FIRST TUESDAY

September 3rd, October 1st, November 5th, December 3rd 6:00-8:00 PM • Free to $5 • No day-use fee An evening for ISU students to come to the Craft Shop and create. Ideas and supplies will be furnished at low to no cost.

PLAY IN THE CLAY

All other Tuesdays 6-8 PM • Clay/glaze available at Craft Shop An evening for ISU students to learn techniques used in creating with clay. Demonstrations and assistance on various techniques will be provided. Clay can be purchased in small amounts so come give it a try.

PAINT A POT

Glaze a pre-thrown pot Anytime • $5 The Craft Shop will have a supply of pre-thrown bowls and mugs for students to glaze. Under glazes & glaze are included.

WOOD SHOP ASSISTANCE Bring your own ideas and supplies Tuesdays, 6-8 PM

Sharon will assist you in the operation of tools and safety procedures of our wood shop. Limited space available.

BEGINNING POTTERY

GLASS BEAD MAKING II

September 11th-October 16th, Wednesdays 6:30-8:30 PM • $60 + clay and glaze fees Instructor: Mary Miller

October 16th-November 6th, Wednesdays 6-8 PM • $48 + supplies Instructor: Lon

Students will learn the basics of throwing on the wheel. Students will learn various decoration techniques. They will also develop skills that will enable them to create stable and aesthetic pieces.

This class will teach the art of wound glass bead making without investing a lot of time. In four, two hour classes, students will use a torch to melt glass, which is then shaped into unique beads.

This class is designed for students who have taken beginning pottery and would like to expand their skills. Refining basic forms and adding details such as lids, handles, and foot rings will be emphasized.

Students will learn basic operation of tools and safety procedures in the wood shop while creating from a choice of simple wood projects.

Students will design and create ceramic tiles. They will also make a mold in order to replicate their tiles.

BEGINNING STAINED GLASS II October 21st-December 2nd, Mondays 6:30-8:30 PM • $65 + supplies Instructor: Steve Paris Students will learn the basics of stained glass through pattern layout, glass cutting, grinding, foiling and soldering. Projects will be completed using both foil and lead cane methods. The instructor will call you a week before the first class to discuss materials so you will have time to purchase them before the first class.

Class fee includes day-use fee for class times only. Day-use or memberships can be purchased for additional days. Class sizes are limited, so early enrollment is encouraged. Call or come in to the Craft Shop to register for a class. Registration is complete when the fee is paid. You may pay the fee in-person at the Craft Shop. Minimum registration must be met 24 hours prior to the first class or it may be canceled. You will be notified of any cancellations and your fee will be refunded.

Dream Catchers

Wednesday, November 13th 6-8 PM • $15 Instructor: Mary Miller Using willow for a frame, a small dream catcher will be made and ornamentation added.
