WELCOME TO OUR NOVEMBER SNAPSHOT! I am very proud of the incredible group of fillies, mares and foals our customers have trusted us to showcase on their behalf this year. In this publication we will focus on our top offerings, which are fillies and mares. Some represent turn-key opportunities for prospective buyers to step right into G1 company on the track, while others can take you to the premier sale or race destinations with their future offspring! As always, we are very happy to see so many of our buyers having success with mares bought in recent years. World class horses such as American Pharoah, Lady Aurelia, Arrogate, McKinzie, Yoshida and countless others have taken center stage after their dams were found by their new owners at TAYLOR MADE! As you read through our November SNAPSHOT, you will learn more about some beautiful fillies and mares that will become the producers of future stars, or may even ascend to new heights like STOPCHARGINGMARIA did for Town and Country Farm when she won the Breeders’ Cup Distaff only a year after her purchase. The only question is: What Will You Find at Taylor Made? I hope you enjoy a great weekend of racing at Churchill Downs leading up to the sales at Fasig-Tipton and Keeneland. We are here to serve you. If you have any questions about our consignment we are available anytime or if there is anything else we can assist you with, please call. Best of luck and happy hunting!

TRAINER: Michael Maker

A three-time stakes winner and graded stakes performer, Daring Duchess, is by an outstanding sire and broodmare sire, out of a multiple stakes winning mare. Tough and consistent, Daring Duchess held her form throughout a five-season career, her penultimate outing seeing her lead from wire-to-wire to take the Flaming Page Stakes at Woodbine by nearly four lengths. She had previously captured the Keertana Stakes at Churchill Downs by three lengths from graded winner Quiet Business, again leading throughout, and in similar fashion took the Via Borghese Stakes at Gulfstream Park, while defeating multiple graded winner Martini Glass. Daring Duchess also gained graded stakes placings with seconds in the La Prevoyante Handicap (G3), beaten threequarters of a lengths; the Bewitch Stakes (G3), beaten just a length; and The Very One Stakes (G3). Daring Duchess is by Roberto’s son, Arch, the sire of 65 stakes winners including Champion Older Horse Blame; Canadian

Graded Stakes-winning 3 year old filly... Ready to run for new connections!

dixie serenade OWNER: Uptowncharlybrown Stud LLC

TRAINER: Edward Coletti, Jr.

Dixie Serenade’s come-from-behind win in the Victory Ride (G3) already looks good on paper, but there is more to it than what meets the eye. Not only did she rally from 12 lengths off the pace to score by a neck, but she did so by flying past multiple grade one winner, Separationofpowers, grade two winners Mia Mischief and Spectator, Grade 3 winner Take Charge Paula and stakes winner Sower. This field encompassed some of the best fillies in her division and she ran right by them. For this effort, Dixie Serenade earned herself an 86 Beyer Speed Figure and a Ragozin number of 12 ½. In her very next start, she would earn a career high Ragozin number of 9 ¼, falling just a head shy of a second straight stakes victory while being floated very wide on the turn. A few races a

buyer may consider for the rest of 2018 include the Grade 3 Go For Wand at Aqueduct on 12/1 or the Garland of Roses on 12/8 at that same track. One other option is to give her one final chance

In 2018, Finley’sluckycharm has once again placed herself at the forefront of the filly sprint division. In the seven-furlong Madison Stakes (G1), she battled with multiple grade one winner American Gal through torrid early fractions of :21.96 and :44.31, and having vanquished that foe, then dug in determinedly to defy graded and eight-time stakes winner Miss Sunset. In addition to American Gal and Miss Sunset, those behind Finley’sluckycharm here included five-time graded stakes winner Lewis Bay. That triumph was followed by a dominating victory in the Honorable Miss Handicap (G2), where Finley’sluckycharm was untroubled to tally by 2¼ lengths over a field that included multiple graded winner Vertical Oak, plus graded stakes winners Faypien and Kirby’s Penny. This effort saw her hit a new high, as she earned a career top Beyer speed figure of 104.

Gr. 1 talent in the best form of her life!

INSTA ER M A OWNER: Medallion Racing, Nathan McCauley, Thomas Cornelison, Jerry McLanahan, Christopher Johnson

