BIG BOLAJI It is no doubt that you are one of the most respected long-acting gospel artists in Nigeria. We know there is hardly anyone out there in the Christendom that does not know who you are. For those who really do not know who the illustrious Big Bolaji is, can you please tell us about yourself? My Name is Bolaji Adedotun Olarewaju. My Eulogy (oriki) is Alani omo Erin tin jogun ola. In recent years, your works have been topnotch. What are you working on now and why should your fans stay braced? We thank God for He is so kind to us, let us hold on to see all He has in store for all of us through the brand. What made you go into music and in what year? Music has always been a part of me from my primary school days; this is because my late mother Rev. Mrs. Sola Olanrewaju had the arts owing through her veins (music, drama, Poems and more).

What is your take on the quote: every Christian is either a missionary or an impostor?
You seem like a fun, Pollyannaish, can you tell us the secret behind such admirable nature of yours?

Just choose a diet that works for you as an individual and eat healthily, my wife helps with that even though I give her plenty of headache on my choice of meals. As a gospel artist, do you consider yourself a missionary? As born again Christians, we are all missionaries. Some have been specially ordained to just take it on as their total assignment. So, I consider myself a missionary. How did you have your big break? I would not say there was a big break. Considering the fact that the secular artists are already facing the reality that their fans do not listen to a body of work because people's attention span is short. Do you think Gospel artists are facing similar challenges? Music is music and content is key. What are the good habits you have that people could possibly take advantage of? When you love God, it is easy to show the love to mankind. Do you think the failure to preach or evangelize to others makes a Christian an impostor? No, it does not. It just means the person needs more knowledge on the matter. The Holy Spirit gives boldness, therefore, every Christian should receive Him to witness for Christ without fear.

No doubt, there are people looking up to you, especially upcoming gospel artists. What advice do you have for them? Stay hooked to Jesus. What kind of music do you sing? Do you minister also? I do gospel music and we minister through gospel music on all the platforms made available to us be it a party, church or crusade anywhere I am allowed to step into will get a feel of the brand, which is gospel music. Oyo state but I am from the loins of Gbongan, Osun state. I attended Subuola Nursery and Primary school, Loyola College for one term and completed my secondary school Education in London, Archbishop Tenison s High School, rounded up my higher education in Nigeria graduating as an Estate Surveyor from Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin. I also have other Professional qualifications. My educational journey has been quite interesting. I am not done yet, PhD in view (LOL). Who were those you grew up to like and emulate in music? Wow, I grew up listening to amazing music from the likes of The late barrister, king Sunny Ade, Kollington Ayinla, Ebenezer Obey, Good women choir, Mama Bola Are, Evangelist Toun Soetan, Panam Percy Paul, and many on the international scene. But my mentors in Gospel music are my elder brother Muyiwa Olarewaju, Panam Percy Paul. Mummy Toun Soetan, Pastor Steve Bamimuye and many others. The list is endless. Why did you choose to live in Ibadan? It is where I have the comfort and peace to be my base, once my guide and partner, the Holy Spirit says I should move to any other part of the country, I shall run there expressly. You have a unique voice. How did you achieve that considering your rich Yoruba intonation? The voice is a gift from God and I am Yoruba by birth and love the Yoruba language hence my love for the music and person of Sister Tope Alabi and Sister Sola Allyson. What was growing up like? My childhood memories are great; a lot of work growing up on a poultry farm but the training of the early days keeps me now. Are you married?
I was born in Ibadan, Yes, I m married. It is my 11th year this year.

