Primed and ready to outwit and outlast Mother Nature and all the challenges the weather can present.
Hunting is a game where milliseconds, millimetres and decibels can be the difference between triumph and disaster. That's where Stoney Creek will keep your senses firing on all cylinders, giving you peace of mind - knowing you had maximised your opportunity and ultimately your experience.
WHY STONEY CREEK?
Our brand was born out in the hills, and since those early beginnings this insatiable passion and pastime still flows strongly throughout our entire team of staff, families, customers and users. The connection with the wild, the thrill of the chase, the hours spent in the mountains and in the bush, and the responsibility we have to ensure we pass these passions down to our future generations. It's the challenge of going up against Mother Nature and putting our skills and gear to the ultimate test hunting down an elusive master of their own domain. Whether it's a roaring stag in the bush, a Bull Tahr in the mountains, or a Pheasant in flight - the pursuit requires ultimate dedication, precision, patience and purpose-built gear to give you the ever important edge.
Our team want to create the very best performance hunting gear that will maximise your experience both above and below the bush-line. We want to provide you with gear that you can trust to perform just as much on day one, as it does on day ten of your once in a lifetime expedition, when you're carrying out - loaded with memories, experiences and hopefully some wild game. We have a relentless dedication to provide you with gear that keeps you comfortable and gives you confidence. Confidence that keeps you in the zone for longer, and mentally prepared to evaluate your target and maximise the opportunity when it presents itself.
Our passionate team have trawled the world over for the most advanced technical developments that are then crafted with our purpose-built designs and exclusive technical fabrics. Since 1994 we have been pioneering research and development within our industry and will continue to bring you innovation and performance based ranges that meet your demands as a hunter.
As hunters ourselves, we are so proud and privileged to be able to bring to you a comprehensive range of Men's, Women's, Youth and Kid's technical layering systems and equipment that is purpose-built to perform for your chosen hunting application and that you can trust to maximise your experience.

It’s that dedication to a lifestyle that transcends a mere pastime. It’s our unquenchable thirst to pursue more adventures, more meaningful and shareable experiences.
SIMPLY PUT - IT'S IN THE BLOOD™
WHATEVER MOTHER NATURE THROWS AT YOU. PREPARED
When it comes to hunting, no two days are the same, nor is our gear. Our purpose built designs are conceived out in the environment by people who know what is needed to stay focused and perform in the most extreme and testing conditions.
Here at Stoney Creek we are dedicated to crafting purpose-built hunting gear that can withstand the world’s harshest and most unpredictable climates. Designed using cutting-edge technology that maximises quality, performance and ultimately your experience. With Stoney Creek, you’ll have the confidence of knowing you have chosen the right gear, specifically designed to perform in your chosen hunting application.
TRIED, TESTED & PROVEN.
IN THE MOST EXTREME ENVIRONMENTS.
New Zealand is a country known for its beautiful yet extreme conditions. That’s why us Kiwis have had to get creative when it comes to outdoor equipment. A nation seen as a leader in innovation and technical performance clothing across the agriculture and outdoor adventure industries. This combination makes New Zealand the ideal starting place for creating and testing our products before taking them to the world. We put our gear through its paces here, and we back every product so that it will perform for you there, and we back every product to perform to its intended use.
PROVIDE.
WE ARE HUNTERS. WE ARE GATHERERS. WE ARE PROVIDERS.
Whether it's harvesting wild game for the table, sharing knowledge, or creating experiences - stories that will be carried on through time, we all hunt to provide in one way or another. We are blessed in our part of the world with an abundance of hunting and harvesting opportunities. Here at Stoney Creek we support the respectful harvesting of wild game, and we need to protect that resource with balance and respect for our future generations. Our responsibility is to provide you with the right purpose-built gear that will keep you providing for your family and your community.
PROTECT.
OUR SUSTAINABLE JOURNEY HAS HIT THE GROUND!
Our passions are driven by the outdoor pursuits, Mother Nature and the wildlife, so as hunters we all have a passionate stake in the environment and our role to play in ensuring that we protect it so that we can provide not just our experiences, but better experiences for our future generations.
For years Stoney Creek we have been making more environmentally conscious decisions about the way we design, produce and package our products.
In the performance clothing industry, we understand there is still a long road to go, and not only are we making positive change throughout our journey and at each stage we can, but through initiatives like Our Backyard Trust we are hoping to inspire and influence our staff, our customers, our partners and other businesses to get involved and protect all those things we are passionate about.
Over the last two years, we are proud to introduce a new initiative that we are rolling out across all our newly manufactured products. We are now using 100% home compostable packaging. These bags still provide our products with all the protection and visual reference that we and our reseller customers need, but the impact on the environment is far less.
Not only are these bags home compostable, but you can actually dissolve them in hot water which further helps to speed up the composting time and reduce volume in our wastage and landfills. In fact, by the end of this year, we will have reduced plastic packaging wastage into landfills by over 16 tonnes. That's the equivalent of cellotape going around the world 6.3 times.
But that's not all we are doing.
We are moving all our courier bags/satchels over to 100% home compostable bags.
• We have begun to use Empel® Molecular Water Repellant which provides 10x better water repellency, is a permanent process, and unlike other DWR's has no harmful chemical or water pollution processes.
Using more sustainable fabrics, like our new range MicroPrime which is crafted from recycled fabrics.
The down we use is responsibly sourced and certified, meaning no live plucking
As a brand we have always been committed to providing quality garments that are built with a specific purpose-built application and have been designed to last. Our product design strategy has been to build and produce garments that are purposeful and somewhat timeless so that they continue to perform throughout the years. Our individual product warranties back these products to perform and we provide a comprehensive repairs and revival service to ensure that any products that can be repaired and reused are done so. This is one of the key pillars in our ongoing commitment to our Stoney Creek Sustainability Journey, and it will continue to promote quality garments that are built to last and steer away from any fast fashion.
And we're not stopping there.
Here at Stoney Creek we have quietly gone about our conscious crafting of products and improving our business practices to be more sustainable, wherever possible. We know we are not perfect, and that we still have a very long way to go, but our sustainable journey has firmly hit the ground and we are dedicated to the continuous improvement and evolution of this journey.
We have some pretty lofty goals in place and are looking to not only do our bit for the environment today, but more importantly, we know it is our responsibility and are looking to lead, innovate and inspire the industry to be thinking bigger, better and wider and how we can all be doing more.
We are passionate about our pursuits, our people, our wild lands, our wild life, our backyard and ultimately our world. That is the why, and that is the fuel that will keep our sustainable journey growing.

BY THE END OF THIS YEAR WE WILL HAVE REDUCED PLASTIC PACKAGING WASTAGE INTO LANDFILLS BY OVER 16 TONNES

+150 times the length oF NEW ZEALAND
+100 times from the top to the bottom of The uk
+60 times the width of Australia

MULTI-DAY BACKPACK EXPEDITION?
When you are off the grid on multi-day expeditions into the furthest reaches of the back country, you're living off the gear you are carrying in your pack. Therefore every single gram of weight counts and every item you take is a crucial decision. The Multi-Day backpack expedition hunter is self reliant and demands a technical layering system that is not just ultra-light, but reliable and trusted to perform in the most extreme and unexpected conditions. You will be trusting in your warm and dry base-layers, maximum warmth down insulation jackets that are ready-to-go during static or plummeting temperatures, as well as your breathable rainwear and outer layers that allow you stay on the move, keeping you lighter for longer and that can dry quickly on-the-go.

STONEY CREEK – CEO & OWNER
Always challenged with the balance between strength and weight, my "go-to" is always Stoney Creek's innovation or new products! This is an area where we're always challenging what we know and the new Nitz is no exception. Born from scrambling through the Nitz Valley in Fiordland, we needed a tougher lighter product that was still 100% waterproof, super breathable and could stand up to all conditions - add comfort with our new two-way stretch and you have my new favourite. Whilst the Glaisnock is a great jacket and proven, the Nitz is a balance between lightweight performance, durability and ultimately packing down into a very small space. I have dragged a lot of products around our great outdoors and now I'm very excited that Stoney Creek can bring to the world leading, lightweight, technical, purpose-built products in every layer! Mid, insulation and outer layers are now a luxury. This latest technology allows Stoney Creek to have purpose built options no matter the pursuit

RAINWEAR: With a multi-day backpacking mission in mind, one of my favourite pieces of gear is the Glaisnock jacket TCA, it is lightweight, packs down well and holds out the water and wind.
INSULATION: The Accelerant jacket is my most key piece of insulation that I tend to use on all my colder missions, it is ultra lightweight, extremely warm and the conveniently shaped hood seals in the warmth. MID-LAYER: The Microplus Hoodie is another favourite for longer missions, it is light to carry and adds additional warmth which is handy to have in the bottom of the pack. The Fast Hunt Top is an item I practically live in, it is quiet which is vital for bow stalking, it is lightweight and dries out quickly. The high collar is great for keeping the sun off on those hot days chasing stags. The Microtough trousers are a favourite of mine on the hill for many years, they are ultra light and quiet allowing me the best range of motion with the least sound in the bush.

