How to become a landing page blogger and have online success? I have been reading “Crushing it! again which has inspired me to share my blog content planner guide for personal branding, online marketing and blogging I can’t remember why I choose to be a landing page blogger and online marketer, but I can recall thinking it was going to be a lot of work, which in reality it is. There was of course the idea that it could be possible to make a lot of money from my laptop and anywhere in the world, which existed me as well as the nerdy concept that I could automate everything and be financially successful. I have been an network marketing and online marketing advocate for some years and sometimes I find the conversation with newer network and online marketers frustrating. The attend training webinars, listen to podcasts and read other marketers educational content, but still do not understand that the internet is simply an a virtual adaptation of the psychical world. This maybe a fear factor involved but trying to run a business incognito is not a recipe for success. Each day the internet is ignored for an illogical fear of being found and the perception that online marketing is too difficult. So, this page was created with those who need simple guidance towards putting their first step into content marketing. My personal brand SEO and content marketing journey In the early day of my journey into online and content marketing, I was reading lots of personal brand SEO and content marketing sites and realized that the key laid between ranking content and using keywords & phrases that were relevant to my target audience. It was clear that regardless how great my content would be, if nobody read it there was no point in making it in the first place. So, optimizing my blog or landing page content was going to be the key to improving my contents online visibility and success.
My journey with online marketing Everyday, I would search the internet for clues to how bloggers and online marketers made money and became successful via the internet. There was many online courses that said they would give me the secret to online success for a price and for a long time I refused to join one, until I read about something called Google Sniper . I have to say, I was not completely convinced that a online course called Google Sniper was going to help, but I was despite for someone to tell me how people made money online from their blogs or landing pages. So, I sucked it up and paid the subscription. Within a day the penny dropped and it became clear how marketers in the online industries achieve success. I already understood from the start that work was going to be required, but until I attended the Google Sniper course I didn’t really know what I was meant to do or learn. Did I need to: ● ● ● ●
Write better and more interesting and valued content? Learn more about SEO? Did I need to understand more about researching keywords? Or invest more time in social media platforms?
I am sure that you would like me to say that none of the above are important but sadly they are. However, the importance of these skill really do not outweigh our ability to find a daily / weekly system that will allow the individual like yourself to achieve the success you desire.
If we do nothing, nothing will happen..... So, even though researching keywords, creating fantastic content and finding the time to do it is vital, the importance of taken action, setting goals, making a plan and then working on it everyday still resonates in the minds of people who achieve success.
The creation of a landing page blogger system The ability find and use a system that allows the landing page blogger and online marketer to simply start their day in top gear takes time. When I first started sharing my content I was doing far more work than I needed and missing the point on other things, such as over optimizing and over back-linking my pages. This unfortunately got my sites banned on Google and Facebook. Also using multi sharing tools had similar consequences and only short term gains. In reality and as in any business, the failures or mistakes are apart of the process of becoming a successful online marketer. Maybe the pioneers need to take the risks so others can follow in safety, but the responsibility in many cases was clearly my own. It really came down to a lack of knowledge on how the internet worked and how the search engine and social media platform consider spam and valueless content.
The start of my journey The starting point of my journey came when I was involved with an MLM startup. My main goal was to enroll as many people as I could so I would have a strong base to work from once the company went live. I simply created a video landing page and shared it through all the social media platform such as Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin. I didn’t need to do much before I begun to recruit a steady flow of distributors. The excitement of creating a simple landing page and watching my business grow was a eureka moment, however there was a fear in the back of my mind that said, “Was it a fluke?” Unfortunately, startups have a massive failure rate as this one did and so I needed to find something new to work on, but I had the beginnings of a system, which was “Create a landing page and share on social media” but even then I knew it would not be sustainable over the long term.
An automated landing page and blog content planner that works It became clear that any system needed to be automated, but simple, while avoiding the trap of spamming the world with content nobody valued or cared about. So, even though I understood that a system was needed, I also required an easy method that worked on a daily basis. However, I still needed to know what was my goal and what was I trying to achieve? So, the next question was, “What do I need to achieve for success online?” Well, I needed people to read my content and receive updates and hopefully overtime build relationships, but ultimately buy whatever I was offering. Once I understood what I wanted, it became a lot easier to research and implement the tools and methods need to achieve my goals.