Tell us about your first experience on stage Wow, that's a long time ago. Well, over 26 years now I can't remember all the emotions I experienced but I remember the ovation, it wasn't a gospel performance then. It was a performance for the end of year party of my college in London, Challenges you faced at the beginning? The challenges were many, staying true to the call, putting a team together, understanding the plan and dictates of the word, financial challenges and balance but in all I faced, the word of God was there to help me out. Role model(s) in and outside the industry? I have so many. My elder brother, Muyiwa Olarewaju, Panam Percy Paul, mummy Toun Soetan, Pastor Steve Bamimuye, Bishop wale Oke, daddy Adeboye, daddy Abiara, mama Bola Are, Pastor Femi Atoyebi, Pastor Lanre Jooda and others.
Better than now by the special grace of God, if the Lord tarries. What role(s) can the Gospel Music industry play in the development of Nigeria? Same roles as the church. Instruct, reform and refresh Learning to save money: what does it mean to you and how feasible is it to save money in this economy? The ability to prioritize and decipher which comes first is the saving grace we all need. What is it that people do not know about you? I love my chilling time a lot. I don't like to hear any form of loud music once I am not on stage. How do you unwind?
Most embarrassing thing a fan did to you?
I love watching movies and relaxing at home with my wife and kids, I seldom go out once I am back from the weekend schedule.
Jumping on my back to take a picture, I was so shocked.
How did "Turn it up with Big B" start and what was the idea behind it?
Your definition of style
Many years back, I wanted to have a Sunday program for many who don't go to church on Sundays. Few years ago at the inception of the Osun state radio in Osogbo, they wanted me to do it live and that wouldn't work with my itinerary. The opportunity to visit the idea came again 7 years ago with Splash FM 105.5 and we started it and it's been good and God ever since.
Comfortable, sleek, and Godly Your assessment of the Gospel music industry in Nigeria and the world at large In Nigeria the gospel scene is getting much better, we just pray for a better control structure and for true connection with the Holy Spirit. Many gospel songs lack this, it can still be a great danceable song, yet, it would carry weight and depth.
Looking at the most popular genre of music, Gospel seems to be more of a volunteering than a money making music venture. What inspired you into singing/worship?
Where do you see the Gospel Music industry in Nigeria in 10 years?
It's always been a part of me all through growing up. Permit me to say it's what I’m wired to do.

Is there a talent trait in your genealogy? Definitely, there is, my mother was a broadcaster, had music in her bones and took some acting roles. Do you see yourself as a politician? NO. How do you cope with glamour, fame, female fans and the demands of fatherhood? I ensure that Jesus is always the CENTRE of all I do and I play with my wife and kids a lot, a whole lot that keeps my head correct. How do you place ministry viz a viz money or physical profit? If your ministry is done according to the leading, teachings and direction of the Holy Spirit, resources will follow. Finances are quite a challenge; it will take extra concentration on what you have been sent to do not lose focus. What's your drive and motivation? The joy of fulfilment and the vision of finishing strong and well. Pains and struggles? All the ones spelled out in his word, we face but in all, we are more than conquerors, there are many things I go through that I can't explain but my thoughts and resoluteness in all are always that God is a good God.

his topic is that which should not be taken with levity as Christ Himself gave the great commission that we should go into the world and make disciples. The early Christians took it upon themselves to ensure that the glad tidings of the gospel grew stronger and spread to all corners. They equally went as far as laying their lives for the sake of the gospel. Paul said in Philippians 1:21, for to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. How many of us can boldly make this statement considering the pleasures that are in this present world? I remember having a chat with a lady and we discussed extensively on witnessing for Christ. I threw this question and I was shocked at her response; “When was the
last time you aided in the spread of the gospel”? She responded: “do you expect me to pick up a megaphone and walk around the street telling people to give their lives to Christ? It is not my job!” Honestly, that day, I was stunned, only then did I realize a lot of Christians out there go around with this mentality. The 21st century Christians prefer to be normal churchgoers, we love God only when He blesses us and we are not ready to go through any form of stress or discomfort for His sake, we leave all the work for the pastors, evangelists, and missionaries, giving excuses that they were called into such offices and should be responsible for the spread of the gospel. The moment any call is made for

those who will represent and be ambassadors of the church at programs or whatever, we shy away and give funny excuses. On days we are compelled to go out on evangelism, we stylishly distance ourselves from others so our friends, acquaintances and close associates do not see us. Who are you deceiving? I wonder! Romans 1:16, for I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. Here’s the bitter truth! If you find it difficult to proclaim the gospel, you are an impostor! Some of us feel that public announcement of our allegiance to God makes us less social. For some, preaching the gospel is not the problem; the issue is the stigma that comes with it. The fear of being referred to as “mummy Jesus”, “daddy Jesus”, “SU” and so on has hindered them from doing the right thing. Guess what? In Matthew 10:33, Jesus said: but whosoever shall deny me before men, he will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven. You know, the funniest part of it is some of us spend time chatting, tweeting and doing all sorts of things on social media. You have a platform, but you have failed to utilize it effectively to win souls for your maker. Do not be responsible for the doom of sinners in your neighborhood! Many souls perish daily, yeah! Someone will ask: “is it my fault?” I will give you the answer. James 4:17, if anyone then knows the good they ought to do and does not do it, it is sin for them. You have a friend who is sold out to the activities of this world and you fail to help him/her out of such situation because you do not want to poke nose, you are denying such a person the privilege of knowing Christ through you. There is a star for each soul that is won, so,

