OF ST. JOHN’S

Dear Parents and Students,

St. John’s is steeped in a tradition of excellence that prepares our students for successful leadership and service to others. It is a school community that encourages and supports achievement both within the classrooms and on the playing fields. There is no greater example of excellence and achievement than Cadet Baseball. The St. John’s community was greatly disappointed when baseball was canceled in 2020 due to COVID-19. It is with great excitement and enthusiasm that we look forward to and welcome the 2021 season.

This ball club is defined by talent, work ethic, teamwork, consistency and passion for the sport. Further, this nationally-recognized baseball program plays a crucial role in preparing students to play at the collegiate and professional levels. Each year, student-athletes from this program receive regional season honors, as well as offers to play for college teams. The St. John’s Athletic Hall of Fame is filled with exceptional baseball players.

With the strong connection between the coaching staff and student-athletes, each game is an exciting display of America’s national pastime – a game in which success is only possible when the coach truly knows his players, and the players trust their coach’s leadership and ability to make strategic decisions that bring the team victory.

Yes, this program prepares these young men for athletic and academic success. But most importantly, it grounds them in Lasallian values. We are proud of the way these players represent St. John’s. In fact, at the start of the season, an umpire made time to contact the school and share his experience with our freshman and JV teams. He was impressed by the professionalism and sportsmanship the St. John’s coaches and players displayed during tournament play.

Finally, we would like to thank the entire team of coaches, players, families and alumni for their dedication, support and enthusiasm.

Play ball!

Sincerely,

Jeffrey W. Mancabelli President Christopher J. Themistos Principal
