Cornhusker Bank will be celebrating its fi rst year as a full service branch in Omaha with a ribbon cutting by the Greater Omaha Chamber on Thursday, April 29, at 4 p.m. Prchal Petersen Group, LLC will be co-hosting the open house celebration, which will follow the ribbon cutting.

As a community outreach, part of the celebration will be a shoe collection for the bank’s

One Day Without Shoes campaign that benefi ts the Stephen Center. Those attending the celebration are encouraged to bring their wearable used or new shoes to donate that day. The One Day Without Shoes campaign runs April 26 through May 8, 2021. Partners throughout the greater Omaha area are collecting shoes through this entire period. Locations to drop off shoes in addition to Cornhusker Bank at 11102 Blondo St. are listed on online: www.cornhuskerbank.com/Day-Without-Shoes-Omaha.aspx In the fi rst year of collections in 2020, even with the pandemic in full swing, the bank and numerous business partners collected over 2,000 pairs of shoes and $350 in monetary donations for the Stephen Center. With the community’s help, the bank is striving to make the same kind of impact for the Stephen Center in Omaha as it has made for the People’s City Mission in Lincoln. In the 10-year history of the Lincoln event, over 182,000 pairs of shoes and $87,000 have been donated to the Mission. Cornhusker Bank’s Omaha associates and many partnering businesses will go shoeless on April 27 to raise awareness of the need for footwear in the community.
