SORAYA FRENCH, PPSWA International artist, tutor and author Soraya French works from her Hampshire based studio. She combines a successful exhibiting career with writing articles for the UK’s leading art publication “The Artist” and carries out experimental workshops both at home and abroad. The success of her art books, commissioned by Harper Collins, have brought her international acclaim and following. Soraya works in all painting media but is particularly known for her vibrant mixed media paintings of flowers and people in everyday life situations. The use of vibrant colours, light and expressive textures are prominent features of her work. She takes inspiration from her travels, as well as the beautiful landscape around her. The ambiguity and evocative quality in her painting leaves something for the viewer’s imagination. She has been the recipient of a number of prestigious art awards in the last few years and her work is held in many private and public collections both at home and abroad. Soraya is a Director and Past President of the Society of Women Artists and curates their annual exhibition at The Mall Galleries in London.

NEIL PINKETT Neil Pinkett was born in St Just-in-Penwith in 1958 and spent his childhood in West Cornwall. After a successful career as an illustrator spanning 20 years, Neil decided to dedicate himself to painting full-time in the mid-1990s. An acclaimed solo show followed almost immediately, and since that time, Neil has built a reputation as one of the foremost landscape painters in the county. Today, Neil divides his time between Bath and Cornwall, spending the summer months living in his studio in Marazion, overlooking St Michael’s Mount. Neil is one of several en plein air painters to emerge from St Just in recent years, the most prominent of whom is Kurt Jackson. Neil does most of his work on location, occasionally from his canoe using a specially adapted easel and accompanied by his dog, Beavis. Neil travels widely - landscapes and landmarks from these journeys feature heavily in his work. Recent projects have included a series of paintings of bridges from around the UK and another on the Scillonian ferry that operates out of Penzance harbour. Neil works mainly in oil paints, texture and overpainting being used to create impressions of atmosphere and light.

PAUL TREASURE Paul Treasure was born in 1961 in Gloucestershire and studied at Cheltenham College of Art. He then moved to London where he worked from his studio in Holborn as an established and highly regarded artist, taking on commissions for public works of art worldwide, as well as for private clients. In 1991 Paul took a year’s sabbatical to paint whilst travelling the world, this journey took him through Africa, India, Southeast Asia and Central America. On his return he moved to Hampshire where he had several solo sell-out shows exhibiting these works. Following this, in 1993, he was commissioned to be expedition artist on the first ever crossing of the Taklamakan Desert in North West China for three months, after which he exhibited these works at various shows, including the Royal Geographical Society in London. Paul’s style is expressive, energetic and full of colour. His paintings capture the feeling and emotion of a place, whilst depicting the interplay between light, land, water and sky. His dramatic interpretations of the English landscape show his response to the ever-changing seasons, weather and light; and his bold use of palette knife, brush strokes and mixed media, result in distinctive mark-making, culminating in vigorous, textured landscapes. Paul continues to exhibit around the country, whilst still travelling abroad regularly to find inspiration for his paintings. His most recent work is inspired by the landscapes and coastal areas of England, including his recent works which are around the chalk streams of the Test Valley.