RAINWEAR: Stowit. Light, compact, waterproof, can take it anywhere! INSULATION: Accelerant puffer. Light, compact, warm and small enough to layer under my Stow-It Jacket without feeling like a marshmallow. In winter I add the Frostline and Landsboroughs in for extra warmth when layering and wind breaking. Great to wear over my base layer while climbing high, put the Accelerant puffer on underneath when glassing.
MID-LAYER: Microplus long sleeve or hoodie for 3 seasons. Light, compact and warm, the hood provides optional warmth and concealment if stalking in close to an animal. Hyper-core Hoodie for winter. Light, very warm, high neck and thick hood. Hunt guard pants all year round! These are my all time fave because they’re so versatile. Thin enough to wear in summer, stretchy enough to wear long John’s underneath when it’s cold, which I did a lot of in Canada. Super durable fabric, quick drying, handy pocket placement, super comfy fit and they make my butt look good! Also the OG leggings are a winner for every situation. Light, compact, handy pocket, very comfortable.
BASE LAYER: Ice dry long sleeve and/or t-shirt in summer. Light, compact, wicks sweat and keeps me cool and long sleeves stop me fromgetting sunburnt arms. Long sleeve thermal top and bottoms in winter. Light, compact and warm. Can’t beat a merino blend!

I'll list off what I use on a backpack style alpine hunt for late summer going into autumn and try to give some reason for each bit of kit.
RAINWEAR: Stow-It jacket - lightweight, fast drying and always in the bottom of my pack for any expected or unexpected rain. INSULATION: Igniter jacket - super light and compact and an essential part of my alpine backpacking kit for summer and autumn no matter what the forecast is. I have a super lightweight sleeping bag so this doubles as extra warmth when needed at night
Mid-layer: Microplus Hoodie TCA - this is my go-to mid layer for all seasons. Fast hunt shirt TCA - light, fast drying and provides good sun protection while also allowing air to move around to keep you cool. Jester shorts - super tough wearing, light and fast drying.
BASE LAYER: Thermal Dry Top - essential piece of kit for anytime of year when hunting in the mountains with the weather being able to change so fast even in summer OTHER KIT: 360 wide brim hat

HUNTING FROM BASE CAMP MISSION?
Whether you are flying in or taking the 4x4 deep off the grid, when you can afford to take in a little bit more gear or weight, you want to ensure that there are no compromises and all your bases are covered. So whether its a big alpine Tahr Mission, or simply a long weekend driving in to a backcountry hut, we all have our favourite hunting gear that has a few more bells and whistles that keeps us that little bit more comfortable and little bit more confident, so we can be fully prepared for every single opportunity that presents itself.

OUTDOOR QUEST TV - CANADA
Layers are the key, you need a system that allows you to temperature regulate with ease. On a base camp trip weight isn’t as big of a concern and you often find yourself pushing through the trees, climbing in the rocks, the durability of outer and rain layers is critical. I also like to carry a larger backpack just in case I need to pack meat back to camp.
RAINWEAR: Glaisnock Jacket (TCA), Dreambull Overtrousers (TCA), waterproof gloves (TCA). INSULATION: Landsborough Trousers (TCA), Frostline Jacket, Accelerant, Ignitor, or Thermoflex Jacket (bayleaf) –depending on temperatures and time of year. MID LAYER: Microprime ¼ zip top (crocodile), Microplus Long sleeve Top (Bayleaf/black). BASE LAYER: Base Dry + Briefs, Thermal Dry + Long Johns, Thermal Dry + Long Sleeve Tee, SC Active Long Sleeve Crew (TCA), Ice-Dry Tee (bayleaf)
OTHER KIT: Hunting Stoney Creek socks, Performance Plus Beanie, Winter neck gaiter, Heavy Hauler 100L zip, Buller 60+10L pack (bayleaf), Chilly Bag, Black Stag 800 sleeping bag, Tricord gaiters long (TCA), variety of sizes provider bags.

THE HUNTERS CLUB
Base camp hunts open up the doors for a few creature comforts, especially if it’s a fly-in or drive-in base camp set-up. This allows for High Performance, no compromise gear with all the bells and whistles These are some of the no bars hold items I’m usually taking.
RAINWEAR: Tundra Jacket & Pants – Basically bomb proof has a fitted aspect and breathable. My preference when weight and space aren’t a concern.
INSULATION: Thermoflex Jacket – A must have for those winter base camp hunts. Bit of extra weight but when it’s a fly-in or drive-in I can justify it that little bit of extra weight for added comfort. It's something that can be worn at camp or thrown in the pack for a day hunts. Great insulation qualities, quieter than say the Thermotough and hardier than the ultralight Accelerant and Ignitor variants - it’s a good all-rounder in my books. Landsborough Trousers –Toasty warm, great for those sit and watch type sessions with great insulation and concealment in camo ranges. I pretty much live in these on the mountain in the winter months. BASE LAYER: Thermal Dry+ Top and Longs – mainstay on any hunt really in the winter months especially. A reliable next skin base layer is a must. Waterproof Gloves: little bit of luxury!

SIKA HUNTER , CENTRAL NORTH ISLAND
I bush hunt Sika deer most of the time and I am always prepared to stay over night if I have to, due to a change of circumstance. I try to keep my skin covered to increase my chances, Fast Hunt top and pants help me to do this in the hot summer months. I wear similar gear all year and only change out a couple of things depending on if it's hot or not.
RAINWEAR: Stow It Jacket - in my pack on fine days as wind protection or rain back up, I use this quite a bit in summer to reduce weight. INSULATION: Ignitor jacket - ideal in the pack in case you get stuck out and sitting on my look outs. Isobar Pullover - stalking the bush in it in winter, sitting at camp and winter fishing, it's very comfy with pockets exactly where they should be.
MID-LAYER: Microtough shorts - these are all year as I like the flexibility with shorts, with gaiters over the thermals my legs are pretty well covered.
BASE LAYER: Thermal dry long johns and long sleeve - even if it's hot I still take my set of thermals in my pack as an overnighter back up).
Ice-Dry Tee - I wear this all year hunting and also trout and game fishing

STEALTH BUSH STALK?
When close proximity, patience and a cloak of invisibility are paramount, the Stealth Bush hunter's success depends on a technical camouflage and layering system to give them the ever-important edge over their quarry. Whether it's a multi-day fly camp mission, or just a morning's bush stalk during the roar, the Stealth Bush Hunter demands ultra-quiet, warm and dry gear that will perform throughout the constant stopping and starting involved during the active bush stalk. This is where Tuatara® Camo Forest comes alive and puts you in the zone. With the ability to stalk undetected, all you need to concentrate on is getting in close and out smarting that trophy of a lifetime.

STONEY CREEK – SALES MANAGER
Being a bow hunter stealth and silence is a big deal for me. I’ll always be rocking Tuatara Camo on the hill to help give me the edge and increase my time in “the animal's danger bubble”. I’ll wear/ pack a layered type setup so depending on the amount of work I’m putting in on the hill and the four seasons on one day NZ can throw at you, I can try to regulate my temperature and keep comfortable on the hills. Gear volume, weight and profile are foremost on my mind.
RAINWEAR: Stillwater Jacket TCF. INSULATION: Stalking Pullover TCF. MID-

If the weather is custard I like to use the Stillwater jacket and Huntlite overtrousers with the outer fabric being quiet it is perfect for bushstalking in. Being waterproof I am happy spending days in this gear and I have had great success using these on missions anywhere between Galatea hunting Rusa to the back blocks of Stewart Island chasing Whitetail and everywhere in between.
Fast Hunt Top is an item I practically live in, it is quiet which is vital for bow stalking, it is lightweight and dries out quickly. The high collar is great for keeping the sun off on those hot days chasing stags. Below is the list of gear that I use on a daily basis whether chasing rutting Sika stags, stalking winter Rusa and Sambar or going to work hunting goats. For me staying dry and at a comfortable temperature is key not only for an enjoyable day, but also to avoid having to head home early because you're wet to the skin and feeling the cold. The way I achieve temperature regulation is layering. I always wear a good quality base layer and one or two mid layers to start the day with the first layer typically coming off after the first stretch of the legs.
RAINWEAR: Stow-it rain jacket and Dream Bull over trousers. They don’t take up much room in your pack but are pieces of kit you cant leave at home.
INSULATION:
MID-LAYER: Microplus Long Sleeve Hoodie - has been my favourite garment for the last few years. It is hard wearing, warm, small when packed away and versatile. Microtough pants / shorts
BASE LAYER: Thermal Dry+ long johns/long sleeve, Ice Dry Top
OTHER KIT: Fingerless Gloves, Bean-A-Clap, Airmesh Split peak hat

STONEY CREEK TEST TEAM & GUIDE
Close quarters bush hunting is tricky at the best of times so not being detected by any of the three highly developed sensors (sight, hearing and smell) that deer possess is key to a successful hunt. Many hunters wear camo, I use Stoney Creek's Tuatara pattern which I’ve found to be the best and over the years I’ve seen most of the others. Learning to use camo with the bush around me produced amazing results, enabling me to remain unseen. The next is sound and the fabrics used by Stoney Creek for stealthy bush stalking are second to none. My favourites are the micro tough pants and layered micro fleece tops with especially the hoodie on the outside for the colder parts of the seasons and the fast hunts in the hot summer months. Stoney Creek base layers are key also for wicking sweat or moisture away from the skin giving much greater comfort and confidence as I face challenging conditions. When it comes to scent there’s is nothing out there that will trick the nose of a deer so learning to hunt the wind and minimise ground scent is one of those acquired skills I’ve learned over my 50 plus years of hunting. Stoney Creek gear may not be the cheapest but in my opinion, it’s the best for my kind of hunting.

