VOLLEYBALL COACHES

BILL PRIBAC HEAD VARSITY COACH 23RD SEASON

The Michigan native enters his 23rd season at the helm of St. John’s volleyball program. During that time, he has expanded the program to include varsity, junior varsity, and freshman teams. Pribac has been named DCSAA Coach of the Year twice and the AVCA East Region Coach of the Year. Under his leadership, the volleyball team has captured two WCAC championships and seven DCSAA championships.

Pribac has built one of the most competitive and respected

volleyball programs in the District of Columbia and mid–Atlantic region. He has coached a multi tude of players who have gone on to play at the collegiate level, and he has had a couple of players play professionally overseas. He firmly believes that through hard work, dedication, and great communica tion, players can achieve personal success both on and off the court, while allowing the school’s volley ball program to succeed through strong teamwork and the coopera tion of each individual.

THE UNDER ARMOUR CONNECTION

college football program. Under Armour holds roughly 80 percent of the market share in the compression performance apparel market.

In 2006, Plank was named as the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year in the retail and consumer products category. In 2012, Forbes magazine listed him as No. 3 on the list of the most powerful CEOs in America under the age of 40. Plank has also been inducted into the Baltimore Business Journal ’s Hall of Fame.

Kevin Plank, SJC Class of 1990 and MVP of the 1989 championship victory against DeMatha, is the founder, chairman, and CEO of Under Armour, the originator of performance apparel.

Plank began the company in 1996 and since then, Under Armour has been an industry leader. When Under Armour sold shares of the company for the first time in November 2005, the company posted the most successful initial public offering by an American company in five years, and the stock has continued to perform extraordinarily well. By 2013, the company was posting more than $2 billion in annual revenue.

Under Armour is now an official supplier to Major League Baseball, the National Hockey League, the National Football League, and just about every Division I-A

Plank has stayed close to the St. John’s athletic program and has given motivational pre-game, halftime, and post-game speeches to the players. Under Armour is also the official apparel sponsor of the St. John’s athletic program. In 2005, St. John’s became one of just three high schools nationwide (the other two were in Indiana and Arizona) to wear Under Armour uniforms. Starting in 2008, St. John’s volleyball team began wearing Under Armour uniforms as the official uniform. In addition to the Under Armour uniforms, St. John’s players wear Under Armour compression shorts, kneepads, Tech T-Shirts, performance socks, and volleyball shoes.
