape artist. Each year, Peter takes on planned journeys around his native Wales and remote regions of the world; and incorporates journalistic narratives and social geography into his projects. His previous expeditions have led him on a personal journey across the desert plains of Patagonia and to the Andean Foothills to retrace the steps of the Welsh Settlers. Peter’s following project embarked on a physically challenging environmental expedition hiking to Everest Basecamp. In sub-zero temperatures, Peter collected rubbish along a 10-day hike to reuse in collage and mixed media works made enpleinair at Everest. Where the story captivates him, he will record elements and nuances of the space to rework into ambitiously scaled and expressive paintings; using paint and other media poured, rubbed and splashed onto the canvas.
Having worked exclusively in oils, his technique has broadened to incorporate the use of plaster, collage, inks and shellac. His paintings give the impression of well-worn exterior walls, buffeted and corroded over time. The effect is a characterful, well weathered surface, stony and granular that is at the same time luminous with dramatic light. His paintings go through a number of stages, deconstructed and layered, to form a complex expression of his subject matter.

Born in 1964 Jake Winkle did a foundation course at Bournemouth College of Art in 1984, before going on to study Expressive Arts at Brighton Polytechnic. Graduating in 1987, and after a spell in industry, he became a full time artist and began to focus on watercolour painting.
Now specialising in this medium, Jake practices it at its most direct and uncluttered. Particularly inspired by colour and movement his subject matter is frequently rendered as simple silhouettes or slabs of colour and tone and is a reflection of the world around him. He is well known for his watercolours of racing subjects.
He has been a finalist in ‘Not the Turner Prize’ competition and exhibits widely in London and all over the South of England, including at the Mall Galleries and the Royal Society of British Artists.
Jake has been the subject of a profile in The Artist Magazine, to which he also contributes. As well as exhibiting regularly he has undertaken many commissions, both private and public, including for The National Trust. Jake also teaches and runs watercolour workshops and demonstrations in the South of England.