There is nothing better than finishing a long week's work and counting down the days while looking forward to a weekend mission of hunting. Being an active generational hunter in my family, I have always been taught to be prepared for whatever elements and challenges I may come across. Comfort, durability and maximising my experience as a female hunter when out on the move are what is most important to me. Whenever I have a second spare and the opportunity looks right for a weekend mission, I will run to my closet and grab one of many TCA SC Active Tops and complete with Hunt Guard trousers. The comfort and fit of both products not only gives me confidence in my ability to stalk, but also confidence in the terrain that I may face. Early on, when I began to grow up and gain experience enough to venture out and try my luck at hunting, I have always had my Stow It Jacket.
An OG lifesaver for that unpredictable New Zealand weather. When the weather turns bad I have confidence in the Stowit being 100% waterproof and able to throw on in any situation. I have always been taught that carrying a light pack full of essentials when out on a day mission stalking is critical, rain, hail or shine I know and TRUST that along with these STC Staples I will be set for the long haul.

Being a bigger rig, I run a pretty hot oven – and that’s even before I hit the hills. Therefore my gear choices are always prioritising breathability and the ability to dump heat. Lighter the better too, as when you are rocking bigger sizes, that’s a lot of extra weight and volume to be carrying around.
Day Hunting favourite STC gear picks - RAINWEAR: Stowit Jacket – which I keep in my pack just in case. However I can't wait to give the new Nitz Range a whirl this season. That is right up my alley. INSULATION: Stalking Pullover which I wear for 90% of my hunts as my main outer layer, even during light drizzle rain. Accelerant Jacket for a puffer at night/glassing. MID-LAYER: Fast Hunt Shirt/Trousers have been my "go-to" for the last 3-4 seasons. The new Fast Hunt ascents with added mechanical stretch sound like they were designed for someone like me. Lighter and more stretch will give me a bit more movement and confidence in the hills. BASE LAYER: Ice-Dry and Thermal-Dry depending on the temperature. OTHER KIT: Whirinaki Pack, Explorer Boots, Fingerless Gloves, Split Peak Cap, Short Gaiters.

HARDCORE PIG HUNT?
Fuelled by their thrill of the chase and their desire to provide for their families, the proud pig hunter is one who chooses to chase down their passions into the most unforgiving and uncharted rugged domains. The tougher you are, the rougher you can go. No nonsense, just absolute trust and performance that your gear will continue to perform after being thrashed time and time again. The Black Shield range of products has been specifically designed for you big dogs, who truly push the limits and demand the toughest of tough.

STONEY CREEK – TEST TEAM
When going on a hunt I can trust my chaps to keep my legs from getting a hiding from the matagori and blackberry, the Black Shield material makes them reliable, long lasting and quiet in the bush - which is a bonus. Thermotough always keeps me warm hunting in the snow, or down south. I'm always ready to head away from home, my orange Heavy Hauler bag is always loaded and ready to go. It has lots of room for all my gear and my black stag 500. 90% of my hunting is pig hunting with the dogs, from Coromandel, Gisborne, Castlepoint, Fairly, Tekapo, Baclutha and Taupo (10% Roar hunting Gisborne - the rush of a roaring stag is hard to beat). I like to hunt Pine forestry for ease of getting to the dogs fast and South Island tussock. The open tussock is awesome for watching the dogs, seeing which dog does the work, which dogs do the stopping and the pork tastes good in the high country.
"Provide" to me means - hunting to feed friends, family and old hunters who can't get meat now. I was brought up by old hunters to never leave anything on the hill, there is always a mouth that needs feeding. "In the blood" means to me hunting and fishing is my life and what I live for, the addiction is something you can't get rid of.

STONEY CREEK – TEST TEAM
Last time I was heading south on a pig hunting trip, I was told the blackberry and briar were pretty rugged so thought I had better pack the chaps. Best move!! I wear the Big Dog while pig hunting because I like the freedom around the arms being short sleeve and having the grunty fabric around the shoulders to stop anything coming through. Up here in the North Island, I hunt in a bit of blackberry so I pretty much wear the same gear apart from winter when my Thermotough jacket is my go to. If I am heading out for a quick summer mission after work, I'll grab my gators put on my SC Jester Shorts, Microplus and I always have the Big Dog handy for the carry out.

STONEY CREEK – TEST TEAM
Any pig hunter will know that when hunting with dogs you can end up in the thickest and nastiest places therefore your choice of the right gear is essential. Here in the South Island your day can start off with a -5* frost followed by a sunny 25* day then finish with a 1* southerly snow storm. For me
I hunt in open tussock with thick Matagouri and Briar guts, so it’s only right that I run the Black Sheild Chaps and the ever so famous Bigdog Jacket with simply a Thermal-dry Tee and Microtough Original Shorts plus there’s always a Thermoflex Jacket stowed away in my backpack for when the southerly hits.

UPLAND GAME, WATERFOWL OR BIRD SHOOT?
Stoney Creek technical rainwear and insulation keeps you warm and dry, no matter what Mother Nature decides to throw at you. Whether you are shooting on the peg or beating across the Scottish/English game estates, or patiently awaiting first light in your maimai on duck shooting weekend, comfort, freedom of movement and convenience are all high priorities to the bird shooter when choosing their shooting clothing. With a wide range of tried and true products that have become trusted classics amongst those in the know. Let Mother Nature have her tantrum... because you are wearing clothing that performs and has purpose.
Tony Laughton
With more than 30 years of driven game shooting / walked up game shooting and also running my own pheasant shoot, I found that Stoney Creek hunting clothing was the best, so I joined the team.
RAINWEAR: Suppressor Jacket and Overtrousers
- these are great light weight waterproof shooting rainwear which is great for being on your peg all day or walking with the dogs. I use the Suppressor & Huntlite Overtrousers in TCF when Deer stalking. INSULATION: Thermoflex Jacket for the colder days. Landsborough trousers are my all round trouser in Bayleaf Mid-layer: Fast Hunt Shirt and Trousers. OTHER KIT: Explorer boots are light weight and great for walking and very comfortable. All season gloves are great when the side by side gets warm, the exposed trigger finger are really useful for quick loading, Long gaiters TCF, Skullcap beanie in TCF - I am very rarely seen without one on my head (one factor could be I have very little hair.)
Whirinaki 25L TCF -Day pack is always on my back with flask, snacks, ammo.

STONEY CREEK TEST TEAM & THE HUNTERS CLUB
Being based Queenstown means I am living in the heart of some of the best hunting and fishing in NZ and not far from many game species. Due to my surroundings, I find myself changing from one species to the next and going from quick day hunts to multi-day expeditions into some of the most remote country in New Zealand.
In summer it can be extremely hot and in winter it is like living in an ice box at times therefore choosing the right clothing for the job means not only am I comfortable, but I can spend more time focused and have better success. Duck and goose hunting is pretty static, and on those cold days I end up wearing a fair few layers. Anything in Tuatura Alpine Camo is my go-to. This camo blends into the Waterfowl environments perfectly – Microplus Hoodie, Frostline Jacket and Thermoflex vest are essential and when wet the Glaisnock is ideal.

STONEY CREEK UPPER
SOUTH ISLAND TERRITORY MANAGER
Frostline TCA is always the outer layer, the high volume chest pockets come in handy to store bits and pieces (shells/snacks and more facepaint!)
Landsborough Trousers TCA are real good for cooler mornings, misty, wet drizzly weather in the maimai, also have a pair of active tights underneath for extra warmth and next to skin comfort. Ice-Dry TCA are my "go-to" base layer, great for outer layer if it really starts to heat up like it usually does on a typical Canterbury opening day. Microplus Hoodie TCA: "go-to" mid layer option, warmth with no bulk, super comfortable, Patch Cap TCA, Winter Neck Gaiter TCA or Ice-dry neck gaiter. All season Gloves in TCA again of course.

Whether it be chasing Tahr and Chamois in the Southern Alps of the South Island or smashing Green Heads in the Otago/Southland wetlands, Tuatara Alpine Camo always has my back keeping me concealed and enabling me to push harder, further and also maximise any opportunities put in front of me. My favourite and most used bit of kit would have to be the Frostline Jacket and Landsborough Trousers combo in TCA. From high activity climbing in the hills where movement and breathability is key, right down to sitting in the Mai Mai or Tussock/Marsh where heat retention is important – the Frostline Fabric in these garments really excels in keeping you comfortable and performing at your peak. Matched with the many TCA accessories that are available, I’m always confident that I’m giving myself the best opportunity possible to maximise my experience.
How will you inspire the
NEXT GENERATION?
This is what it is all about. Inspiring the next generation of hunter to follow in our footsteps and be the future guardians to ensure our passions, knowledge shared and ability to provide is protected throughout the generations to come. Maximising their early experiences is paramount, to ensure the obsession sticks. Providing them with purpose-built gear that not only fits and performs, but doesn’t compromise on any of the features or innovations like Mum and Dad's gear, so they feel like they too have the crucial edge to outwit and outlast their target game species.

