Project Overview
Issho – which translates to “together” in Japanese – is a contemporary dining destination located in England. Working closely with D&D London, acclaimed designers DesignLSM created a vibrant restaurant space that has an authentic and refined aesthetic, achieved through using materials that give a subtle nod to the delicate textured fabrics of East Asia.
How We Helped
DesignLSM used a bold yet simple palette for the scheme, which revolved around natural materials and elements including black charred timber. Organic and pure. The charred timber used throughout the bar area is Lead, our Yakisugi cladding from the Carbonised portfolio. Ancient Japanese techniques are used to char the wood, creating rich, silvery tones. A statement masterpiece fusing historic origin and an artistic approach.
Outcome
With the surface linking customers back to nature and the past, the black tone creates an intricate space that screams authentic Japan and provides a natural escape. DesignLSM’s creation also shows the versatility of the carefully crafted Carbonised collection.
