Crestwood theater manager, when in actuality, he is a backup dancer. The unusual position shakes up the steadfast traditional dynamics of his household and enables Haider to break out of his shell. As he acclimates to the new job, Haider becomes infatuated with the strong-willed trans woman Biba (Alina Khan) who runs the show—an unforeseen partnership that opens his eyes and ultimately his worldview, in ways both unexpected and intimate.

The film’s premise bears a striking similarity to Bob Ross, a culturally significant painter, personality, art instructor, and television host of PBS’s The Joy of Painting. Ross is known for his eventempered demeanor. He spoke in a low, reassuring voice while offering warm guidance and painting instruction. He sported a trimmed afro beard and often appeared in denim. Ross had a marked influence in the 1980s and 1990s before dying in 1995 from complications of lymphoma. However, his influence persists today.

Signe (Kristine Kujath Thorp) and Thomas (Eirik Sæther) are in an unhealthy, competitive relationship that takes a vicious turn when Thomas suddenly breaks through as a contemporary artist. In response, Signe makes a desperate attempt to regain her status by creating a new persona hell-bent on attracting attention.