BUILD your TECHNICAL LAYERING SYSTEM
Purpose-built to perform, constructed tough to endure, yet lightweight and compact so it won’t slow you down. with a Stoney Creek technical layering system as part of your kit, you’ll be performing at your peak throughout your next hunting adventure.
Whether you’re out on a quick morning hunt or on a multi-day expedition, the weather and temperature can change rapidly at any time. That’s why the advanced Stoney Creek layering system has been purposely designed so you can adapt your clothing against whatever Mother Nature throws at you.
HOW TO BUILD A STONEY CREEK LAYERING SYSTEM
First you must determine what type of hunting excursion (application) you are going on, the type of game you are chasing, and the duration of time you plan on being away for. Then, plan your gear around the range of extreme weather conditions, terrains and eventualities that you could encounter throughout the full duration of your hunt. Keeping in mind you should always plan for the best, but be prepared for the worst.
PRODUCT SELECTION CHARTS

Understanding rainwear
PULLING BACK THE COVERS - & SIMPLIFYING your RAINWEAR PURCHASE DECISION.
AT STONEY CREEK, OUR PHILOSOPHY IS TO DESIGN GEAR THAT IS OPTIMISED TO PERFORM A SPECIFIC PURPOSE AND TO MAXIMISE YOUR HUNTING EXPERIENCE. OUR PREMIUM RAINWEAR HAS BEEN TRUSTED BY HUNTERS WORLDWIDE TO PERFORM. SINCE 1994, WE HAVE BEEN AT THE FOREFRONT OF PRACTICAL DESIGN, FABRIC AND TECHNOLOGY INNOVATIONS. WE HAVE ALSO HELPED CUSTOMERS UNDERSTAND WHAT RAINWEAR IS RIGHT FOR THEIR SPECIFIC HUNTING APPLICATION – AS THERE ARE SOME COMMON MISCONCEPTIONS OUT THERE.
KERRY CRAWFORD, OUR LEAD TECHNICAL PRODUCT DESIGNER, WILL SIMPLIFY THE TECHNICAL AND DEMYSTIFY THE COMPLEX SPECIFICATIONS AND RATINGS. HE’LL ANSWER SOME OF THE MOST FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS WHICH WILL ARM YOU WITH KNOWLEDGE TO ENSURE YOUR NEXT RAINWEAR PURCHASE IS THE RIGHT ONE, THAT LASTS FOR YEARS, AND MAXIMISES YOUR HUNTING EXPERIENCE.
1. QUESTION: What does purpose-built actually mean? Just like the people that use them, every outdoor situation is different and unique. It is not possible to get one tool that is right for every job, so the first question we always ask at Stoney Creek is what are the nonnegotiables that guarantee that the garment or equipment is going to maximise the customer's experience. Then we design every detail from the ground up, every fabric and feature are considered to make sure we have this experience at the front of the design process.
2. QUESTION: What are the common applications hunters use rainwear in, and what are the key considerations to understand when choosing what gear to take on those trips? We use real world situations and worse case scenarios to make sure we have our customers covered. The needs of a multi-day hunt in the hills are very different to someone going for an early morning bush stalk. We consider how much the jacket is going to be carried and how often will it be worn? What is the terrain like? Pushing through wet bush and scrub? Punching up steep exposed steep ridges to get to the perfect glassing spot? Does the need to dry quickly over repeated days of use outweigh the need for silence when getting in close? These are all things that keep us constantly searching and testing.
3. QUESTION: How does waterproofing a jacket actually work? Making a jacket “waterproof” requires a number of components. At Stoney Creek we do not think of rainwear in single layers or numbers. We understand that there is a team of fabrics, technologies and designs that all play an equal and important role. Think of DWR Coatings and face fabric deniers and densities as your first line of defence, not chosen to be waterproof, but the player that does all the grunt work and needs to be strong, resilient and prepared to tackle everything that is thrown against it. Until now all DWR treatments have all been variations of the same technology, all with the same basic issues of real-world durability. Great when they are new and clean but quickly overtaken by external environments or overloaded to the point of collapse.
For example, our new Active Shell fabric used on the new Nitz rainwear range:
1. EMPEL™ breaks the mould by offering the highest performing, safest, and most sustainable fabric finishing Molecular
Water Repellent technology. EMPEL™ is the world’s first: 10x more water repellence, enhanced breathability, soft hand feel, sustainable water-free process, non-toxic clean chemistry. Stoney Creek is proud to partner with EMPEL™ to use this technology to outperform traditional DWR while being better for the planet.
2. The next in line is the membrane. The membrane is the waterproof barrier and membrane selection is critical to get right. Stoney Creek only selects high performing membranes that balance extreme waterproof performance with high levels of breathability and bond strength.
3. The final line of defence includes linings and antimicrobial technologies. These are the backups and play an equally important role in supporting the team. Focusing on a single player in this finely balanced team can leave you exposed and ultimately your defence will not be up to the challenge.
4. QUESTION: We often get asked, what jacket should I buy that does everything? I want to use it for hunting, farming and general wear.
Be 100% waterproof, breathable, quiet and tough. How do we best answer that common question? Just like you cannot run a marathon in gumboots, it is important to select the right rainwear for the environment and situation. If you want a heavy-duty jacket for working on the farm, it is not going to fold up and disappear into the bottom of your pack as a backup when heading in for a quick hunt to fill the freezer. Every design has strengths and weaknesses, you need to ask yourself what is going to match your needs, what do you prioritise, and then select the right garment based on those questions.
5. QUESTION: What is the difference between a Microporous (Hydrophobic) and Monolithic (Hydrophilic) membranes? The goal of both membrane types is the same, to keep water that is under pressure from passing through and allow trapped moisture vapour to escape. The way they both achieve this is very different. Microporous membranes have microscopic pores in the membrane that are too small for water droplets to pass through keeping them waterproof, while the pores are large enough to let water vapour exit. It is important to realise that this process requires several environmental factors to allow it to happen. Any trapped moisture (sweat, internal water) will need to be converted into water vapour through a phase change process of body heat and air before it can be forced through the pores by a pressure differential. So being wet and damp inside the jacket, and wet and damp outside stops this process and the jacket will “wet out” and you will feel damp.
Monolithic (hydrophobic) membranes breathe through a process of absorption and migration driven by heat and high humidity. The moisture is passed through the jacket in a stepping stone process to pass from the inside to the outside of the jacket. When this differential is
higher because of built up heat the process is accelerated, when the heat is lower the process will also slow to keep you more comfortable. Similar to the Microporus membrane this process is reliant on a natural pressure differential but the difference is a Monolithic membrane is solid and is less affected by dirt and oils that can block the pores in an unprotected Microporus membrane.
6. QUESTION: We get asked a lot of questions about waterproof ratings – how waterproof are Stoney Creek jackets and how can I make sense of the numbers? Don’t get me started! Buying rainwear based on one number that is created in static lab tests is the biggest mistake a lot of people make. The number is a pressure test number given when forcing water through a small patch of the fabric in a very controlled environment, it has no relationship to how the fabric is going to be used in the real world. Thinking of the fabric team, relying on one player and their past history is not going to be the guarantee that you have everything you need when the going gets tough. At Stoney Creek we go through a long testing and refining process before we will put any fabric on the field. The fabric and membranes we have developed offer the best balance of waterproofness and breathability and they are backed up with fabric coatings and treatments that combine to give you market leading performance. At Stoney Creek we set our own very tough base line minimum requirements for resistance to water penetration test (JIS L1092:2009 Method B) As our guarantee of long-term performance the published numbers for Stoney Creek will always be our minimum standard rather than the maximum number achieved in a single test.
7. QUESTION: Keeping dry is not just about defending against the rain – what can hunters do to help manage moisture from
their internal layers? Stopping the rain from penetrating your rain jacket is just the beginning. Creating a micro climate under your rainwear shell is the key to staying comfortable when the weather turns against you. Being prepared and reacting before you are uncomfortable is the best way to perform in wet conditions. The feeling of discomfort, being too hot or cold is felt on the skin so wearing a wicking base layer is critical. The mid and insulation layers you chose to wear between this and your rain shell give you the ability to regulate your temperature during the day. Reacting before you need to is an important skill, removing a layer before you push up a steep hill to prevent overheating, putting a layer on when you stop so you do not cool quickly. If your base layer is saturated change it out for a dry base layer. Doing all of these things will keep your internal micro climate in the right zone and will allow your Rain jacket to work to its full potential.
8. QUESTION: How important is it to appropriately care for rainwear, and what can a hunter do to get the most out of their Stoney Creek rainwear? Getting the maximum out of your rainwear requires a bit of care. After heavy use of your jacket, the DWR coating will slowly begin to wear off, removing a layer of defence and leaving the fabric exposed. If you find that your jacket becomes heavy when exposed to rain, or your skin feels a bit clammy under the fabric, there's a good chance the DWR coating has worn off, or it has "wet-out." This doesn't mean, however, that your jacket has reached the end of its life. It can be rejuvenated by washing and at times re-waterproofing treatment. Removing dirt/ blood and stains and drying the jacket properly after use and before storage are critical. See the Stoney Creek rainwear care guide for more details.
