Growing the Next Generation National organization fosters hands-on agriscience learning

ATELYN HILL, A SENIOR at Delaware’s Delmar High School, didn’t grow up on a farm, so it came as a bit of a surprise when she discovered her passion for animal husbandry and agriculture — thanks entirely to her participation in her school’s National FFA Organization program. Delmar High School’s FFA goat program — in which students raise, care for and show goats competitively — has taught Hill responsibility and increased her self-confidence and leadership skills, she said.
