DIRECTOR’S NOTE

Agatha Christie was a formidable mystery writer. Her collection includes 66 novels and 15 short story collections. These have been translated into 100 languages. Novels have been adapted into plays, television series and films. Murder on The Orient Express was written in 1934. We have chosen to present the play in the original time period of 1934. This play represents Poirot’s personal dilemma. Christie expressed that even as she wrote the Poirot character, she found him insufferable. We have worked extensively on back stories for each of these characters. Many are masking another identity. But I am giving too much information. We are grateful for all of the assistance from our administration for this wonderful production. Stuart has not done a serious play in many years. We were excited to tackle a true crime mystery. Our hats are off to Mr. Cupit for this incredible and innovative set. Please enjoy our talented cast and crew in a true ensemble production.