do away with such mentality as such person’s blood is upon your head. Do the needful! Conversion is not your job, speak the word and allow the Holy Spirit to interpret to such a person. Do not try to force salvation on anyone. Would you rather be recognized in this world and be denied in heaven or be recognized in heaven and be stigmatized in this world? I know a man who started preaching on his street. After some time, he felt his street was not big enough for him; he wanted a larger audience, so he moved to the bus stop. He was so good at it that people who waited for their buses usually got carried away. One day, a man parked by him and told him he had been watching him for days. He told this man he was directed by God to give him his tithe. He stated bluntly that he was not a beggar and refused the money. After a lot of arguments and pleading, he finally collected a huge sum of money. Guess what? People were on the lookout to see if he would appear the following day or take a long break [So typical of us]. To their surprise, this man was there as early as he always set out for the bus stop. This single act of dedication and devotion made people give generously to him and before we uttered Jack Robinson, he got himself a small bus. He painted the bus, put a large speaker on it, posted banners and all sorts of decorations just to drive people’s attention to him. He took it upon himself to drive around every day telling the world about Jesus. Today, he has several means of transportation he uses to propagate the gospel. Now, the question is: are you equally passionate about winning souls for Christ? Imagine having people like this www.gospelsaints.com
man on every street. I am sure by now; we would all be saints [LOL]. Those who supported him financially are missionaries in their own little capacity. Your money can go as far as where you never imagined you will step your foot. So, do not hesitate to give generously when you have the opportunity to. A lot of us have not realized that we do not have to step out of our homes, travel so far or walk around the street before becoming missionaries. Of a truth, not everyone would be on the field. Nevertheless, you should be actively involved in evangelical activities. The world has gone global and technology has made things easier for us. You can reach a wide range of people in a spot. Instead of making videos of gallivanting with your friends, reach out to the unreached and help the lost with the words of your mouth. You could make a video sharing your conversion experience and bringing it to their notice that Jesus is still in the salvation business. You have loads of followers and all you do is entertain them with comedy videos… For how long will you continue in such folly? Nothing stops you from sending JESUS LOVES YOU to all your contacts on WhatsApp. The highest they will do is to block you, but indirectly, you have passed a message. Do not fail to seize every opportunity that comes your way. Have you not noticed the joy that emanates from fulfilling this mandate? The bible says there is joy in heaven over every lost soul that is won back into the kingdom. Would you not be happy if such joy is experienced because you have carried out your duty? Another salient point I would like to bring to our notice is our character and actions PG
| MAY
could also preach Christ. We are the salt of the earth and light of the world. How often do you exhibit a Christ-like behavior? In Antioch, the apostles were named Christians because their attitudes and lifestyle were like that of their master. We are the bible people read now. Do not bring reproach to the name of God with your irrational actions. What message do you have to share when your character has ruined it all? Before you do anything, ask yourself the question: “what will Jesus do?”. Do not be responsible for depopulating the kingdom of God.
Let us go back to the question I asked: Missionary or impostor, which are you? I am sure by now, you already know the group you belong to. Search yourself and rate your performance as a Christian so far. How many souls have you won for Christ?, have you fulfilled the mandate?, do you even have an idea of the great commission given to us by God?. Having answered these questions, make amends today and it shall be well with you. Do not forget, the Lord already told us in John 15: 18-25 that the world will hate us. So, do not be surprised when you are persecuted, they did more to Jesus. The good news is: Jesus already prayed for us in John 17: 20-26. So, do not fret. He is always there to see you through. Shine your light in the dark places of this world and spread the good news of Christ. There is a reward waiting for you! God bless you!

Ways To Win Souls
1. Set up an intercessory prayer team that is assigned just to pray for outreach and evangelism. This team needs to be a separate entity from any other intercessory prayer teams within your local church, although you may be able to utilize the help of the other intercessors. The whole focus of this special team needs to be on outreach and evangelism.
2. Start praying for a neighborhood or a region that you want to reach thirty days in advance before you ever go there to do outreach and evangelism. 3. Pray and fast a whole week for that area before you actually do the outreach and evangelism. This will break any yokes of bondage over that area and cause any stronghold principalities to fall that would try to keep souls stuck in darkness and in bondage. (See Isaiah 58:6 and 2 Corinthians 4:3-4) 4. Host special events at the community centers, open parks, schools, and libraries in the region that you are trying to reach at least once a week to get the people of that area familiar with you so that your church name will be out there and they can see and know what you are all about, and they will be comfortable with you. 5. When you host these special events, it is always a good idea to incorporate your food and clothing ministry and other basic services to lure people to your event, because people are more prone to listen to you after you have ministered

