The year-to-date numbers of reported cases of several enteric illnesses are slightly higher when compared with the median of the previous five years. Notably, cases of salmonellosis (76 vs. 62 cases, a 23% increase) and yersiniosis (12 vs. 4 cases, a 200% increase) are higher when compared with the year-to-date median of the past five years. Of note, there has been an increase in the number of cyclosporiasis cases (20 vs. 13 cases, a 54% increase), 16 of which were reported in July. ………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….…………………………….…………………………………...............................
Six cases of Lyme disease have been reported so far in 2023, a 500% increase from the year-to-date median of one case. ………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….…………………………….………………………………….......
Eight hundred and ninety-eight cases of COVID-19 were reported to Saint Louis County Department of Public Health (DPH) in July 2023. This is a 64% increase from the 550 cases reported in June 2023.

CRYPTOSPORIDIOSIS: There were four new cases of Cryptosporidium reported in July 2023 During the previous five years, the median number of cases has ranged from zero to five per month.
E. COLI O157:H7: There was one new case of E. coli O157:H7 reported in July 2023. During the previous five years, the median number of cases has ranged from zero to one per month.