TRAINER: Richard Baltas

A graded stakes winner at Kentucky Downs in September, multiple stakes winner and grade one placed performer, Insta Erma is by Pioneerof the Nile out of a graded stakes performing and multiple stakes producing mare, from a foundation family. In her most recent start Insta Erma went to her knees at the break, and spotted the field 4 lengths. She ran an unbelievable race to finish a half length off third. She ran a 96 beyer, which matched her 2nd fastest speed figure. With a clean break she easily could have been third, and could have challenged for the win. This race sets her up well for the G1 Matriarch at Del Mar on December 2nd, which she ran third in last year. A winner every year from two to five, Insta Erma produced an outstanding performance on her most recent outing, closing powerfully to take the Kentucky Downs Ladies Turf Stakes (G3). In doing so, she ran a 98 Beyer Speed Figure, and defeated graded stakes winners Valadorna, Storm the Hill, and stakes winners Pas de Soucis, I’m Betty G and Bonnie Arch. Insta Erma had also produced another stellar effort to capture the Swingtime Stakes at Santa Anita, running the mile in 1:32.76, and accounting for graded winners Madame Stripes, Belvoir Bay, Mrs McDougal, stakes winner Do the Dance and Lady Valeur. In addition, Insta Erma took second in the Megahertz Stakes (G3) and second in the Lady Canterbury Stakes, beaten just a neck, and third in the Matriarch Stakes (G1), ahead of grade one winner Pretty Girl, four-time graded winners Cambodia and Belvoir Bay, multiple graded winners Lull, and graded winner Kitten’s Roar.

Insta Erma

Insta Erma is half-sister to three other stakes horses, including the stakes-winning and graded stakes-placed Mordi’s Miracle, and graded stakes-placed Emmajestic. Her dam, graded stakes-placed Enchanted Woods also has a two-year-old filly by Bodemeister – a three-quarters sister to Insta Erma – and a 2017 filly that is a three-quarters sister to stakes winner Mordi’s Miracle. Enchanted Woods is half-sister to stakes winner Grand Appointment, and to Grand Pauline, the dam of the Black-Eyed Susan (G2) stakes victress Keen Pauline. Insta Erma’s second dam, Grand Sophisticate, is out of the grade one-placed Sophisticated Girl, a prolific tap-root mare who is ancestress of 23 stakes winners, including European Champion Two-Year-Old Filly Hooray, Champion Danehurst, and graded winners Dance Sequence, Dazzle, Souvenir Copy, Doneraile Court, Ayahuasca and Humouresque. Collector's Pedigree with Upside!

K ATHY’S SONG OWNER: Abbondanza Racing LLC, Premier Racing Club, Jerry McClanahan

TRAINER: Richard Baltas

Kathy’s Song is not only a talented stakes winner and grade one performer, but she also owns an excellent pedigree that has considerable upside potential. A four-time winner, Kathy’s Song earned black-type when defeating a field of 14 for the Miss America Stakes, scoring by 3¼ lengths, while defeating stakes winners Lady Valeur, Central Heat, Dreamarcher and Miss Southern Miss. Kathy’s Song followed that excellent effort with an even better one, taking third in the American Oaks (G1) ahead of grade one winner New Money Honey, graded winner Beau Recall and stakes winners Desert Duchess and Coachwhip. Kathy’s Song is a daughter of Candy Ride out of Strawberry Sense. She is also the dam of Prime Attraction, winner of the Native Diver

Stakes (G2), and also four times graded stakes-placed, including the 2018 Pacific Classic (G1), and of stakes-placed Distillery. Strawberry Sense is also dam of a yearling colt by Quality Road – that realized $975,000 at the 2018 Keeneland September yearling sales. A daughter of A.P. Indy, Strawberry Sense is a sister to the Risen Star Stakes (G3) victor Scipion, and three-quarters sister to undefeated Champion Two-Year-Old Colt and Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Stakes (G1) captor Vindication. She is also half-sister to the stakes winning and graded placed In Step, herself dam of Nashua Stakes (G2) scorer Hemsworth; to graded stakes-placed Blackberry Road; to stakesplaced True Reason; and to the dam of stakes winner Shem. The pedigree upside extends to Kathy's Song herself, who is in training preparing for a 2019 campaign. Her most recent turf races resulted in a grade one placing and a stakes victory. There is a graded stakes with her name on it in 2019.

LA CORONEL G1 winner and multiple graded stakes winner of nearly $850,000 Ran a 101 Beyer winning the G1 QEII beating New Money Honey (Champion), Daddy's Lil Darling (G1), Dream Dancing (G1), plus GSWs Madam Dancealot, Uni, Beau Recall & Proctor's Ledge Graded stakes winner at 2 in the G3 Jessamine at Keeneland First five dams are all graded stakes producers

From an outcross sire line, she boasts major graded stakes

Money Honey and Lull, as well as grade one winner Dream

was destined to take high-rank among her contemporaries

was evident from her turf debut at two, when she strolled

home four lengths clear of runner-up New Money Honey, the subsequent winner of the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf (G1) and Belmont Oaks Invitational (G1). Transitioning from maiden to graded stakes company, La Coronel was equally dominant cruising to a four length victory over multiple graded stakes winner Lull and graded winner Sweeping Paddy.