unto their basic needs. (See Isaiah 58:7-12, Matthew 14:14-21, Matthew 15:32-38, and Matthew 16:9-10) It is not about bribing them, but it is just another form of bait to get them there. Jesus fed the five thousand and the four thousand as an incentive for them being there. Even if they are there for the wrong reasons, just to get some food or some clothes only, then at least you have them in an environment to hear the word of God being preached. (See John 6:2627) What I and my teams would do is have soul winners on the team spread out among the people in the crowd all day to witness to them one on one and lead them to Christ that way by the hundreds or thousands versus just waiting on one big altar call at the end. You can and should still do an altar call for salvation at the end also, but crowd evangelism is another way to catch fish for Jesus when people may be in a rush to get in and get out quickly without sticking around for the end of the event. 6. Have the whole church join in with the outreach teams on a fast and prayer time one week before the outreach event. 7. Even though you have dedicated evangelism teams, make it a church wide event, and get everybody involved. The Lord says when you are going into a community for more one on one type of evangelism, it may not be necessary to try to reach everyone all at once. The Lord says I will give you the grace and the influence to reach the ringleaders, and the most influential
people, in those areas and they will lead everybody else to you to hear the word of God preached. You see this with Jesus and the woman at the well. See John 4:19 & 29-30. 8. While you and the evangelism teams are out winning souls for the Kingdom of God, you should also have people back at the church praying for souls to be saved the whole time that teams are out in the harvest preaching to the lost. That is where that dedicated outreach intercessory team makes a difference. You will see many more souls get saved as a result of implementing that. 9. Before the outreach teams head out to do evangelism, you should always pray and bind up the strong man in prayer first. See Matthew 12:29 and 2 Corinthians 4:36. Now pray these Scriptures over the lives of the people; 2 Timothy 2:24-26 and Isaiah 29:24. It should also encourage you to know that the Lord is also in Heaven praying and interceding for those same people that you are reaching out and preaching to, and he is praying for them to believe your words. Look at John 17:20 and 2 Thessalonians 1:10-12. 10. It is also a good idea to pray and ask the Lord where he wants you to go to win souls that day before you head out to win souls. I have found from personal experience that the Lord will always lead you to exactly who needs to be saved, and you will get one hundred percent salvation decisions for Christ that day, every time. I would pray and say “Lord you know who needs to be saved today, now lead us to
www.gospelsaints.com
those people that needs to be saved right now, and he would do it every time, because with those people, somebody already did the planting and the watering process, and you are now the increase man or woman. (See 1 Corinthians 3:6-9, Mark 4:26-29, and Mark 16:20.) 11. It is also a good idea to send your outreach team members out in teams of two’s and three’s. It works best with teams of three’s, with each team composing of at least one man and at least one woman, so that each team would be equipped to minister to both males and females, as well as, children and teenagers. Sometimes, a woman can better relate to some issues that another woman may be dealing with when you are ministering to them, and likewise for the men also. 12. It is good to let one lead person do all of the talking, so that the person they are ministering to does not get confused. However, they should also be sensitive to the Holy Spirit to pass the baton to one of the other team members if they perceive that the Holy Spirit has put something in them to say that can close the deal in salvation with a person accepting Christ as their Lord and Savior. The other team members should be praying silently for the person being ministered to, and pray against all distractions and things that would take their focus off of what is being spoken to them about the Lord at that time. If it is a team of three, then the third person can be silently