AS YOU CAN SEE, THERE ARE A LOT OF CONSIDERATIONS TO MAKE WHEN CHOOSING THE MOST APPROPRIATE RAINWEAR GARMENT FOR YOUR NEXT HUNTING APPLICATION. RATHER THAN JUST CHOOSING THE HIGHEST NUMBER OR THE LIGHTEST WEIGHT, WE RECOMMEND CHOOSING THE RIGHT APPLICATION FIRST AND THEN FINDING THE CORRECT BALANCE OF PERFORMANCE ATTRIBUTES THAT WILL MAXIMISE YOUR EXPERIENCE THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE DURATION OF YOUR TRIP… WHETHER THAT IS A QUICK AFTERNOON HUNT WITH A CHANCE OF A SHOWER, OR A 10-DAY EXPEDITION INTO THE DAMP AND WET WEATHER IN FIORDLAND. HAVING A GOOD UNDERSTANDING OF YOUR GEAR, HOW IT PERFORMS, HOW TO LAYER ACCORDINGLY, AND HOW TO MAINTAIN YOUR GARMENTS TO GET THE BEST OUT OF THEM IS CRUCIAL. TREAT YOUR TECHNICAL APPAREL WITH AS MUCH CARE AND MAINTENANCE AS YOU DO YOUR RIFLE OR OPTICS AND IT WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU WHEN OUT IN THE MOUNTAINS OR THE FORESTS. Insulation
Static | Active | Lightweight| Tough
When you need to perform at your peak during those blustery cold mid-winter hunts, our Insulation Layer series can be worn underneath a rainproof shell or as an outer layer when the rain isn’t an issue. Keep your core warm - so when you’re in the zone, your senses are firing on all cylinders.
Understanding INsulation
Getting to the core and simplifying the insulation purchase decision Q&A WITH KERRY CRAWFORD from STONEY CREEK.
OUT IN THE RUGGED AND MOUNTAINOUS TERRAINS THAT WE AS HUNTERS LIKE TO CALL OUR PLAYGROUND, MOTHER NATURE CAN BE AT HER MOST EXTREME, WITH WIDELY SWINGING TEMPERATURES PLUMMETING DOWN TO SUBZERO, A CRUCIAL DECISION FOR ANY HUNTER IS CHOOSING THE RIGHT INSULATION LAYERS THAT CAN NOT ONLY OFFER COMFORT AND PERFORMANCE BUT WHICH CAN BE CALLED ON AS A CRITICAL LIFESAVING ITEM IN THE WORST-CASE SCENARIO. HERE AT STONEY CREEK, OUR PHILOSOPHY IS BUILT AROUND PURPOSE-BUILT GEAR, DESIGNED AND OPTIMISED TO PERFORM DURING A SPECIFIC HUNTING APPLICATION, SO THAT YOU WILL MAXIMISE YOUR EXPERIENCE DURING THAT ADVENTURE.
HERE TO HELP SIMPLIFY THE TECHNICAL, DEMYSTIFY THE COMPLEX SPECIFICATIONS AND CONFUSING NUMBERS AND RATINGS IS NEW PRODUCT DEVELOPER AT STONEY CREEK, KERRY CRAWFORD. KERRY EXPLORES SOME OF THE MOST FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS AND WILL HELP TO PROVIDE YOU WITH THE RIGHT KNOWLEDGE TO ENSURE YOUR NEXT INSULATION PURCHASE IS THE RIGHT ONE, THAT WILL LAST FOR YEARS, AND HAVE YOUR NEXT EXPERIENCE OUT HUNTING FULLY MAXIMISED.
1. QUESTION: So why is the insulation layer such an important one for a hunter heading into the hills? On any given day hunting in remote locations the conditions will range from windy, wet and cold, to exposed, hot and dry with everything in between. A good insulation layer is a key player in your clothing layer team, it is the piece that will give you protection from the cold and the ability to stay out longer. A good insulation layer will maximise warmth without adding bulk or weighing you down.
2. QUESTION: What are the common applications hunters use insulation in, and what are the key considerations to understand for choosing what gear to take on those trips? The typical scenario is the hunter will use their insulation at the start and end of the day when the temperature is low and they are not as active. During the day your insulation layer will be put on when stopping to refuel or stopping to glass etc. The choice of insulation is very tied to the activity level and the expected terrain. The Accelerant is the choice for shoulder season fast and light hunting trips where your activity level is high. The Ignitor is your "go-to" jacket when the temps drop and you are going to spend less time moving. The Frostline covers you for all day warmth and concealment when you are moving all day.
3. QUESTION: How is the difference between fill weight and fill power? Fill power, (also referred to as Loft Power or CUI) is a measurement of how much volume, measured in cubic inches 1oz of down takes up. To complete the test 1 ounce of conditioned down is
placed in a measurement cylinder, and a lightly weighted disc is placed on top. The disc is left to slowly compresses down, after exactly 1 minute the height of the disc is recorded as the CUI fill power. The measurement goes from 500 cui to 900+ cui. The more volume created the more air is trapped and the warmer that 1 oz of down is.
Fill weight is how much Down in total is inside the garment. The goal is to create space between the cold outside and the warmth on the inside. To add volume, you can do one or two things.
1. Keep the same fill weight but add a higher lofting down. This will add no extra weight or bulk but increases warmth.
2. Increase the fill weight of the same down. This will increase the warmth but also increase the weight and pack volume.
It is important to know both fill power and fill weight of the fill in your jacket to get the true picture of how much insulation you can expect from your garment.
4. QUESTION: What about waterproof down jackets, then I don’t need a raincoat too? As well as the insulation the inner and outer fabrics play a huge part in how the garment will perform. Heavy face fabric will restrict the amount of loft of the insulation reducing the potential warmth. Laminations and membranes sound great but the reality is they can add weight, and a lack of air permeability can stop the fill lofting to its full potential reducing the amount of potential warmth.
At Stoney Creek we strongly believe the best combination is a lighter weight high performing insulation jacket under a lightweight waterproof breathable shell. This versatile system allows you to stash away the insulation when things heat up to stay comfortable under your Shell, also when you get back to camp you have a nice warm dry jacket to put on, keeping you comfortable.
For the Accelerant and Ignitor jackets, Stoney Creek uses XReflexTM fabric. XReflexTM is an innovative patented radiant barrier technology that reflects your energetic infrared body heat back to your body for improved thermal retention while leaving the fabric properties unaffected. Zero change in breathability, air permeability and no added weight. The super lightweight down-proof 15D fabric weighs only 25gm/ sqm and will not restrict the loft of the internal insulation.
5. QUESTION: What are better – Down or Synthetic fills? There are pros and cons with both fill types. But the lines are getting more blurred as technology is solving some of the traditional issues. High lofting Goose Down is still the gold standard for most warmth for weight. The Achilles heel has always been moisture and how quickly your jacket can go from puff to pancake in a rain shower. Downtek® Hydrophobic treatments have solved this issue and put Goose Down back on top and the number one choice when you want a lightweight, warm, packable insulation layer.
Synthetic fills are becoming more down like all the time but still cannot match the warmth to weight ratio of pure down. A strength of synthetic, apart from not being as affected by moisture, is the ability to avoid compression under load. This has advantages when used as part of a layer system when the inner layer is compressed under the load of a harness or other outer layers.
Primaloft® Gold Down Blend used in our Accelerant Jacket is the combination of 70% High lofting Hydrophobic Goose Down and 30% Hydrophobic Polyester synthetic insulation.
6. QUESTION: What does hydrophobic down mean? And do Stoney Creek products use it? Hydrophobic is water hating, (Hydrophilic is
water loving). Depending on the position of the layer and conditions it is being used in, you want fabrics to be hydrophobic or hydrophilic. In the case of your base layer, you want to remove moisture to keep your skin dry. Hydrophilic properties are key to achieving this outcome. For outer layers that are going to be exposed to moisture from external or internal dampness or rain, it is key to use hydrophobic materials or treatments. All Stoney Creek Insulation garments have hydrophobic treatments to give you ultimate protection and maximise your experience.
7. QUESTION: Is the Down you use in Stoney Creek products responsibly sourced? Yes, all of the Down we source is from certified responsibly sourced suppliers, this ensures that our down does not come from animals that have been subjected to any unnecessary harm, such as force-feeding or live-plucking. It also provides traceability in our supply chain. This includes the down component of the Primaloft® Down Blends used in our Insulation range.
8. QUESTION: Are your puffer jackets tough? And when is the right time to use them during the hunt? When you get to the cutting edge of performance and you are looking to maximise your experience, you have to consider all of your gear choices. Things that will give you the advantage and enable you to get to the places you need to be. To do this you need to understand the strengths and limitations of your gear choices. The triangle of needs for our insulation series is - 1. Light/ compact 2. Warm 3. Tough
The reality is you can be strong in two of these areas, but not three of these properties. So, if you want light/compact and warm it will not be as tough as something that is tough and light/compact, but this will not be as warm. So, decisions need to be made, you need to ask the right questions. Will I be using this while glassing and back at camp but will I be carrying this most of the day? I need Light/compact and warm, Accelerant or Ignitor. Will I spend the day pushing quietly through bush, then moving through low scrub to get close to game? I need Warm and Tough, e.g. Frostline.
AS YOU CAN SEE, THERE ARE A LOT OF CONSIDERATIONS TO MAKE WHEN CHOOSING THE MOST APPROPRIATE INSULATION GARMENT/S FOR YOUR NEXT HUNTING APPLICATION. RATHER THAN JUST CHOOSING THE PUFFIEST JACKET, OR THE LIGHTEST WEIGHT, WE RECOMMEND CHOOSING THE RIGHT APPLICATION FIRST AND THEN FINDING THE CORRECT BALANCE OF PERFORMANCE ATTRIBUTES THAT WILL MAXIMISE YOUR EXPERIENCE THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE DURATION OF YOUR TRIP… WHETHER THAT IS A SUB ALPINE DAY TRIP, OR A 10 DAY EXPEDITION INTO THE BIG ALPINE COUNTRY WITH LONG HOURS STATIC BEHIND THE GLASS. HAVING A GOOD UNDERSTANDING OF YOUR GEAR, HOW IT PERFORMS, HOW TO LAYER ACCORDINGLY, AND HOW TO MAINTAIN YOUR GARMENTS TO GET THE BEST OUT OF THEM IS CRUCIAL. TREAT YOUR TECHNICAL APPAREL WITH AS MUCH CARE AND MAINTENANCE AS YOU DO YOUR RIFLE OR OPTICS, AND IT WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU WHEN OUT IN THE MOUNTAINS OR THE FORESTS. INTRODUCING
RADIANT BARRIER TECHNOLOGY THAT REFLECTS THE BODY’S HEAT LOSS BACK
HeiQ XReflexTM utilises ultra-thin surface coatings, radiant barriers, to reflect radiant body heat. By increasing heat retention, HeiQ XReflexTM can allow less insulation material to be used, reducing weight, bulk and environmental footprint while also increasing breathability. By using HeiQ XReflexTM technology on the Stoney Creek Ignitor (static insulation) and Accelerant (active insulation) jackets we've created incredibly lightweight and packable insulation solutions for the discerning technical hunter.

