Introducing University Mental Health Day (Elly Gale, Student Minds) and Suicide Prevention – #ITSOKTOTALK (Luke Ambler, #ANDYSMANCLUB) 9.00am- 10.00am, H2 Faculty of Health This engaging session launches University Mental Health Day and will feature talks by Student Minds and Luke Ambler, a current rugby league player and founder of the nationally acclaimed male suicide prevention movement, #ANDYSMANCLUB. You will hear about national initiatives to support the mental health of students and staff and why men in particular should be encouraged to talk about their mental health. There will also be an opportunity get involved with Edge Hill’s partnership work to promote mental health through sport and other activities. Walking Football with Everton in the Community (EitC) 10.00am - 11.00am OR 11.00am - 12.00pm, Wilson Gym Would you like the opportunity to play against EitC’s very own walking football team? Then come along to one of these fun sessions and get involved! Walking football allows you to experience the thrill of football at a more leisurely pace and is open to everyone. Former professional footballer Pat Van Den Hauwe and other coaches from EitC will run the session alongside Edge Hill Sports Development and Management students. State of Mind – Mental Fitness Workshop 10.15am- 11.45am, H202 Faculty of Health and Social Care In this interactive workshop, you will hear from professional rugby league players about their experiences of mental illness and learn about strategies you can adopt to positively promote your own mental health. There will also be a chance to talk to mental health professionals who will be there to answer any questions you have. Counselling Drop-In Day 11.00am - 3.00pm, Milton House, Ruff Lane Come along to Milton House to speak to the University’s Counsellors about any issue that might be on your mind.

Feel Good Festival 2017 11.00am - 3.00pm, The Hub and surrounding areas This year’s Feel Good Festival is bigger and better than ever! There will be a mobile petting farm outside the Business School, a bouncy castle, flower planting, free sweets, free massages, free fruit plus lots more! Time for your Mind 11.00am - 2.30pm, The Hub Come join us in the hub where our stall ‘Time for your Mind’ will be set up for you to gain knowledge, confidence and the skills needed to benefit your own and others’ mental health. Handball: Moving Your Mood 12.00pm - 1.00pm, Wilson Gym Handball is a fast-paced combination of basketball and football and a great way to stay active and boost your mood. Come along to this session to try it for yourself with guidance from handball-qualified Edge Hill students. Human Hungry Hippos 1.00pm - 2.00pm, Wilson Gym You’ve all played Hungry Hungry Hippos, but how about trying it yourself? This is a chance to get active while having lots of fun along the way! Afterwards, you can speak to our mental health partners about opportunities to work and volunteer in the field. See it in action: bit.ly/humanhippos Mental Health: What Can be Learned from Professional Sport? 2.00pm - 3.45pm, E1 Faculty of Education Join State of Mind Sport and Edge Hill Sports Development and Management students for a panel discussion on the lessons which can be learned about mental health from professional sport. You will hear about Edge Hill’s research in the area and how you can get involved in mental health promotion and suicide prevention in the future.