praying and interceding for the person that is doing the preaching to that lost person. They should be praying that they say all of the right words and pray for them to be focused and stick with the subject in order to close the deal with a salvation decision. 13. With a team of three, you can also use the extra team members to talk to someone else that would be a distraction to the person that are being preached to, in order to keep them preoccupied. Extra team members can assist with preventing distractions. 14. Also, it is not a good idea to send out teams of more than three if you are doing door to door and neighborhood one on one evangelism, because you do not want it to look like you are ganging up on an individual. You want it to feel more personal than like a crowd effect. Some people can get nervous when you have too many people around them. 15. Last but not least, always remember to be kind and courteous to others and walk in love. (See John 13:34-35, Jeremiah 31:3, and John 15:8-17.)
1. Evangelism is about increasing God's renown. Give praise to the Lord, proclaim His name; make known among the nations what He has done (Psalm 105:1, New International Version). Throughout the Old Testament, God sets Himself above all other gods. He creates a nation with the intent that its people will make His name known among the nations and share the great works He has done. These great works culminate in the reconciliation of the Cross and in His defeat of death in the Resurrection. I can imagine no greater motivation to make His name known. 2. Evangelism is wise work. The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life and the one who is wise saves lives (Proverbs 11:30, NIV). When this Proverb was written, the idea of "saving lives" had more to do with delivering them from evil paths which lead to death. In light of the gospel story, it takes on a whole new significance. When considered within the context of Christ's work, the fruit
www.gospelsaints.com
of the righteous is quite literally a tree of life and the work of saving lives! 3. Evangelism is about our willingness to go. Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?" And I said, "Here am I. Send me!" (Isaiah 6:8, NIV) God never coerces us to serve Him, but He continually offers us a choice. The sixth chapter of Isaiah tells of the prophet having a vision of the Lord in His throne room. This sobering vision helped propel him to volunteer to share the Lord's message. We, too, are motivated in direct proportion to our experience with God. If we struggle to find the inspiration to share the good news, perhaps it’s time to pray for a deeper revelation of God's glory and holiness. 4. Evangelism is simply telling what God has done. In that day you will say: "Give praise to the Lord, proclaim His name; make known among the nations what He has done, and proclaim that His name is exalted" (Isaiah 12:4, NIV). Much of the Book of Isaiah operates as a twofold prophecy. It has immediate import as a prophecy about Judah, but also points at the coming Messiah who will deliver Israel—and subsequently all humanity. Here Isaiah speaks of an evangelism that works in both timelines. Judah will be able to proclaim what the Lord has done to deliver the nation from its sin, and God's future people will be able to exalt God’s name for what he's done for mankind. 5. Evangelism points to our only source of salvation. "Turn to Me and be saved, all you ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is no other" (Isaiah 45:22, NIV). In the 45th chapter of Isaiah, God turns His focus on Israel's surrounding nations who fashion idols to worship. Instead of worshipping idols they can carry with their hands, God encourages these nations to turn to Him, a God who can carry them in His hands. This is an appropriate reminder to all of us who follow the Lord. There is still only one God and one salvation. There is no other. As awkward as it feels to speak this truth in a pluralistic and tolerant world, it’s no less true. 6. Evangelism is a divine responsibility. “Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the people of Israel; so hear the word I speak and give

them warning from me. When I say to a wicked person, ‘You will surely die,’ and you do not warn them or speak out to dissuade them from their evil ways in order to save their life, that wicked person will die for their sin, and I will hold you accountable for their blood. But if you do warn the wicked person and they do not turn from their wickedness or from their evil ways, they will die for their sin; but you will have saved yourself" (Ezekiel 3:17–19, NIV). In this passage, God gives the prophet Ezekiel the task of being a "watchman" for Judah. The main point of this commission is that Ezekiel would deliver God's message and warnings faithfully. A sobering element of this calling is the knowledge that when Ezekiel neglects to share the Lord's warning for Judah's wickedness, he will share in the responsibility. This passage should shake us, Christ's followers, out of our slumber. We, too, are watchmen of sorts. We have a message of salvation to deliver, and some responsibility lies on the messenger who neglects to give the message. 7. The evangelist makes God's greatness known. "And so I will show my greatness and my holiness, and I will make myself known in the sight of many nations. Then they will know that I am the Lord" (Ezekiel 38:23, NIV). God reiterates to Ezekiel the Old Testament theme that He desires for Israel and the prophets to be the vessel that communicates God's awesomeness. It's always been God’s desire that He would have a people through whom the rest of the world would be blessed as they made His virtues known. 8. We share God's goodness with all of creation. "My name will be great among the nations, from where the sun rises to where it sets. In every place incense and pure offerings will be brought to me, because my name will be great among the nations," says the Lord Almighty (Malachi 1:11, NIV). The Old Testament closes with Malachi reiterating God’s desire for fame among the nations. The picture of God's goodness being known everywhere the sun touches is poignant and important. We, too, bear a responsibility to share God's goodness to every tribe, tongue and nation—everywhere the sun touches. 9. Our goodness is a form of evangelism. "Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven" (Matthew 5:15–16, NIV).

