The MTS Centre is an indoor sports arena and entertainment venue in downtown Winnipeg, Manitoba and home of the Winnipeg Jets of the National Hockey League. THE CHALLENGE This massive sports complex originally opened in 2004 and was undergoing a revitalization project, in advance of the 2011/2012 NHL Hockey Season. The owners of this facility wanted a fresh new flooring solution that would provide outstanding aesthetics to the concourse areas and washrooms. The concourse areas required 67,000 square feet of new flooring and 7,000 square feet were to be installed in the Men’s and Women’s washrooms. All of this work was to be completed in just 21 days.
THE STONHARD SOLUTION The Stonhard Team recommended our Stontec flooring system, in Santa Cruz flake colour, for this Recreation and Entertainment complex. Stontec EFC was installed in two levels of the concourse walking areas and Stontec ERF was installed in 30 washrooms throughout the building. Stontec flooring systems offer a dense, stain resistant flake system with an extensive range of finishes and colour options. Stontec EFC is a 100% solids, epoxy resin based decorative flake system. Perfect as a cost-effective, aesthetically pleasing solution. Stontec ERF is designed for use over new and existing smooth concrete floors and applied with minimum installation time.
