The year-to-date numbers of reported cases of several enteric illnesses are slightly higher when compared with the median of the previous five years. Notably, cases of salmonellosis (68 vs. 46 cases, a 48% increase) and yersiniosis (10 vs. 4 cases, a 150% increase) are higher when compared with the year-to-date median of the past five years.

Nineteen cases of the tickborne infection ehrlichiosis have been reported so far in 2023, a 171% increase from the year-to-date median of 7 cases.

Five hundred forty-four cases of COVID-19 were reported to Saint Louis County Department of Public Health (DPH) in June 2023. This is a 45% decrease from the 996 cases reported in May 2023.
