WELCOME Dear customer, Welcome to the first edition of the Stripes online magazine. We hope to inspire you with new autumn trends, key pieces from our collections and prepare you for the season ahead. We have been receiving lots of autumn deliveries over the past few weeks and we are thrilled with the beautiful collections we have to show you. We love all things Scandinavian at Stripes, with the majority of our designers based in Copenhagen, so we thought in this issue we would introduce you to our new Danish designers, take you through our recent buying trip to Copenhagen and give our tips for the best places to visit if you are planning a trip there. We also added some information on new beauty products by Ren and Laqa&Co that recently arrived in store. Copenhagen story

Danish invasion.

We always enjoy visiting the Danish capital and find it the most inspiring place to spot new trends and brands that we can bring back to Stripes. The danes really lead the way with their effortless, dressed-down look and we were so inspired by the collections we saw at the Gallery show during Copenhagen Fashion Week.

We bought from brands including By Malene Birger, Designers Remix, Day Birger, Won Hundred & Gestuz

I

f you are planning a trip to Copenhagen, you must read our top 5 things to do and visit in Danish capital at the end of the magazine. It is definitely on the list of must-visit cities!

“It is the most inspiring place to spot new trends and brands that we can bring back to Stripes.”

Our STYLIST ’S Picks

T

he capital city of all thingsstylish, one of the top places to live in the World and a firm favourite with the Stripes team. Copenhagen is a city that mixes modernism with classicism in one go. That’s why we have fallen in love with ‘wonderful Copenhagen’. There is no doubt that Denmark and the of whole Scandinavia is famous for clean designs

in the realms of fashion and design but the Danes also embrace clean-living in the way they lead their lives with healthy eateries and a penchant for cycling. Walking through the city, there is so much to see. Copenhagen is a place of great style and beautiful people. You will love the unique architecture and relaxed feel that makes Copenhagen so special.

£149, GESTUZ £169, BY MALENE BIRGER

BMB COPENHAGEN FASHION SHOW

£89, BY MALENE BIRGER

The By Malene Birger moment. The By Malene Birger AW13 show took place in the Royal Danish Theatre, Copenhagen and was staged with simple monochrome drapes and with a vintage film of orchids playing as a backdrop. Our favouite pieces from the collection were beautiful coats, shimmering shirts, luxurious embellished knitwear and stand-out dresses worn with large brimmed hats. We were also treated to a show of Malene Birger’s couture dresses that were beautifully constructed & worn with fur outerwear.

A

t the after-show party, we were lucky enough to meet Malene Birger. She looked amazing in a floor length gown and chatted to guests before she took to the DJ decks to get the party started. We were treated to live music and the champagne was flowing to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the launch of the brand.
