from page 1 restoration includes brush removal and planting, building retaining walls, shoreline grading and more. The site will be monitored for two years after this project’s completion to ensure that native plant species are maintained.

The $871,000 project is funded by a $356,000 Conservation Partners Legacy grant, $250,000 DNR Local Trail grant and approximately $132,500 from both cities. The cities acquired a parcel on the western side of the lake for $10,000 a few years ago, clearing the way for a trail to be made around the perimeter of the lake, a priority goal in both cities’ most recent parks master plans. No timeline has been determined for that leg of the trail.

Seidls Lake Park in South

St. Paul is about three acres in size and has canoe access, overlooks and fishing piers. The Inver Grove Heights park is about 30 acres and has a playground and overlooks.