understanding Mid layers
Adapting to suit the conditions - SIMPLIFYING THE MID LAYER PURCHASE DECISION Q&A WITH KERRY CRAWFORD FROM STONEY CREEK.
WHETHER YOU NEED TO ADD AN EXTRA LAYER DURING THOSE COOLER STARTS OR ENDS TO THE DAY, OR WHEN YOU ARE HUNTING THROUGHOUT THE SEASONS AND NEED THE VERSATILITY TO ADAPT TO SUIT THE FOREVER CHANGING TEMPERATURES, WEATHERS OR TERRAINS, THE STONEY CREEK MID LAYER RANGE PROVIDES YOU WITH PLENTY OF OPTIONS TO ADAPT YOUR TECHNICAL CLOTHING TO MEET YOUR DEMANDS.
WITH KEY CONSIDERATIONS AROUND WAMRTH, FULL LENGTH CONCEALMENT AND PROTECTION, BREATHABILITY, COMFORT AND WEIGHT, KERRY CRAWFORD WILL HELP ANSWER SOME OF THE FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS WE GET HERE AT STONEY CREEK AND HELP TO PEEL BACK THE LAYERS OF COMPLEXITY AROUND CHOOSING THE RIGHT MID LAYER FOR YOUR NEXT HUNTING MISSION.
1. QUESTION: Why are mid-layers so important?
Mid-layers are often the most misunderstood article in your outdoor wardrobe. The midlayer is the Swiss army knife of apparel. It can be layered for warmth, removed for cooling, added for protection or concealment. Among the many needs this part of your clothing system is asked to be lightweight and packable but still functional, economical and durable. Often worn more not Hunting, as it is in the field.
2. QUESTION: What is the difference between a mid-layer and an insulation layer?
The strong benefit of a mid-layer garment is the way it works with layers above and below it. Breathability and air permeability are key to providing comfort and keeping the ideal microclimate near your skin. With many insulation layers, the addition of a windblocking membrane creates a barrier that will dramatically affect the way air and moisture can move through layers. Stoney Creek Mid-layer garments do not have
membranes or treatments to block the wind. Insulation layers do - because they are often worn as outerlayers when it is not raining and have membranes or manufacturing techniques to limit or eliminate wind from penetrating.
3. QUESTION: So how do I know what midlayer to buy?
You should always start with the same questions, what are the worst conditions that I expect to encounter? And how much will the conditions fluctuate? Am I looking for warmth, concealment or protection? How much do I expect to carry if I have to remove a layer? These simple questions will help to guide you to the perfect mid-layer garment. Stoney creek Mid-layers can be placed in three main categories.
• Lightweight - is a thinner material. Garments in this category are often more packable, breathable, and don’t insulate as well as Midweight or heavyweight options. Lightweight is optimal for high-output
activities, protection or concealment, or a "just-in-case" take along in the bottom of your pack. Examples: Fast Hunt in Tuatara® Camo for lightweight concealment- Microplus for packable back up.
• Midweight is typically the most versatile because they breathe well but still provide a fair amount of warmth. If you need a garment that works for some high-output activities but can still function as a warm layer on cool days, midweight is the one to get. Examples: Microprime for warmth without bulk, Microtough for quick drying protection.
• Heavyweight- is when you need warmth and do not mind bulk to get it. Thick and durable, not windproof like an Insulation layer but perfect under a shell layer when you are not moving much, and want to stay warm. Examples: Performance Plus for durability and extra warmth.
4. QUESTION: Why do we still use fleece?
Fleece over the years has been overtaken by cheaper and cheaper options on a race
to the bottom. At Stoney Creek we are not interested in cutting corners to produce the cheapest item we can, even if on the surface it looks the same there is a massive performance, durability and longevity difference between good fleece and cheap fleece.
There are many reasons why at Stoney Creek we still use multi-high filament polyester yarn in our mid-layer garments.
Polyester yarn has many performance benefits that can still not be beaten.
A low denier micro yarn (<75D) can hold less than 1% of its weight in water, staying light and warm while providing dry times that other fabrics simply cannot match.
A high strength polyester filament it can be single or double knitted then brushed on one, or both sides to give a pile that will trap air to keep you warm.
It will not stretch after being worn, or shrink when washed after the dog has slept on it. Hydrophilic by nature blood, and spilt coffee will wash right out and it can be washed in a bucket, or thrown in a top load or front load washing machine for ease of care. Because fleece is a single layer it is super silent, and will not rustle or give you away when pushing through the bush.
5. QUESTION: What is new for Mid-layer? The evolution for the midweight layer category is a new product, the Microprime range. 95% Recycled polyester 75D x100D 144F Micro yarn, 5% Elastane Double knitted and brushed on the inside layer.
The Microprime has a thick plush feel with huge amounts of stretch, perfect midweight layer over your IceDry or Thermal Dry base layer. The smooth face will not bind to other layers allowing less restrictive movement. Available in a crew neck pullover that will slip under your outer layers with lots of extra warmth with very little bulk, and a versatile Quarter Zip top that looks as good on the golf course as it does in the bush. THERE ARE A LOT OF CONSIDERATIONS TO MAKE WHEN CHOOSING THE MOST APPROPRIATE MID LAYER FOR YOUR NEXT HUNTING TRIP. BUT RATHER THAN JUST CHOOSING THE HIGHEST NUMBER, CHEAPEST, OR THE LIGHTEST WEIGHT, WE RECOMMEND CHOOSING THE RIGHT APPLICATION FIRST AND THEN FINDING THE CORRECT BALANCE OF PERFORMANCE ATTRIBUTES THAT WILL MAXIMISE YOUR EXPERIENCE THROUGHOUT YOUR HUNT. HAVING A GOOD UNDERSTANDING OF YOUR GEAR, HOW IT PERFORMS, HOW TO LAYER ACCORDINGLY, AND HOW TO MAINTAIN YOUR GEAR IS CRUCIAL. BASE LAYER
Thermal I Cooling I Moisture Wicking I Odour control
Keeping your next-to-skin layer dry is the key to your entire layering system's performance. Whether it's cooling in the summer, or warmth in the winter, your technical base layer is a crucial decision to ensure you stay comfortable and focused throughout the hunt.
Understanding Base Layers
Baring all on your next to skin layers & understanding base layers
GETTING PERFORMANCE CLOTHING NEXT TO SKIN IS EVERY BIT AS IMPORTANT AS THE TECHNICAL RAINWEAR SHELLS AND OUTER LAYERS. HERE AT STONEY CREEK OUR PHILOSOPHY IS BUILT AROUND PURPOSE-BUILT GEAR, DESIGNED AND OPTIMISED TO PERFORM DURING A SPECIFIC HUNTING APPLICATION, SO THAT YOU WILL MAXIMISE YOUR EXPERIENCE DURING THAT ADVENTURE. HERE AT STONEY CREEK, WE OFTEN GET ASKED ‘DO YOU GUYS TO POLYPROPS’, “WHAT’S THE BEST T-SHIRT TO WEAR HUNTING?” OR “WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A THERMAL OR A COOLING BASE LAYER”. HERE TO HELP SIMPLIFY THE CONVERSATION AND GET YOU IN THE RIGHT STONEY CREEK PRODUCT TO PERFORM IS OUR PRODUCT DESIGNER KERRY CRAWFORD, WHO WILL HELP SIMPLIFY THE TECHNICAL FABRICS, EXPLAIN HOW MOISTURE MOVES, AND PROVIDE YOU WITH THE EXPERTISE NEEDED TO ENSURE YOUR NEXT BASE LAYER CLOTHING PURCHASE IS THE RIGHT ONE.
1. QUESTION: What role does a Base Layer play in a complete technical layering system for hunters? The Base layer is an important part of your layer system, it is the layer that will control your comfort level. The performance of the Base layer can be the difference between being comfortable and uncomfortable. Get the Base Layer wrong and you limit the performance of the layers above it.
2. QUESTION: What Base Layers should I buy? Cooling or thermal? And during what seasons should I wear them? The primary role of any base layer is to control the microclimate next to your skin by moving moisture away from your body. The secondary role relates to either trapping or removing the metabolic heat your body generates.
During Summer you want this heat to be able to escape through a combination of removal of trapped moisture, and airflow for evaporative cooling. Ice Dry fabric with zoned mesh panels uses capillary action to draw moisture off the surface of your skin transferring it to the surface of the fabric. This is done without the addition of wicking chemicals, that only have temporary effectiveness. Guaranteeing you will as be as cool and comfortable at the end of summer as you were at the beginning.
Winter base layers should still transfer moisture off your skin, but the secondary role is to trap the heat, holding it next to the skin acting as your first thermal layer. Merino wool for example is excellent at this, with the ability to draw moisture without huge loss of thermal ability.
3. QUESTION: Are your Base Layers synthetic or natural? If you are going to sweat a lot because of activity or climate you need to wear a synthetic base layer. Performance Polyester absorbs only around 0.4% of its own weight in water and thus dries very fast, while also efficiently wicking moisture away from the skin to spread it on the outside of the fabric where it can be pulled away by evaporation keeping you cool and dry. Cotton fibres are hydrophilic and will soak up moisture and store it in the cellular walls of the fibre holding the damp wet fabric against your skin.
Merino is a natural fibre that does a better job than cotton of removing moisture from your skin This is possible because only the inner part of the Merino fibre absorbs water while the outer part which lies against your skin stays dry. Therefore, Merino wool base layers efficiently eliminate the conductive heat loss. However, the dry times and low durability of Super Fine Merino are issues. Merino is thermal and naturally odour fighting, but Polyester is lighter, Stronger and dries faster than Merino wool. So, the fusion of Merino and Polyester in the Thermal Dry base layer range creates the ultimate cold weather base layer.
4. QUESTION: My rain jacket seems to be leaking as my cotton T-shirt is always soaked after wearing my jacket. Why is that? The Capillary action of cotton will pull moisture from the body and but rather than transfer it to the surface of the fabric like Ice Dry, it will hold it in the
fabric making your Tee Shirt water logged. The thermal conductivity of water is much higher than the thermal conductivity of air. If your apparel gets soaked with sweat, your body heat is rapidly transmitted to it through conduction and you lose warmth rapidly. Waterproof Breathable rainwear relies on the pressure differential created by warmth inside driving moisture vapour outside towards the cold environment. Because the Cotton has robbed your internal micro-climate of this ability, the moisture is able to build up and you will feel wet and cold even if water is not penetrating your outer layers.
5. QUESTION: How many base layers should I take with me on my hunting trips? The sensation of comfort is felt at a skin level, if your skin is wet and cold, you will feel wet and cold no matter what layers you have on top. So, a dry base layer is the fastest way to return heat into your system, conversely your body will be very slow to heat if you have wet layers next to your skin. Carrying a spare base layer to switch out at appropriate times can be a game changer. Consider at the end of the day how you are going to dry any moisture out of your wet base layers for the following day.
AS YOU CAN SEE, THERE ARE A LOT OF CONSIDERATIONS TO MAKE WHEN CHOOSING THE MOST APPROPRIATE BASE LAYER GARMENT FOR YOUR NEXT HUNTING APPLICATION. RATHER THAN NEGLECTING YOUR NEXT-TO-SKIN LAYER OR CHOOSING FABRICS WHICH MAY NOT PERFORM TO THE CONDITIONS, WE RECOMMEND SPENDING SOME TIME TO UNDERSTAND THE HUNTING APPLICATION FIRST AND THEN FINDING THE CORRECT BALANCE OF PERFORMANCE ATTRIBUTES THAT WILL MAXIMISE YOUR EXPERIENCE THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE DURATION OF YOUR TRIP, WHETHER THAT IS A QUICK AFTERNOON HUNT THROUGHOUT THE SEASONS, OR A 10 DAY EXPEDITION INTO THE BACKCOUNTRY WHERE MINIMUM WEIGHT, QUICK DRYING PERFORMANCE AND COMPACT VOLUME ARE HUGE DECISIONS YOU HAVE TO MAKE WHEN SELECTING WHAT GEAR TO TAKE. Polygiene is redefining freshness and reimagining product protection to drive a sustainability revolution. Polygiene makes products that are more hygienic and smell less – which means they need less washing and are longer-lasting.
Polygiene Stay Fresh: technology stops the growth of odour-causing bacteria and fungi in the material. Which makes our gear stay fresh and hygienic.
POLYGIENE® ODOR-CRUNCH technology consists of silica, the main ingredient is sand, modified with a unique catalyst that breaks down the odour. Once the odour molecules are adsorbed they will be catalytically cracked and broken down and the offensive odour is permanently eliminated.

