LEARN HOW TO SKI

SLEDING AT BETELBERG

BATH «ERLEBNISBAD WALLBACH»

Whether children or adults. Our holiday region offers ideal conditions for first attempts on skis or snowboards.

On your sledges – ready – set – go! And all of this against the backdrop of an enchanting mountain panorama.

Relax, splash around and enjoy yourself with a view to the Wildstrubel massif.

In the family-friendly ski areas on the Rossberg near Oberwil, on the Jaunpass near Boltigen or on the Betelberg at Lenk, professional snowsports instructors help children, adult beginners or those returning to the sport to become familiar with skis or snowboards. Get to know winter sports at its best in a relaxed atmosphere.

The sledging runs at the Leiterli are tough: not only youngsters delight in the superbly groomed runs, but also the older tobogganers love to take the descent again and again. The sledging fun can also be perfectly integrated into a skiing day at the Betelberg.

In both, the indoor and outdoor pools of the bath Erlebnisbad Wallbach: enjoy fun and relaxation after a day full of sports on the slopes or simply for its own sake. 25 m indoor pool, bubble loungers, the fast-paced «Munichrine» and sun loungers in the glassed-in terrace are waiting for you!

ON THE ICE RINK

CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING

WINTER HIKING AT LEITERLI

Glide across the ice on two blades, do pirouettes or organise a hockey match with friends. Curling or «Bavarian curling» can also be tried out against the breathtaking backdrop of the Wildstrubel in Lenk.

The boundless expanse of the flat valley floor makes the Simmental, with around 60 kilometres of trails in five areas, a real crosscountry skiing experience.

Snow crunches under your feet, the sun shines in your face and winter fairy tales come true.

An insider tip is the natural ice rink on the Jaun Pass, above Boltigen, where you can even play «Alpine hockey». See pages 27, 41 and 54

With a variety of routes for all abilities in the midst of a pristine mountain landscape, the valley is an Eldorado for skaters and classic crosscountry skiers. Between Lenk and the Simmen Falls, on the high-altitude trail, between Lenk and Zweisimmen, on the Jaunpass near Boltigen or the Rossberg above Oberwil, nature lovers and sports enthusiasts are sure to get their money’s worth on narrow tracks.

Winter hikers find a real paradise at and surrounding the Leiterli. With the sun on your face, you can enjoy the view of the snowcovered crater-like Gryden landscape or admire the panorama from a bench along the way. See page 35
