ARG celebrate a five star grading in Occupational Health and Safety Audit

ARG is pleased to announce it has achieved a five star grading from its ‘Five Star Occupational Health and Safety Audit’ conducted by the British Safety Council.

Awarded on 27/01/2022, ARG underwent a detailed, quantified and objective evaluation of their occupational health and safety management system. The audit measured performance against a number of key safety management indicators and ARG achieved the highest rating. The British Safety Council’s Five Star Occupational Health and Safety Audit provides organisations with a worldwide benchmark of their safety management systems against current best practice to enable continual improvement. The Audit specification was revised in 2013 to include performance measurements in two additional safety management indicators (Leadership and Continuous Improvement) which are continually assessed, alongside other indicators, throughout the audit process. Within the revised audit, the British Safety Council has placed a greater emphasis on the organisation’s approach to occupational health, employee wellbeing, safety culture, allocation of resources to health and safety and planning for change; all of which are considered important best practice factors. Chris Blair, Managing Director of ARG, said: “I am absolutely delighted, especially as this is the second occasion we have been awarded this prestigious 5 star grading, this time with a score of 98.92%. It demonstrates to me that Safety is not just a role within the business but a culture that has developed over time. The credit for this, is with the whole workforce, for not just reading and applying the company procedures, but for engaging and contributing to the development of the systems to ensure safe working practices for all. Great British Business Awards Business of The Year!

Shield Services Group has been confirmed as the winner of ‘Business of The Year’ at The Great British Awards 2022.

At an awards ceremony organised by Great British Expos Aspen Waite, Shield was crowned winner out of a total of 1,600 entrants. Reflecting on the win, Luke House, Chairman of Shield Services Group, commented, “After a really challenging past couple of years, I am delighted to be able to receive this award on behalf of all of our team members at Shield. This company was built upon the principles of family and collaboration, and that way of working is what makes us a success from day to day. I wish that we could bring all of the team here to celebrate, as this award is not down to any individual but to everyone. Lunch tomorrow will definitely be on me, as a token of thanks to everyone across the Group. I said during my recent radio interview that I would rather that we won the Business of The Year Award over the Business Leader Award, which I was personally nominated for, as I only succeed if the team does, so I am delighted with this.
