St Paul’s Policy re: ‘Charging for Examinations’ Due to the increased number of students in AS/A2/GCSE level and the larger number of subjects on offer it has been decided to change our examination charging structure. The school will continue to pay examination fees for a pupil who has followed a course within the school leading to a terminal examination. •

The school will not pay repeat examination/modular fees where the pupil has repeated the course or part of the course and decides to re-sit that examination/module. He/she will pay the full cost of that examination/module.

The Board of Governors reserve the right to recover from parents/guardians the fees for examinations for which that child was entered but did not sit, except where a valid doctor’s certificate has been submitted.

Parents/guardians will also be expected to pay in full in advance any charge which may arise as a result of a parent/guardian/student’s request to have an examination result scrutinised or re-marked.

Students who decide to change a GCSE subject option after the examination closing date must be prepared to pay the late entry fee.

It is the responsibility of all eligible students to make sure they are entered for examinations on time and where applicable to pay examination fees on time. Examination closing dates will be clearly displayed on notice boards. Students are advised to consult their teacher or the Examinations Officer. All candidates availing of the late entry facility must pay the exam fee and the incurred late entry fee.