Online marketing and personal brand SEO in the real world As I already mentioned here and in many other articles I have written, “work is required” so all I have discussed up to now needs to be physically and creatively developed and shared with the public. I believe that was the most scary bit in the early years, because the thought that I would do all the work and receive nothing in return was always on my mind. The basic idea was that I would create a blog and create interesting and informative content hence customers and prospect would read my content and subscribe to my warm leads list. However, overtime this developed and I found myself needing additional skills and knowledge to make the process slightly more complex while simplifying the actual engagement with the customer or prospect. If we refer to the chart below we can see the simplified system that will allow someone new to online blogging and landing page marketing to understand the basics.
Researching ideas for your landing page or blog content planner Topics and subjects to discuss in your blog or landing page can sometimes be tough but a rule I normally work on is write what you know. However if you are trying to market or promote essential oils there is no point is writing about super cars so keep it relevant to your target audience. The easiest topic to start with is about yourself, because you know who you are and if you don't this is a good place to start. So, express opinions about business or the lifestyle you would like to live. Also, sharing your goals and aspirations can be a great motivator as well as an interesting and valued content for others, but remember your earlier attempts will not be great so do not be too hard on yourself because they will improve.
Researching keywords for your content This is likely to be the toughest part of creating your content. The goal is to be found in the search engines while not being in direct competition with major companies that
maybe dominating the topic you are sharing. It is not really possible for me to share more than just the concept of keyword planning, but this is how it works. The content creator needs to find content related keywords (short or long keywords) that are used a lot in search engines such as Google while at the same time there are only a small amount of websites, blogs and social media platforms using that keyword. The process of finding keywords can take some time so don’t stress if you feel the process is taken too long. If you are lucky it may take an hour, if not it may take as much as 12 hours, but this part of the process will and does make a big difference and will be the element that will make your blog or landing page rank and receive targeted views. Why I believe that keyword optimization is so important is because regardless how great your content maybe, if nobody finds it the whole process is irreverent.
Write interesting, valued and informative content A few years ago, the online marketer could write about 400 words and get into the top 10 in Google but not anymore. The Google search engine expects a lot more before they will index or give your page any credence unless you are lucky enough to find a keyword or topic that no-one is writing about yet. Regardless, if you are writing a blog post or a landing page, 1000 words plus should be your goal with related images. Also, adding your keywords to the title, subtitles, URL and images will help and support your page and give you the vital ranking places in Google.
Optimizing your content Search engine optimization or SEO is arguably an art form of sorts which has become slightly more difficult since Google has updated it algorithm in 2018. However, for some years now I have been using a Wordpress plugin called SEOPressor that has made the whole process of content and personal brand SEO a lot easier. SEOPressor gives the landing page blogger and online marketer the maximum SEO clarity on their WordPress sites with a lots of customization and optimization features designed for controlling SEO with ease. As a tip, I have been doing all my optimizing even for my landing pages with this plugin and then transferring it from the blog to my landing page with great success. However, if you think you would like to do it yourself, take your three best keywords from your research and placed them as followed positions in your blog, webpage or landing page: ● ● ● ● ●
The same keyword in the H1 title and url A keyword in the H2 and H3 subtitles keyword in the first 100 words and the last 100 words A keyword in the images Bold or link keywords anywhere else in the content
The main thing to be concerned with is not to over optimize your content because Google, Bing and the other search engine see it as spam, so be careful.
Landing page vs website blog? I personally believe that there is advantages and disadvantages with both platforms. The blog seems a gain more hits and can rank well when you are creating a lot of interesting articles so you may get a lot of return hits and even a community built through the interesting information. However, blogs can give too much information with the reader drifting from page to page and not really committing or subscribing to what you have to offer. The landing page on the other hand funnels and guides the reader to the place you want them to go, because there is only a limited choice of options. Landing pages
may take some work for it to rank, but the targeted content means that the reader has a real interest in what you are offering. I personally use both, but like using landing pages more because of the control, however for the new people to online marketing the blog platform maybe easier. The diagram below will give you a more detailed example of the whole process from creating the content in your blog or landing page, sharing your business online as a blogger or online marketer, including the use of an autoreply system and social media platforms.
Share with the world The final stage is to share your content to the world. This can be a very boring and time consuming process, but vital as a way of reaching out to new customers, prospect and colleges. I have personally created a excel files in Google Docs to be sure what social media platforms and blogs I have shared with. Over sharing can be an issue as over optimizing is so don’t keep sharing over and over again on the same platform especially Facebook.
