+ & - space The following presentation is concerned with positive & negative space and is designed as a support for the accompanying creative exercise.
1
As a designer you should begin to look at visual elements in both the positive and the negative. If you can begin to train your eye and brain to be open to this technique it can prove to be a very useful tool in your design arsenal. This presentation highlights several examples that utilise a clever use of positive and negative space. Some are image based and some utilise type and image. Like most of your creative exercises this project is also about looking and making a visual connection(s). It is also about the composition, the attention to detail, the refining and the crafting.

Guidance You must initially look hard and make a visual connection. Then it is important you start by drawing & tracing from good reference. You can then refine your idea before you scan it in and begin to digitise. Initially work in Black & white
