SÉANCE
THE CARDS
Séance – The CARDS Are you ready to unveil your destiny? This delicate piece of art was crafted by the mastermind Rafael Marquetto, where he translated ‘Séance’ into 6 hand drawn oracle cards to help guide your soul
into a luminous path, towards fate.
While this game was created, Paulo Coelho’s book, ‘The Alchemist’, fell in my hands and only then I realised Rafael is amongst the few real Alchemists… To understand the game you must be aware, pay attention to the omens and most importantly understand the language of the Universe. “When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to
achieve it.”
— Paulo Coelho, The Alchemist
Instructions #1 This board will show you the Dominating Energy of the day.
1. Shuffle cards 2. Place one randomly on the Master Soul.
Instructions #2 On this board, you will be guided on a path to master the elements of your soul.
1. Shuffle the cards 2. Place them in the slots facing down, and the remaining one in the centre and it will be revealed last. 3. Reveal the card on the element you feel more comfortable with. Use this card abilities in combination with the element abilities; the card symbolises an aspect of your souls character while the element will tell you how to understand/change that aspect of your character. 4. When the current combination is understood you can move to the next element in a clockwise manner, repeating the process. 5. In case you feel you want to fix that aspect of your character you can use the elemental arrows (arrows shown in the deck) to navigate to the previous element. For example if you are at metal and you are not comfortable with the element nor the card you can move one element back, in this case fire. Once you master Fire you can the proceed to the next element in the clockwise manner. 6. The game is completed once all the cards are revealed.
Slots Water: This element is your ability to deal with situations. It’s about moving around, embracing and shaping yourself into something different. Wood: This is the slot of versatility. It’s an active element, in contrast to water which is a passive force. It’s the means to achieve something. Fire: The element of transmutation and adaptability. The card you put on this slot will show you the creature that can guide you in the process of changing things within. Your ability to swap or replace feelings and emotional energy to the others. For instance: to turn anger into motivation. Sadness into Joy. Earth: The card in the earth slot will represent your stability card, the thing that grounds you, that shapes your sense of belonging. Metal: This slot is about being rigid, relating to things we have to figuratively kill in our lives, to end things, to cut relations, to say no, to be combative.
Cards
Each card represents an aspect of your character.
The Lilith: This card describes temptation, the desire to engage in short-term urges for enjoyment which threatens long-term goals, dreams and hopes. In religious context it describes a sin.[1]
The Messiah: This card represents selfishness and ego-centrism. It’s based on the messianic delusional syndrome which expresses a serious impairment of identity and reflects a social, cultural and religious reality through generations. The individual is convinced he was chosen by God and has special powers to achieve this mission. It’s a flight from the human sphere in an attempt to become God.[2]
The Rat: This card represents the parasite, the person who receives support, advantage, or the like, from another or others without giving any useful or proper return, as one who lives on the hospitality of others.
The Conscious: This card represents the, at its simplest, the “sentience or awareness of internal and external existence”.[3] Having perceptions, thoughts, and feelings; awareness. It is impossible to specify what it is, what it does, or why it has evolved.[4]
The Holy: This card symbolises enlightenment. The holy spirit is God’s power in action, his active force. (Micah 3:8; Luke 1: 35) God sends out his spirit by projecting his energy to any place to accomplish his will. —Psalm 104:30; 139:7.
The Guardian: This card represents the protection of faith and ideals. A cherub is one of the unearthly beings, having numerous depictions assigning them many different roles, such as protecting the entrance of the Garden of Eden.
