The Stonecutters Collection You can choose from 3 types of homesites at Stonecutters Ridge then, depending on the size of your site and budget, select a home design from our Stonecutters Collection or choose your own builder and design – its that easy! The Jacaranda Release will consist of Neighbourhood, Vista and Gallery homesites ranging from approximately 550m2 to 1086m2. Neighbourhood homesites are within walking distance of local parks and enjoy all of the Stonecutters Ridge lifestyle benefits. Vista homesites enjoy the added benefit of views of the golf course, bushland or parks. The premier Gallery homesites have direct frontage to the golf course, bushland or parks and will be particularly sought after by those desiring front row views. The Jacaranda Release homesites are priced from $329,000. The Stonecutters Collection incorporates Executive Villas, Bungalow Homes and Resort Homes. Executive Villa Homes are proposed low-maintenance single and two-storey residences designed for easy living while still providing generous space for entertaining. They typically contain 2-4 bedrooms plus a study. Suited to families, Bungalow Homes feature generous backyards, a choice of living spaces and 3 to 5 bedrooms, with the option of a home theatre room. Designed for the larger sites, the grand Resort Homes offer a variety of entertaining areas, 4 to 5 bedrooms and large yards accommodating a pool if desired. Our featured builders Rawson, Cosmopolitan and Lyndsay Edmonds have standard examples of these three types of homes.

“The Stonecutters Ridge site presents a magnificent starting point for creating a development which embodies all that is great about the Australian landscape. The challenge is to maintain the connection between the backyard and the bushland and make the whole locality feel like it’s all your place. We wanted to capture the openness of the Australian landscape rather than the hard edges and boundaries that characterise more urban developments. The landscape masterplanning needed to blend features of the Cumberland Plain landscape throughout the new residential precinct and golf landscape. We’ve made provisions for open spaces and new clusters of trees which look like the development has been built around them.”

hallmarks of a Greg Norman design. Great emphasis will be placed on the use of white-faced bunkers as part of the visual appeal of each hole and the development of its strategy. The natural elevation of the upland holes in particular will lend itself to the usual preference for bunker style, in the Mackenzie tradition.

Both the golf course and The Clubhouse are scheduled for completion in 2010.

Interior suggestions for an environmentally friendly home These days we all want to do what we can to make our homes as environmentally conscious and energy efficient as possible. In addition to choosing to connect to our recycled water facility, there are a number of things you can do to play your part. Avoid electric heaters such as bar, fan and oil-filled models if possible – they are expensive to run and result in a lot of greenhouse gas emissions. An efficient natural gas space heater is usually the best heating choice if you have gas. Gas heaters and air conditioners have energy star labels to help you choose the most efficient model. Choose window coverings which reduce heat as much as possible, such as plantation shutters or rubber-backed curtains. Insulation batts in your ceiling are also effective at keeping your home warm in winter and cool in summer and low-voltage light bulbs will reduce energy use. For the healthiest, greenest option, choose paints which contain all-natural ingredients. These may cost a bit extra but are best for the environment and ideal if you have allergies. On a personal level there are a number of things you can do on a regular basis. Take shorter showers, wash clothes in cold water whenever possible, fully load washing machines and dishwashers, dry your clothes on a line, not in a dryer, turn off your hot water system when you go away, switch off lights, turn off appliances at the power switch and compost your biodegradable waste for great garden compost. Every little initiative helps!

Western Sydney Parklands Western Sydney Parklands is an extensive conservation, lifestyle and recreation haven that stretches for 27km, from Stonecutters Ridge in the north to Leppington in the south. It’s equivalent in size to 25 Centennial Parks, making it one of the biggest urban parklands in the world. It’s a culmination of more than 30 years of government planning for the future infrastructure, recreation and open space needs of Western Sydney and as such it is an important part of the plan for Metropolitan Sydney. The Parklands is one of the first major urban parks to be established in Australia in the 21st century. The parklands will start at the M7 at Stonecutters Ridge’s front door step and will occupy the entire eastern section of the approach to the site from Richmond Road.
