One very popular type of photography is taking pictures of pets. It is like mostly all types of photography. It can be hard for a newbie but easy for a person that has been taking pet photos for a while. A great majority of the population has a pet or two. The only thing is that there isn't only one type of pet, there are many. And all of these pets are not the same and require different photographing techniques to get great shots of them. The biggest difference from pet photos to people photos is that the pets don't know really what you're doing and are not going to sit still while you set up your aperture. The big question then comes...how do you take photos of pets successfully? When I think of animal pictures I think of one of the hardest types to get, birds. Birds in motion are extremely difficult to get and even when they're sitting still you have to be quick or else they'll be flying away. When taking shots of pets, even though they're domesticated most of the time, you still need to be fast and take pictures of them at the right moment. There is always that perfect shot when a pet gives the perfect pose. Different angles for the animals you photograph will result in different feelings. If you take a shot of a dog from your standing up point the dog will look like it's beginning the camera. If you get lower and towards the dogs eye level the dog will seem more normal. Animals in cages can be a problem if you leave them in there. A good solution is simply to take them out of the little cage they're in and photograph them without bars. One really good trick for taking pictures of animals is to use little snacks or food to get them to come to you. The only problem is that they'll be eating and looking at the ground. You've got to get the shot right after they finish eating and right before they come running for more food. Digital photographs of pets can be really fun to do. Just practice and try taking different photos of different pets. The more different pets you take shots of the more flexible you'll be and ready you'll be at taking any photo of any different type of animal.
