Roses are red, violets are blue, generic much like me or you.
Loving parents praise, “You are the smartest I’ve raised”. Their love for you a burning blaze.
You disagree and you may think they are on the brink. About to lose a smoke screen they choose.
The reality is, Life is not perfect.
You are not perfect. I am not perfect.
Plastered with obnoxious rhymes like paint trying to cover a hideous wallpaper that is no longer in style.
In your mind there may be thoughts you are not supposed to think.
There may be parts of your body
That you don’t appreciate. I’m not going to continue the facade that not everyone is struggling. Like you did, reading this page.
I’ve come to the conclusion that life is not a series of juvenile rhymes people cling onto to make themselves feel safe
The world is frightening, stressful, saddening.
Looking at the world the bias the death, the arguing, the power grabs, the self inflicted pain, I think I prefer the rhymes.
Roses are red, violets are blue, I’ve chosen to cover that ugly wallpaper, What about you?
