Available for adults and children 18 months and older, each RediClinic has two to three exam rooms and a qualified medical team capable of treating more than 30 common conditions, including the flu, earaches, infections, allergies, acne and insect bites. RediClinic also provides a weight loss management program called Weigh Forward™, a smoking cessation program, screenings, medical tests, immunizations, and physical exams, including back-to-school and sports physicals. Open extended weekday and weekend hours, RediClinic accepts most insurance plans, requires no appointment and typically gets patients in and out within 15 minutes. Plus, with H-E-B’s pharmacy just steps away, patients can save a separate trip to the drugstore if medications are prescribed.

“Our patients love the convenience,” says Golinkin.
“We have a 94 percent patient satisfaction rate, which is unprecedented in healthcare and retailing.” Golinkin’s company first offered health screening and flu shots in retail outlets on an event basis. “Our customers really liked the convenience and affordability, but they wanted us to provide a broader range of services and to be there whenever they needed us.” In 2005, RediClinic opened its first permanent site in an H-E-B store in Houston. Another 18 soon followed in that city, as well as six more in Austin. Less than two years ago RediClinic entered San Antonio and now operates four locations here, with more to come. “RediClinic is still an emerging business and we were the first to offer ‘convenient care’ in San Antonio,” says Golinkin. “But we have successfully treated more than 750,000 patients, and our business is growing because our patients like it and they are telling their family members and friends.” While consumers have been quick to accept a clinic within a grocery store, the medical community was initially resistant.