Why don't people light a lamp and put it under a bowl? Because it’s wasted effort. If you light a lamp, you’re bringing light to your home. Here Jesus reminds us that He doesn't want to waste His efforts either. Our lamps have been lit with the intention that we would give light to others as well. It’s important to note that, in this instance, our good deeds are the light He is talking about. When we do good works, we give credence to the gospel. It's not just the evil that we do that works against the gospel, but also our unwillingness to do good. 10. Prayer is an important part of evangelism.
Jesus' marching orders. There isn't a person who has made the decision to follow Jesus who is exempt from this commission. This is about more than just getting someone to pray the "sinner's prayer." It's about equipping them to grow in grace and truth—and be people who take up this mission themselves. 13. Evangelism is important. "Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned" (Mark 16:16, NIV). Until we begin to really internalize what's at stake in evangelism, we will struggle to rightly prioritize it. 14. Evangelism is for Christ's pleasure.
Then He said to His disciples, "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field" (Matthew 9:37–38, NIV).
"I tell you, whoever publicly acknowledges me before others, the Son of Man will also acknowledge before the angels of God" (Luke 12:8, NIV).
In a world full of hungry people, is there a more heartbreaking picture than ripe fruit rotting on the vine because there just aren’t enough harvesters to bring it in? The same is true in a world full of pain and heartbreak. The gospel desperately needs harvesters to share the message with those whose hearts are ripe to receive the good news.
Imagine Christ publicly acknowledging you among the heavenly host for your willingness to identify yourself with Him. I don't think Jesus will neglect to share His pleasure for every time we've communicated the good news of the gospel to another. 15. Evangelism isn't about having all the right arguments.
The Lord has given us the responsibility to make evangelism a priority in the church. This is more than rushing around telling people about Jesus. It's also about praying that the Spirit will move in others to feel the importance of joining the work of evangelism. 11. Evangelism promises immediate results.
“When you are brought before synagogues, rulers and authorities, do not worry about how you will defend yourselves or what you will say, for the Holy Spirit will teach you at that time what you should say” (Luke 12:1112, NIV).
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28, NIV). The gospel isn't something that only pays dividends in the sweet by-and-by. If we simply share the benefits of the gospel as something that saves people after they die, we're doing it a disservice. The gospel has immediate benefits to those who are weary and broken, and we need to make sure that we are communicating the supernatural strength available to those who submit to the Lord. 12. Evangelism has a gold standard. "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age" (Matthew 28:19–20, NIV). When we read this passage, we need to read it as

Jesus is telling the disciples that a time is coming when the cost of sharing the gospel will be high. He encourages them not to be concerned about what they will say when they're dragged before those in authority; the Holy Spirit will move on their behalf. Sometimes we're so worried about having the right answer to every question that we neglect to open our mouths. It's helpful to remember that the Holy Spirit is there helping us to communicate and also working in the hearts of those with whom we're sharing. 16. Evangelism is good news. For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him (John 3:16-17). We're often so focused on what happens to those who deny Christ, that we forget that the gospel is good news. We’re not sharing a message of condemnation,

but one of a God who loves humanity so much that He'd be willing to make the ultimate sacrifice so that they could be reconciled to Him. 17. Our behavior is a form of evangelism. "By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another" (John 13:35, NIV). There are a lot of philosophies and religions vying for attention. In the end, there has to be something that sets one apart and confirms its truth and value. We’d like to think that the gospel is confirmed by our lofty arguments. The truth is that it's the gospel's fruit that proves the gospel's message—and there is no greater fruit than the love God's people have for each other. It's so important that we realize that the opposite is also true. Our inability to love and affirm one another undermines the gospel's message of reconciliation. 18. Jesus is the doorway to God. Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6, NIV). Why is evangelism so important? Because there is no other way to be reconciled to God but through Jesus Christ. Period. 19. Disciples bear fruit. “This is to my Father's glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples” (John 15:8, NIV). In keeping with John 13:35 (#17), it's imperative that we accept that our behavior and our fruit is a form of proof that reinforces our evangelism. The word "holiness" literally means "set apart." We are set apart for God's work, and this will set us apart in our culture. People will judge our words by our works. We need to have fruit that communicates the truth of the gospel we preach. 20. Our evangelism is empowered. "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth" (Acts 1:8, NIV). Jesus speaks in future tense of the empowerment that will come through the Holy Spirit. This power will give potency to the disciple's message as they take the gospel to the ends of the earth.

This power that was to be given via the Holy Spirit came soon afterward, and is available to all of us who seek to be obedient to our commission. We have the power we need to fulfill our high calling! 21. The church is the light of the world. For this is what the Lord has commanded us: "I have made you a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth" (Acts 13:47, NIV). To the first-century Jew, the idea that God's salvation would extend beyond Israel was completely foreign—despite the fact that God had always told Israel that through them all the nations would be blessed. All of us who follow Christ are part of His goal of redeeming the whole world to Himself. We are the light of the world. There is no plan B. 22. We must finish our task of evangelism. However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God's grace (Acts 20:24, NIV). If you're looking for inspiration, tape up this verse all around your home. Paul's single-minded focus to fulfill his responsibility of sharing the gospel as widely as possible should energize us all. 23. We share God's power through evangelism. For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile (Romans 1:16, NIV). Our willingness to share the gospel puts us at the mercy of those who may scoff at our devotion. It only takes a couple times of being laughed at, ridiculed, or treated roughly for sharing the gospel before you're tempted to downplay your faith. Don’t be afraid or ashamed. The gospel is the power of God! 24. Evangelism helps God share His gift of life. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 6:23, NIV). Apart from the gospel, we would all receive our wages as workers of inequity. Christ's gospel has the power to swap out those wages for a free gift of eternal life! 25. Evangelism is a necessary part of the salvation process.

