Home Profile LOCATION: UNIWORLD CITY, GURGAON | AREA: 2100 SQFT | DESIGN TEAM: NAVYA AGGARWAL, ASAWARI BORA | DESIGN FIRM: NAVYA AND A QUARTER
W
ith an intention to create spaces that are playful and reflect the many personalities of the three generations, Delhi-based interior designing firm, Navya and a Quarter, have recently renovated the 2,100 sqft home with a more DIY approach indicating an ongoing design process. “We fell in love with certain colours and started to build everything around those. Our aim was to ensure that each room is comfortable and inviting,” shares Navya Aggarwal. As you enter the home, the living room is located in the center. This space is designed to create a cheery feel with pops of colour throughout, mixed with tons of natural light that comes in from two opposite ends of the room. The designers have played with colours and beautiful handcrafted objects to create a happy mood in this
space. The painted mud pots sitting beautifully on both ends of threeseater sofa are actually a great DIY idea. These unique end tables are adorned with collectibles from Opaque Studio, Auroville Pottery, Fabindia and local hideaways. Across the sofa, you can’t miss a neat bricked up wall and a refurbished ancestral cabinet finished in Matt stone blue shade, adding colour to an otherwise monochrome space. There is a mix of vintage forms painted in blues, greys and white in the whole house that give character. Each bedroom features a unique story and are tied together with the pale blue doors. The extensive use of geometry, whether colour blocks, wall molding or an oversized circle, it all adds to the English feel that the house showcases. Over all the concept was to create an easy and uplifting environment, a house that’s a home, an empty canvas for the family to fill up and the designers at Navya and a Quarter have done it all! TIHG
