01 HIMALAYAN INSTITUTE OF ALTERNATIVES, LADAKH

SECMOL, Ladakh Village Phyang, District Leh, Jammu and Kashmir 150 acres

Himalayan Institute of Alternatives (HIAL) is an ambitious project that seeks to establish as an exemplar alternative learning in higher education and a sustainable living environment. Apart from finding solutions to the problems of Ladakh and the mountains, the University will also aim to establish for the world a new model of higher education that is more practically engaging and directly relevant to life and its challenges in the real world. Future Institute has collaborated as a strategic partner in the initiative for conceptualizing the vision and developing the master plan of HIAL




Himalayan Institute of Alternatives (HIAL), a global university of alternative learning in Ladakh. The Institute has actively provided and enabled communication and outreach strategies in enabling HIAL (or the initiative) to realize its vision.




02 REJUVENATION OF URBAN PONDS OF GURUGRAM

Client Location Area

Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) For Pilot Project (Sector 53, Gurugram, Haryana 9.5 acres (Waterbody) + 25.5 acres (Surroundings) The initiative ‘Rejuvenation of Urban POnds of Gurugram’ seeks to rejuvenate, preserve and develop the existing water bodies in Gurugram as not merely as catalysts of environmental sustainability but also as active urban places of renewing and building socio-cultural capital of Gurugram. The research puts forth a set of practical and doable set of guidelines for residents, managing authorities, urban complex urban challenges through exploration, research and participation. Development plans for projects in Basai (sector 9B) and Saraswati Kunj (Sector 53) were proposed to establish and demonstrate the principles and practices of preserving and managing urban water bodies sustainably.

The project is offering A la carte services, club facilities, gymnasium, housekeeping, and much more. The Plaza 106 is a perfect amalgamation of residential places, hospitality brands, retail spaces and commercial shops. It will be hosting major Indian and International brands as well. The housing scheme was proposed to Spretech Group for their upcoming Project by ACA( Ajoy Choudhury and Associates), several options were prepared in terms of massing and elevation Studies. I being a Trainee at the firm was involved directly with Ajoy sir on massing schemes, Site Development Studies, Terrace area Design, and floor plans.

Project Location

MUSKAN NEELBAD ,BHOPAL Muskaan is a non-profit, non-governmental organization registered under the Societies Registration Act (1973). We work with vulnerable slum communities in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh on issues of education, identity, violence, health, and survival needs. Mrs. Revathi Kamath designed the school in an Ecologically molded method, using the student’s mothers as labor thereby giving them employment and teaching them the forgotten skills of mud construction. I was the Assistant Architect in this project and dealt with all the ‘onsite and off-site’ matters related to the project, including production of Drawings, and site Co-Ordination.

09 ART INSTALLATION @ INDIA DESIGN, NSIT GROUND DELHI

MOFA INDIA DESIGN EXHIBITION ENTIRE CENTRAL PROMENADE ,NSIT CAMPUS,DELHI Clay models were prepared by MoFA Studio depicting the depletion of greenery due to urban development, in this installation, for the India Design Exhibition. Manish Gulathi (Principle Architect MoFA) approached Sushant Verma (Principle Architect rat[LAB]) for parametric design consultancy. A team of 4 were prepared by rat[LAB] for creating a technique to scale up the models to the required dimensions to be installed in a month, along with a repetitive pattern for carpet. I assisted Sushant sir in the meetings at MoFA and helped translate the design into grasshopper script using surface contouring to form a base structure for the waste steel plates to be welded on, along with several other iterations. I also prepared the drawings and assisted the CNC cutting process and installation on-site.

Odyssey Stone’s NOIDA 1,020 sq. ft A stone retail flagship housed within an office-cum-factory premise in Noida provides 3600 experience of the merchandise right from the time a customer steps into the store… Breaking away from conventional design and methodology, and in sync with the client, Odyssey Stone’s mission to “fully realize the expressive potential of stone”, rat[LAB] INTERIORS is presently culling out this experience center, where axiomatically-clad stone surfaces envelop the interiors – right from charcoal grey epoxy flooring to red jasper and black granite desks; and CNC-cut marble stone walls to triangulated MDF panel ceiling, re-defining the concept of a retail space.

Abhinav Ghera Residence DHERADUN The residence is located in the suburbs of Dehradun and has been an ongoing project since the year 2016, the client has seen this project as an extension of their living surroundings in tune with the natural habitat of the hills surrounding the site. The main challenge was the distance of the site to all the existing raw materials and transportation while resolving the electrical and plumbing layout within the given deadlines.

Internet of Things Office Dwarka, Delhi The office space was composed for a Startup in ‘Internet of Things’ by NRI clients, who had brought the 200sq.ft. space in Dwarka. The project aimed to make a low-cost yet technically challenging scheme that would have a response to touch and light. The IoT team itself assisted with technological knowhow in some parametric installations.


13 CREATORS GURUKULL, GURGRAM

Project Location

CREATORS GURUKUL Gurugram, Haryana Creators Gurukul was a Co-working office interior project of 5000 sq.ft. in Gurgaon, Funded by Yuvraj Singh the cricketer. As a Parametric consultant to the Delhi based design firm Arcus, I proposed several false ceiling options for the bigger halls and also did a walkthrough of the project. Apart from the Ceilings and interiors, the conference room was completely made to go through a makeover with algorithms that have been used to generate formal sculptures that are then constructed from digitally formed timber profiles and painted in weather-resistant polyurethane coating, among other finishing alternatives.

CHIVAS X ASHISH N SONI MUMBAI ASHISH N SONI is a fashion designer who along with Chivas was set to release a range of perfume named “Alchemy”. rat[LAB] collaborated with him to produce an effluent design and curation of the entire space in two cities.

Bamboo Space Frame for Commercial Mixed Use Office Project World Trade Centre, Noida, Uttar Pradesha The Institute has been very intensely involved with Design Engineering Group, a core group of Viridian Development Pvt. Ltd. to initiate, explore, research and formulate the strategic thought process in developing Design Briefs, Concepts, and Design products in various on-going and proposed projects. One of such innovative experiments was to design and develop an armature prototype in bamboo for mixed-use commercial project World Trade Centre Noida. On the right is a hemispherical iteration for the same sphere to be used as a geodesic dome for the central hub of, HIAL campus.

SUSHANT VERMA RAT[LAB DELHI NCR Parametric Art Collection 2017 collates a broad range of unique and solely designed art objects articulated as furniture and spatial enhancers. As fragmented curves bind together and form endlessly serous surfaces, each object unveils a dynamic story to represent one’s lifestyle uniquely, mingling into any orthogonal or organic space. Each piece is carefully designed as visually sculpted monoliths or contoured morphologies in a multitude of joinery techniques and finishes. The collection demonstrates the use of mathematically induced algorithms that transform the orthogonal nature of modern furniture or art into fluid forms and curvilinear morphologies. These objects surface as visually-sculpted art-forms and can be finished in any color following the adjacency.
