The West Side Boosters is governed by an all-volunteer 5-member board of directors. The club derives its revenue by selling concessions at sporting events and hosting taco feeds and other fundraising events at local bars, including Shadey’s Bar on the West Side and North 40 Tavern in West St. Paul. It formerly received proceeds from charitable gambling at local bars but stopped opertating at those sites in recent years due to a drop in revenue.

“I want to start raising a lot more money to provide for these kids to be able to do a lot more college visits in state and out of state,” said Cruz. “My biggest thing is seeing these youth be successful, good people out in the community.”