Join our sisterhood. A community of like-minded women.
Understanding the Sisterhood
1. QUESTION: What inspired the creation of the Stoney Creek Sisterhood range?
After graduating from Fashion Design School in Otago, I gravitated towards functional clothing design over fashion. This shift coincided with my first hunting trip that turned into a very uncomfortable experience in men’s pants. But those pants changed my life and my career path too. Since then I have been on a mission to bring technical outdoor Hunting clothing to women. Fast forward to today I’m so stoked to still be doing this and with Stoney Creek.
2. QUESTION: Within your time at Stoney Creek and in outdoor clothing design in general, what are the needs of women that the Stoney Creek Sisterhood range of products looks to meet?
First and foremost, comfort and functionality are key, developing the right textile technology to meet that need and compatibility of how the products are going to be worn with other items in the range. One example being the women’s Frostline Jacket, we needed to ensure the chest pockets were comfortable when small items would be stored in them. Placing bust darts into the gusseted pocket itself meant that when gear is stored in the pockets the volume does not press back towards the bust making the garment restrictive.
3. QUESTION: What things make the Stoney Creek sisterhood range of products, different and better than anything else you have seen or experienced on the market?
I think the most valuable thing is that we have a range of women’s technical products and the depth of the range is still growing. This is important and vital - personal preferences are varied depending on your pursuit and we offer those options.
From personal experience way back in the day before I made this a career I had to make do with men’s small fits, or hand me downs and just put up with the discomfort. I think that experience alone drives me to ensure that women’s products are custom and fit for purpose.
4. QUESTION: What do you believe the most popular Sisterhood products are?
When thinking about this question it’s hard product pick just one product. As mentioned above the whole range offering was extremely well received by the women’s hunting community.
But if we were to speak purely about popular products that get the most yarns in the community it’s the SC Active tights. Stretchy, warm, and comfortable. The TCA colourway in the Frostline Jacket is also very popular, being a breathable wind resistant shell up on the hills is key and the TCA offering camouflage. I also believe the women’s Accelerant will become a key favourite coming into winter, the light weight to warmth ratio of this jacket is extremely well balanced.
5. QUESTION: What products do you believe more Women hunters need to be giving a go (e.g. what products may not be that popular yet, but once they are tried will showcase exactly why women specific designs are so important)
The women’s Hunt Guard trousers. This product is a visual representation of why our women’s range is specifically tailored to the female form. Side by side with the Men’s Hunt Guard trousers they look completely different. Instead of the trousers looking like the men’s in a women’s fit, we have spent time understanding how women would prefer this style and how the fabric technology should function for them. The style is fitting as the fabric has incredible supportive stretch, with low-profile storage pockets at the thighs to remove bulk around the hips, and easier access when longer jackets are worn.
After wearing these I believe our customers will realise the combo of stretch, comfort and durability and will be their ‘go-to’ for rugged experiences that will keep them protected.
6. QUESTION: When it comes to humans in general, getting sizing right for everyone is hard at the best of times. What challenges have you encountered specifically when it comes to women’s clothing and how has the Stoney Creek sisterhood range looked to overcome this?
The human body is incredible, for women our bodies are capable to adapt to so many different situations throughout life, from young energetic bodies, to motherhood, throw in some injuries and the natural changes as we get older - Our bodies are remarkable! We also adapt to the environment and surrounding we expose ourselves to through our interests, passions, and careers.
So yes, we are all different but I love that! From a clothing perspective it’s about comfort and the idea that one item of clothing fits the mould for all women is impossible. But to bridge that gap we understand that the sensation of comfort comes from flexibility and stretch of technical fabrics, cunning design and tried and tested grading rules to cater for the wonderful variances in sizes the best we can.
7. QUESTION: What feedback have you seen/heard about the sisterhood range? And how has this motivated/inspire/fuel your passion for design?
The women’s hunting community is very interactive which is great! Whether it's on-line, talking to women at shows and events, or reaching out to our female test team, the feedback is awesome. The Sisterhood range is in its sixth year now, and the bond we’ve built with the community is strong, and they can see that we are not taking the throttle off. This interaction keeps us charged up to continue to develop and evolve the range.
8. QUESTION: What is your favourite Stoney Creek sisterhood product and why?
I have favourites for every season - being summer I’m living in my Apex Shorts. The functional pockets, stretch, and comfort hit all the needs for me - whether I’m out fishing, around home or at the gym these are my go to pair. I also love the Ice Dry base layers around this time of year to keep me comfortable in warmer temps. The technology in this base layer is epic, keeping me cool and fresh during high intensity climbs up hills, or training in the gym.
9. QUESTION: You work within a fairly male dominated industry, how do you feel the Stoney Creek team help to promote, inspire and fuel the Sisterhood??
I think we can start using past tense now. Hunting used to be a male dominated industry but look at it now – that old archetype has lost traction. For me I’ve always had the pull to the outdoors, testing my
body in the elements in exchange for joy and learning new skills. During the journey, I’ve experienced a mixture of negative abuse and positive encouragement for liking this type of life, and I know that journey is unique and varied for all women. Along the way, you naturally begin to align yourself with people/places/communities/careers that are on the same path of encouragement because they understand the ‘why’ we love being outdoors. I’ve been with Stoney Creek since 2009, the team and community are a massive positive force that keeps that inspiration burning.
10. QUESTION: How do you feel the sisterhood range of products helps to encourage, inspire or empower other women within the industry (hunting specific)?
Continuing on from my reply above, I hope because of the shared journey the Sisterhood Range is a backbone, and encouragement for women to get out there and be comfortable, protected, and enjoy what they love in gear that’s designed for them.
11. QUESTION: What is a product or moment you are most proud of with regards to the Sisterhood brand or range of products and why?
That’s incredibly hard to pick just one! There are so many reasons to be proud of the range and the women out there wearing it. I must admit I love Mystery Creek Fieldays because I get to talk to so many women about the gear, who they are, and what they do. I think it’s the community that I am most proud to be a part of.
12. QUESTION: If you could give any advice to a woman/women who is/are looking to get into Hunting and who may be confused and unsure where to start when it comes to finding good and the right gear, what would you say to her/them?
Well, if you’re reading this, that’s a great start, there’s a lot of information in this catalogue that will be helpful. Jump onto our website too for even more detailed information. I think one key thing to get your head around is understanding the concept of layering clothing – it’s so important when starting out. Having the correct base, mid, insulation, and rainwear layer can be life changing when you are exposed to the elements during your first hunting/outdoor experiences. Check out our layering system guide under the ‘OUR GUIDE’ tab on our website. Built