For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. As Scripture says, "Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame." For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." How, then, can they call on the One they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the One of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!" But not all the Israelites accepted the good news. For Isaiah says, "Lord, who has believed our message?" Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ (Romans 10:10–17, NIV). God has always wanted a people who labor beside Him. It is entirely possible that God could magically place the message of the gospel in the hearts of every person, but He doesn't. Why? Because He wants His

bride, the church, to play a part. 26. Evangelism isn't about fancy arguments. "And so it was with me, brothers and sisters. When I came to you, I did not come with eloquence or human wisdom as I proclaimed to you the testimony about God. For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified" (1 Corinthians 2:1–2, NIV). The New Testament is full of Paul's intelligent defense of Christianity, so it's heartening to hear that his method for evangelism was not based on crafting the most eloquent and air-tight arguments. On the contrary, he came with a simple message of Christ and His sacrifice. The best evangelists aren't the greatest orators; they're the ones who are single-minded in their desire to share what God has done. 27. Evangelism isn’t always about securing a commitment. I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow. So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow. The one who plants and the one who waters have one purpose, and they will each be

rewarded according to their own labor. For we are coworkers in God’s service; you are God's field, God’s building (1 Corinthians 3:6–9, NIV).
us, the church. We are the diplomats that God has sent to represent him in this foreign territory. 31. Follow your prompting, let others follow theirs.
We share God's message, but God causes it to take root and grow into faith. And even if we don't always get to see the fruit, we can take solace that we are playing an important role in the harvest. 28. Empathy has an important role in evangelism.
On the contrary, they recognized that I had been entrusted with the task of preaching the gospel to the uncircumcised, just as Peter had been to the circumcised. For God, who was at work in Peter as an apostle to the circumcised, was also at work in me as an apostle to the Gentiles. James, Cephas and John, those esteemed as pillars, gave me and Barnabas the right hand of fellowship when they recognized the grace given to me. They agreed that we should go to the Gentiles, and they to the circumcised (Galatians 2:7–9, NIV).
Though I am free and belong to no one, I have made myself a slave to everyone, to win as many as possible. To the Jews I became like a Jew, to win the Jews. To those under the law I became like one under the law (though I myself am not under the law), so as to win those under the law. To those not having the law I became like one not having the law (though I am not free from God's law but am under Christ's law), so as to win those not having the law. To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some. I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings (1 Corinthians 9:19–23, NIV). God's Word manifests itself differently in each of us. So our goal isn't to get others to conform to our cultural standards as proof of their faith. Rather, we are sensitive to their traditions and experiences so that we don’t insult or confuse them before we’ve had a chance to introduce them to Jesus. 29. We should be open to the Spirit in evangelism. For I do not want to see you now and make only a passing visit; I hope to spend some time with you, if the Lord permits. But I will stay on at Ephesus until Pentecost, because a great door for effective work has opened to me, and there are many who oppose me (1 Corinthians 16:7–9, NIV). It was Paul's desire to invest some quality time with the church at Corinth—and with the issues going on there, it's obvious they needed it. Yet, Paul was aware that the Spirit is making opportunities to share the gospel in Ephesus, and following the Lord's movement is Paul's priority. It's important to remember that we will be pulled in multiple directions, but we need to follow the Lord's prompting—and not see opposition as a reason to quit. 30. God makes His appeal through evangelists. We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making His appeal through us. We implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to God (2 Corinthians 5:20, NIV). It’s God's desire that the world would submit to be reconciled to him, and he is making that appeal through