The best, however, was yet to come. One of the premier events for three-year-old turf fillies in North America is the $500,000 Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup (G1), and La Coronel led from start to finish to capture this prestigious contest accounting for New Money Honey, Dream Dancing, Proctor’s Ledge, grade one winner Daddys Lil Darling, graded winners Uni, Beau Recall and Madam Dancealot,

Martini Glass is a true blast from the past. As hard knocking as they come, Martini Glass ran 24 times in a career that spanned 28 months. And she only got better with time. Ask the connections of Songbird, who Martini Glass nearly ran down in an heart pounding renewal of the G1 Delaware Handicap, where Martini Glass only went down by just a length to the great daughter of Medaglia d’Oro. Martini Glass hit the board in 18 of her 24 starts, including her final 14 starts where she finished in the top 3 in 13 of them.

24

A winner on dirt and turf, Martini Glass came into her own in the last half of her 4 year old year, which included 2nd place finishes in the G1 Delaware Handicap and the G1 Juddmonte Spinster. She would finally gain her deserved graded stakes success in the G3 Royal Delta at Gulfstream Park, beating future G1 winner, Unbridled Mo, and multiple other graded stakes winners in the process. In her very next start, she was shipped to

Oaklawn Park and took down a very talented field of fillies and mares in the G2 Azeri, winning by a widening 3 lengths. She would go on to gain yet another G1 placing in the La Troienne on Kentucky Oaks day, while doing most of her running on a part of the track that wasn’t conducive to making up ground. In the process however, she would beat another G1 winner in the form of Champion, Abel Tasman. Martini Glass was sound and durable, something that has become a bit of a rarity these days, especially when considering she was competing against some of the very best her division had to offer. Successful on the dirt and turf, fast and sloppy tracks, Martini Glass did a little bit of everything in her career, earning the great deal of respect she so richly deserved.

The mating also gives the proven pattern of inbreeding to sisters Preach (dam of Pulpit) and Yarn (dam of Tale of the Cat), as well as to Unbridled and his grade one winning brother Cahill Road, strengthening the Tartan Farm background of the pedigree. The Tartan connection could also be effectively made through

There are also strong indications that another of Europe’s great sires, Dubawi, could fit here, and the cross of the Green Desert line – available through such as Invincible Spirit, Oasis Dream and Sea The Stars – also has considerable promise. In Japan, Sunday Silence’s son, the mighty Deep Impact, is sire of two stakes winners from a little more than a handful of starters out of Caro line mares, and he also loves Storm Cat, the sire line of the dam of Sailor’s Valentine. We can also observe that other versions of the Sunday Silence/Cozzene cross have produced grade one winner Isla Bonita (by Fuji Kiseki), and grade two winners Broad Street (by Agnes Tachyon), Epice Arome (by DaiwaMajor) and Win Bright (by Stay Gold).

Now Song of Bernadette, the dam of Catholic Boy, is offered in foal to War Front, one of the world’s most sought after international sires. Catholic Boy is the second foal and second winner for Song of Bernadette. Remarkably, 2018 marked the second year that Catholic Boy annexed graded stakes on both surfaces. At two, he took the grassy With Anticipation Stakes (G3) in only his second start, then switched to the dirt to score a near five-

The oldest stakes winners out of Bernardini mares are only five-year-olds of 2018, and he is already broodmare sire of 22 black-type winners, including not only Catholic Boy, but also grade one winner Mo Town, and graded winners Mopotism, Hunter O’Riley, Banish, Arabian Hope, Dark Nile, Song of Spring, National Flag and Yulong Warrior.

G1 Gamely winner is inbred 4x3 to Almahmoud

SOPHIE P (GB) OWNER: D P Racing LLC

TRAINER: James Cassidy

Sophie P is by a grandson of the breed-shaping Danehill, a horse inbred 3x3 to Natalma, the dam of Northern Dancer. When we look at the pedigree of Nazoo – the third dam Sophia P, we see that she not only goes tail-female to Natalma’s dam Almahmoud, but is inbred to 4x3 to that very important mare, those strains coming through Natalma and through Cosmah, the dam of Halo. Sophie P’s maternal grandsire, Giant’s Causeway also has a double Almahmoud via Northern Dancer/Natalma and Cosmah/ Halo. Although she is open to a wide variety of mates, this pedigree would make Sophie P a particularly intriguing mate for Halo line stallions either through Sunday Silence/Deep Impact or More Than Ready. Or, given the success of the sire-line over Danehill line mares, Sadler’s Wells line stallions would also appeal, a notion given added force by the fact that Divisidero, a multiple grade one winner from this family, is by a grandson of Sadler’s Wells. A tough consistent runner in the United Kingdom, Sophie P left there in peak form, having scored back-to-back victories in her last two starts. In North America she gained grade one honors with a brave victory over three-time group and graded winner Madam Dancealot in Gamely Stakes (G1), with those behind also including graded winners Madame Stripes, Mopotism, Beau Recall, Midnight Crossing and Hawksmoor. Her other credits include a second in the Rothesay Stakes, and a third in

Her half sister Cinnamon Spice was a $350,000 yearling and a $700,000 broodmare prospect, first to Fox Hill Farms and then to International Equities Holding.
