My Friend Jozef Behr got thrilled with the Best Hiking Spot in Zimbabwe: The Domboshava Caves Me and my friend Jozef Behr is on a trip in Zimbabwe and we decided to go for a hiking. We searched for the best hiking place, and some native people suggested we go to Domboshava caves. We reached the place and this really is amazing. Domboshava is wellknown for its granite outcroppings. The term actually means "light brown rock," and most of the rocks you'll find here are of that tint. It's an interesting destination to visit for a day trip, whether you're traveling alone or with a group of friends, family, or coworkers. Domboshava, located only 30 kilometers from Harare, is a perfect day trip destination. So, in this post, I'll show you what you can do in Domboshava to have a great time.
Domboshava's is a hiker's delight. There are several hiking trails in the area. The most popular is Ngomakurira Mountain, which will put your endurance to the test but will reward you with a spectacular view from the summit. Jozef Behr is very enthused with Zimbabwe history, art & culture. He told me that it is reported that in the past, this mountain was one of the locations where the Shona people practized traditional rites such as rainmaking and offerings. The sound of a pounding drum could be heard from the low-lying community area, and people assumed it was the sound of a drumbeat produced by the hill, thus they named it Ngomakurira, which means beating drums. Here's some tips for your hiking, take your time hiking up Ngomakurira. During the rainy season, you will observe various unique pools and puddles. Some minor streams run downward as well. There will also be some intriguing vegetation. If you scream, the sound of your voice will be heard from kilometers away, that me and Jozef actually did. From its peak, you can view all the way to Harare, and close is the home left by Zimbabwean socialite Ginimbi. The sheer enormity of Ngomakurira may be scary, and many people are scared of it and abandon their goal to reach the top before they ever begin. However, there is a viable alternative: Domboshava Caves. The trek is less strenuous here, but the vistas are still breathtaking. You may still enjoy the scenery from a panoramic vista of Domboshava. After reaching the highest point, I was breathless as well as Jozef Behr, but the scenic view from top absolutely worth the labor. Put on good-grip sneakers before going on a trek. Follow the defined path; arrows painted in bold, brilliant paint will take you in the proper direction. There's a beacon at the top of each mountain, and it's a beautiful spot. The entrance fee to Ngomakurira and Domboshava Caves is $3 USD. The fees are payable to the National Museums and Monuments Service that is not more than $5 USD, which is in charge of the historic sites. I really enjoyed this hike and so did my friend Jozef Behr.