It's easy to feel God is prompting you toward a specific work and think His prompting is universal. This was a problem that was brewing in the early church. Peter felt called to witness to the Jews and struggled with Paul's contrary calling to preach to the Gentiles. In the end, don't be dissuaded from reaching the people you feel called and empowered to reach. 32. Evangelism is always about God's work. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast (Ephesians 2:8–9, NIV). We do well to remember that salvation is not something we earned by the work we've done. In the same way, the successes we see in evangelism are a response to God's grace at work in someone's life, and not because of our works, so we still can’t boast! 33. Salvation isn't the goal of evangelism; discipleship is. He is the one we proclaim, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone fully mature in Christ. To this end I strenuously contend with all the energy Christ so powerfully works in me (Colossians 1:28–29, NIV). Paul was all about sharing the gospel, but he never saw that as his only responsibility. He worked tirelessly to ensure that systems were set up so that people could grow into maturity. This is in keeping with Christ's commission that we not only share the good news, but that we teach them to do everything that Christ commanded. 34. Use the evangelist's rule book. Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains. Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should. Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every
www.gospelsaints.com
opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone (Colossians 4:2–6, NIV). In these four verses, Paul hits on the six elements of responsible evangelism: Pray regularly for opportunities to share the gospel. If you’re serious about sharing the good news, you will be asking God to give you more and more opportunities. Be watching and thankful. Since you're praying for opportunities, you're going to be on the lookout for them, thankful when they occur. Pray for opportunities for others to share the gospel clearly. You'll also pray for others to have opportunities to share the gospel, and that they would do so with power and authority. Be wise about how you treat outsiders. You'll learn to think of every conversation as an important part of your evangelism. It's not that you’re always sharing the gospel; it's that you don't want to do anything that undermines you before you do. Make the most of every opportunity. Making the most of your opportunities requires a lot of vigilance and grit. You need to be on guard to recognize your opportunities, and you need to have the resolve to take advantage of those opportunities when they surface. Ensure that your conversations are full of grace. It's so important that we recognize that our conversations reflect the gospel—even when we're not talking about the gospel. 35. Your life gives your evangelism traction. For we know, brothers and sisters loved by God, that he has chosen

you, because our gospel came to you not simply with words but also with power, with the Holy Spirit and deep conviction. You know how we lived among you for your sake (1 Thessalonians 1:4–5, NIV). Fight the temptation to bury yourself in books to empower evangelism. Having a good argument isn’t the only facet of sharing the gospel. We need to come with the power we get from communion with Christ, fervent conviction recognizing that the Lord is already at work in this person’s life, and an understanding that the life we live confirms the truth of the gospel. 36. Evangelists will face opposition. So do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord or of me his prisoner. Rather, join with me in suffering for the gospel, by the power of God. He has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time (2 Timothy 1:8-9, NIV). Paul reminds Timothy that the opposition to the gospel and his imprisonment is no reason to be ashamed. Resistance is to be expected and even if the culture views imprisonment with shame, Paul doesn't want Timothy to shy away from the potential price of sharing the good news. 37. Evangelists invest in their own discipleship. Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth (2 Timothy 2:15, NIV). The believer's process of maturity is ongoing. We always need to be submitting to others in the faith and learning as much as we can, so when the opportunity presents
itself, we are handling God’s Word with confidence and power. 38. Do the work of an evangelist. But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry (2 Timothy 4:5, NIV). Paul finishes his second letter to Timothy with this commission. With all the work that Timothy is called to as a young pastor, Paul wants to ensure that he doesn't neglect the work of evangelism. 39. Give reason for the hope you have. But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect (1 Peter 3:15, NIV). This verse from Peter reveals how simple evangelism can be. It isn't about arguing someone into submission. It's about gently and respectfully sharing why you have your hope is in Christ. It doesn't need to be contentious or difficult. It should be natural and sincere. 40. Evangelism fulfills God's desire to reconcile with everyone. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9, NIV). Even Peter was impatient for the Lord's return, and that was a couple thousand years ago. But the Lord is still withholding judgment because he wants everyone to have an opportunity to enter into relationship with Him. Evangelism is not only the way that we take the gospel to every living creature, it is the way we help fulfil God's desire.

Sir, where do you get that Living water? Sir, where do you get that “Living Water” The Samaritan women at the well has deep significance. She represented the lost soul of the city or nation of Samaria the heathens. She was Abraham’s Seed but the Jews wanting nothing to do with them because they considered them unclean because they had mixed blood in them, from their earlier captivity in Asyria Jesus revealed to her that she had had five husbands and the one she was with was not her husband. She had had the 5 fold ministry preacher, pastors teachers, prophets and evangelist and the SIXTH was not her husband, but Satan sitting in the holy place of her soul (The carnal mind). She was thirsty as many Christians today are and came to the same well that her fathers drank from but it wasn’t living water. It was the old covenant that has no life in it anymore from the law. He said to her, “everyone who drinks from this well will be thirsty again.” So there is Jesus the true well filled with Living water. The new covenant right there in front of her. She perceived that He was a prophet revealing things to her that only she would know. She knew about the Messiah that was to come. He said,”I am He.” Jesus always reveals himself to the soul first (women represent the soul always). Then she ran into the city tell the others the good news. They came out of the city to meet Him. We always have to come out of our comfort zone to meet Jesus when He comes to us in our soul. Tinhearts Source: https://hellopoetry.com/words/evangelist/
