Our Emerald Gala Ball raises funds for scholarships that provide support to local families and their daughters in need. Glen Alchin of Macarthur United Real Estate reflects on his support and contribution to the Scholarship Fund: “I am a big believer that education opens doors. Young children don’t choose to live in poverty, they fall into it through circumstances beyond their control. As a father of a St Pat’s girl, and a local business owner, I see the value of giving young girls access to great education, opportunities, and support. As the only all-girls school in the Macarthur area, St Patrick’s College offers a secure and supportive environment for local girls who will thrive in such a setting. The father of a scholarship recipient reveals: “I have two daughters. Their mother left us, and it has been so hard since. I am struggling to provide the best for them. My eldest daughter has a learning difficulty and my younger one is a high achiever and St Pat’s is the best place for them. On my single wage, it would not have been possible to pay for their tuition at the College, but support from the Scholarship Fund enabled that.”
