A MEETING OF THE STOKE BRUERNE CANAL PARTNERSHIP WAS HELD ON MONDAY 13TH JANUARY 2014 at which the following business was transacted: 1. News of the sudden death of David Henderson, Museum Manager was received with much regret; sympathy was extended to his family and work colleagues and appreciation recorded for the work done by David at the Museum. 2. The Partnership’s Constitution was reviewed, amended to record changes since it’s inception in 2007 and adopted. Helen Westlake was re-elected Chairperson for 2014. 3. An update on the HLF Interpretation Project was received and dates noted for forthcoming public events and activities. Volunteers are actively being sought for these and various press dates were due to be met. 4. The impact of the new C&RT mooring policy over the Christmas period was discussed and various concerns were relayed to C&RT for future reference. 5. Possible grants to enable the funding of bringing power to the blacksmith’s forge and stable block are being investigated. 6. The consultation on the Management Plan is continuing until the end of January. 7. Updates on the progress made by the Canal Adoption Working Party and on the work to remove telephone cables to enable repair to the flagpole were received. The date of the next meeting was scheduled for Monday 10 th February at 09.30 am in the Museum Conference Room.
