Installation of the wind turbines which provide this valuable resource can be complicated and costly. It is important that required components and installation materials are user-friendly and provide the greatest long-term reliability to maximize initial investment value. The working life of any wind turbine installation will last only as long as its weakest component. Five Star Products offer Epoxy and Cement Grout solutions to ensure that grouting will never be the limiting factor in a wind turbine’s working life! WHY FIVE STAR GROUTS? The wind turbine base handles the primary stress associated with torque generated by the massive spinning turbine. It is imperative that the grout which supports the base provides high strength and as much surface area as possible to transfer the load evenly to the underlying concrete base. Five Star offers the only true precision non-shrink grout solutions engineered specifically to provide not only high strength, but also maximum possible Effective Bearing Area to ensure optimal load transfer. Use of grouts without the combined capabilities inherent in the Five Star solution can result in turbine misalignment with subsequent structural failures‌ a shorter turbine working life.
FIVE STAR® DP EPOXY GROUT This versatile, dual purpose product from Five Star is an expansive, non-shrink, low exotherm epoxy system engineered to provide high strength and superior creep resistance combined with a 95% or better effective bearing area. Five Star DP Epoxy Grout exhibits positive expansion when tested in accordance with ASTM C 827, has a long working time, and can reach a one-day compressive strength (ASTM C 579B) of approximately 11,000 psi*. FIVE STAR® HP EPOXY GROUT A high performance expansive, non-shrink epoxy System, Five Star HP Epoxy Grout is formulated to exhibit high early strength combined with the highest creep resistance at elevated temperatures, as well as a 95% or better effective bearing area. Five Star HP Epoxy Grout exhibits positive expansion when tested in accordance with ASTM C 827 and can reach a 16-hour compressive strength (ASTM C 579B) of approximately 11,000 psi*. FIVE STAR® HIGH STRENGTH GROUT The industry leading cement-based, nonmetallic, non-shrink grout, Five Star® High Strength Grout provides great placement versatility (dry-pack, pour, pump), can reach compressive strengths of up to 6,000 psi* in one day and up to 11,000 psi* in seven days, and is non-shrink from the time of placement. Five Star® High Strength Grout is formulated with Air Release technology, combining the highest performance with the greatest reliability, having a 95% or better effective bearing area . When tested in accordance with ASTM C 827, Five Star High Strength Grout exhibits positive expansion. * Compressive strength gains are dependent on temperature and placement consistency.