PACKS & BAGS
PACKS | Bags | Accessories
Having the right purpose built clothing and equipment for the hunt is one thing, keeping it protected, organised and ready for when you need it most is another. These packs and gear bags have been meticulously designed, with the hunter's needs in mind.
HUNTING PACK RANGE
Available in Tuatara® Camo or Bayleaf - our packs are designed with details and features to enhance your hunting experience. They each have a signature fit, are durable, reliable and functional when it’s needed most.
METICULOUSLY DESIGNED, WITH THE HUNTER IN MIND
WHAT MAKES STONEY CREEK PACKS PURPOSE BUILT FOR HUNTING?
We hunters use our packs in very different ways from other outdoor users. Because we do not stick to the beaten path, size and shape is important, hunter's packs must not restrict movement or hook up when trying to move quietly through the bush. We need to carry specialised gear and a lot of it is not designed to be carried in a pack. So special consideration must be given to organisation, attachment points and "on the move" access to important gear, as well as rifle and bow carry options. After a successful hunt the pack will be loaded with meat to be carried home, this knee buckling extra weight is expected and the pack needs to be reinforced and balanced to carry this load as safely and comfortably as possible.
WHY THE DIFFERENT FABRICS BEHIND THE CAMO AND BAYLEAF FOR THE BULLER AND MOHAKA MULTI DAY PACKS?
When hunting in close bush conditions wind and noise are your enemy, the scratching of a branch on your nylon pack can alert game to your presence. To combat this our TCF/TCA Tricord fabric has a brushed polyester face to keep you hidden and absorb this noise.
We also offer 500D PU coated Nylon Versions of the Buller and Mohaka Packs for hunters above the bushline, or in conditions where faster drytimes and being lighter weight are more of a priority.

FLY Camping
Tents | Flys | Sleeping Bags | Accessories
Anytime, anywhere. Stoney Creek tents and flys are robust enough to handle the realities of hunting, yet lightweight enough to be practical. Easy set up, because some days you won't be getting to your site till after dark and you'll be setting up camp under headlights.
FOUR SEASONS ONE MAN TENT
The Armadillo family of hunting tents are designed for outdoor adventurers who demand lightweight and packable tents for their backcountry expeditions, but who absolutely will not compromise on technical design, strength, reliability and the ultimate protection from the elements.
WHY WE MADE THE ARMADILLO
There are many tents on the market, some are super light and easy to break, some are hard to set up, especially in tough terrain or unpredictable conditions. Whilst being lightweight is important, we set out to design a range of tents that didn’t compromise on strength in high stress areas, and being able to be set up in all conditions is every bit as important. After using many tent brands with both good and bad experiences, we felt we could design more suitable and reliable options for the discerning outdoors adventurer. The design team and myself set about compiling all the feedback from our test team and customers, to design, test and construct a lightweight back country tent that can be used in a few ways and optimise your pack weight depending on the excursion. After 8+ prototypes and 4+ years of design and testing, we have come up with the Armadillo. It’s tough, it’s easy to set up, it's purpose-built for the back country terrain and weather, and it will maximise your experience.
QUICK SET UP
The rotating hub, clip on fly and durable Hypalon Sock system makes the Armadillo easy and quick to set up by yourself in challenging weather conditions
DURABLE MATERIALS
8.5 mm Yunan Pressfit Aluminum Poles for high strength-to-weight ratio, ultra tough Ripstop 30D 260T Sil/PU coated nylon Rain Fly and super strong Dyneema® Guy Lines
EXTERNAL POLES

Hunting for weight savings?
Think with your feet… with these new Purpose built Hunting Boots!
IT IS NOT ABOUT HOW LIGHT YOUR BOOTS ARE, IT IS HOW LIGHT THEY STAY. WITH HDRY® TECHNOLOGY YOUR BOOTS WILL NOT ABSORB AND HOLD ON TO WATER. THIS TRAPPED WATER ADDS WEIGHT. TESTING HAS PROVEN THAT THERE IS AN ENERGY DRAINING 5 TO 1 RATIO OF WEIGHT ON YOUR FEET VS YOUR BACK. SAVING 100 GRAMS ON YOUR FEET IS THE EQUIVALENT OF 500 GRAMS ON YOUR BACK. THE ENERGY YOU CAN SAVE BY THIS SIMPLE SHIFT WILL ALLOW YOU TO GO FURTHER, FASTER AND SAVE MORE ENERGY FOR THE HUNT.
1. Question: What are some of the key considerations for a hunter when choosing a boot?
There are many things to consider when choosing the right boot. Primarily you need to know the terrain you will be on, and how much weight you are going to carry on your back. The steeper the ground the stiffer the boot, so if you are going to spend time climbing up or around steep country carrying heavy loads, the support from boots with a less, or non-flexible midsole and forefoot will give you a solid platform to walk on. This combined with ankle support will spread the load over a wider surface saving your calves and lower legs. If however you are going to be on softer flatter ground, spending your day in and out of rivers and like to move quickly and quietly, a light weight boot that moves with you and gives you feeling through the forefoot will allow the largest amount of natural, smooth, silent forward movement.
2. Question: What is HDry® and what is so good about it?
HDry® is a revolutionary Seamless Waterproof breathable laminate on the inside of the Stoney Creek Stalker and Explorer boots. An innovative lamination process is used to bond a membrane directly onto the inner surface of the uppers. This completely seals every potential point where water could get in. Because It leaves no space between the upper and the membrane water cannot penetrate into the shoe. There is therefore no increase in weight and the footwear dries more quickly. Designed specifically for foot protection, HDry® uses a hydrophilic membrane that is extremely breathable and has a high sweat dispersion capability (SATRA TM 47 test). It leaves a dry air space between the membrane and foot, allowing ideal conditions to be maintained. The HDRY® membrane has exceptional elasticity and resistance to repeated flexing.
TAKE WATERPROOF TO THE NEXT LEVEL! revolutionary seamless HDry® construction
3. Question: What happened to your Greywacke boots, they were so comfortable and my favourite?
It took a lot of work to make something as good as the Greywacke better - and the Explorer is just that. We started from the ground and worked up, the Vibram® Cheetah Outsole designed specifically by Vibram® for hunting, offered a great balance between grip on unstable ground and high mileage wear. The aggressive lugs bite into the ground and the deep heel offers excellent braking downhill. The Midsole was upgraded to a tapered Nylon 66 full length board. Support through the entire stride with extra focus on restricting torsional flex. We kept the full gain Nubuck leather upper but rather than the bootie construction added the revolutionary HDry® seamless laminated waterproof breathable membrane. In SATRA TM 444 Centrifugal testing this saves a massive 400grams per boot when wet compared to dry. Finally we updated the hardware and wrapped the rubber rand all the way around the boot for more protection. Importantly we kept the 'out of the box' comfort and extra width that people loved.
Using revolutionary seamless HDry® construction. There is NO SPACE between the boot upper and the waterproof membrane. This eliminates trapped water weight and speeds up the drying time. Less than 5% water retention = less weight on your feet means more gas in the tank!
EXPLORER BOOT DURABLE | LIGHT | WATERPROOF
For those that love and trust the durability and support of leather, the Explorer is our most advanced hunting boot ever. Ideal for the all-round hunter whose playground knows no limits, and explores unchartered new territory both above and below the bushline. The Explorer features HDRY®, a patented one piece waterproofing breathable membrane that has been heat bonded to the ultra tough Nubuck Leather. A full NYLON66 fibreglass insole hardboard provides maximum support when carrying heavy loads over long distances in rough unforgiving terrains - above and below the bushline, PORON® XRD offers long-lasting comfort and the specialist VIBRAM® Cheetah hunting sole provides superior grip and stability in loose rocky mountain, or dense and damp forest floor environments.
DARK OLIVE: HFM-0355-VDO | SIZES: 6 - 14
Tongue: soft and flexible pig skin leather

STALKER BOOT LIGHT | WATERPROOF | LOW PROFILE
Designed specifically for those who take their close-proximity bush stalking seriously, and who demand lightweight performance, low profile design, comfort and enhanced feel underfoot. The Stalker boots feature HDry® construction. HDry® is a revolutionary patented seamless membrane technology that is bonded directly to the inside of the 600 Denier Polyester outer fabric. Eliminating any space between the fabrics so water cannot penetrate into the boots. Keeping the Stalker lighter and faster drying than traditional leather boots.
The Stalker boot features a BONTEX® hardboard midsole with an engineered flex zone, designed to allow the largest amount of natural, smooth, silent forward movement without sacrificing the boot’s ability to provide ankle and mid-foot support, giving you the critical edge during your bush stalk.
PORON® XRD offers long lasting comfort while the VIBRAM® Cheetah sole cradles your foot, keeping your heel bone centred and providing stability with every foot placement.

Our Size Charts are of ‘Body Measurements’ not garment measurement. To determine what size you fall into ensure to measure against your body. It is best to ask another to help so that you can assume a natural standing position. When using the measuring tape it is important not to pull tight on the tape, the tape should be without tension and sit comfortably against the body. For a natural measurement one finger should be under the tape, this allows for ‘ease and natural movement’.
