PRODUCTS USED: • STONKOTE GS4 TEXTURE 2. TEXTURE 4 OC Transpo serves nearly 370,000 riders each day with a fleet of over 1,000 buses and three trains. The Articulated Bus Service Facility is an energy efficient, environmentally aware, employee-friendly, state-of-the-art facility with the capacity to store and service OC Transpo’s extensive articulated bus fleet. THE CHALLENGE This brand new facility required a durable, safe and hard wearing flooring solution. With budget and time restraints, the flooring system needed to address these issues while ultimately providing the best possible solution for this large space under a variety of challenging environmental conditions. Stonhard was given the task to install new flooring in the maintenance bays, wash bays and under the bus lifts.
THE STONHARD SOLUTION At the ground level of this large facility, the Stonhard Team installed a system that met all of the requirements. The maintenance bays were covered with 2 coats of Stonkote GS4, with texture 4. The wash bays were given 3 coats of Stonkote GS4 and texture 4. Finally, the areas under the bus lifts were covered with 2 coats of Stonkote GS4 and texture 2. Stonkote GS4 is a two-component, 100% solids, general service epoxy coating. It is formulated to increase abrasion and chemical resistance while improving cleanability. Stonkote GS4 is easily applied and hardens to an attractive gloss finish, while protecting against moisture penetration.
