Hey Key Clubbers! Hope everyone's 2020 is going amazing so far and I wish everyone the best of luck on your finals. January is such a busy month with more events and more meetings but most importantly, it's the start of elections season. The positions you can run for are President, Vice President (must run as a pair), Secretary, Treasurer, Webmaster, and Editor and if you are interested in any of these positions, be sure to fill out the election form and start working on your assignments. An interview will be conducted by our Board of Elections later this month and the actual election will be held in early February. Even if you are slightly interested, I strongly encourage you too apply! We are getting new club tshirts and they look, in my opinion, very very cute. Be sure to check out our latest email for the t-shirt order form so you can volunteer in style! Also, on the note of Key Club apparel, thank you to everyone who came to our yearbook photo. Whether you wore Key Club apparel, something blue, or not, we appreciate all of y'all for coming. LTC is coming up so soon too and I hope you guys are as excited as I am! If a weekend of fun workshops, great food, a wonder Keynote speaker, getting awards, and meeting lots of Key Clubbers from all over the state sounds
PRESIDENT JASON XIONG

Somd February events are up already and more are on the way! We have reached our fundraising goal multiple times and we are not too far from hitting our service hours goal too! If you ever have time to spare on the weekends, consider spending some hours of it volunteering. And that's it for this issue! Good luck with finals everyone and have a great rest of your January! Yours in caring service, Jason Xiong President of Stuyvesant Key Club IKEYA Board 2019-2020

Hi everyone! This weekend has been full of snow so make sure to bundle up and stay warm if you didn’t stay inside! The semester has basically ended, so I hope that you guys are studying for finals and enjoying the few days off school that we have. The election forms have been released a while ago, and the deadline for them are Sunday the 26th. Please sign up to run if you are interested in committing to a deeper level of Key Club and wish to do more beyond the duties of a member. Remember that if you do wish to run, you must prepare a speech and complete the assignment for your respective positions. In addition, club t-shirts have come out so definitely make sure to order one! They are so cute designed by Sammi Chen. Thank you to everyone who showed up for our yearbook picture and to everyone who attended our past events. We have new events coming up quickly, so hope you guys decide to attend them too. Have a great week guys!

TREASURER VINCENT HUANG
HEY KEY CLUBBERS! I can't believe we're in the start of a new decade already! 2020 is making me reflect on how we're only a few short months away from the end of the service year and seriously, it's been such a ride. The fundraising team has been working as hard as ever this winter season. We had our Poke Green Fundraiser on December 20th that raised $82.43 for The Outside NYC, a non-profit organization that promotes leadership and development in underserved

communities in the United States and India. In line with this, the new charity we will be supporting on Charity Miles is the charity Girl Up, empowering girls worldwide! Please remember to change the charity you're supporting! On January 27th, we will also be holding a bowling fundraiser with Brooklyn Tech Key Club planned by our new fundraising committee members. Don't miss out!! On an ending note, I hope you all are able to demolish finals and pull thru for second semester! As always, feel free to reach out to me if you need anything at all!

Celebr kwa
AT B
Celebrate Kwanzaa is an annual event at the Brooklyn Children's Museum, where they have different activities every year to educate children about the holiday. This year, volunteers helped with different arts-and-crafts activities including helping visitors decorate their own paper crowns and creating different ink prints for the Museum's mural. We also sold tickets to families that wanted to attend ColorLab sessions, and helped with cleanup of the materials after the event ended. Some volunteers also went around the museum cleaning up different exhibits and other activities not part of the Kwanzaa celebration. Overall, it was a chill event where we were able to assign jobs amongst ourselves. Although we didn't do too much as the museum staff did not need too much help, it was a relaxing experience and we were allocated a long lunch break too. ZIXUAN LIU

When I was a freshman, I didn't know what to do with my high-school career. One day, at the Club Fair, my attention was immediately caught by the crowd of people signing up to join Key Club. After learning that Key Club was a volunteer club, I decided to join because I thought that it would be a great opportunity to gain service hours and make new friends (considering how big Key Club was). I remember that the first event that I ever went to was "Hot Cider Hustle". When I first got there, it was pretty awkward because I wasn't used to interacting with new people. Despite my fears and inexperience, the project captain was friendly enough to tell me about her fond memories in Key Club. I had never felt more related to any stranger before when she described a recollection of her first time at a Key Club event and I was astounded by her experience after going to more and more events. Honestly, my first Key Club event was truly an eyeopening experience that soon gave my life a new home called Key Club. Â Â After being in Key Club for about a year and a half, I learned so many life skills, which would have been impossible if I had stayed at home all day. Going to more and more events, I became more comfortable with working with new people, something that I never dreamed of achieving before I joined Key Club. It was easy to make new friends at each event because of how interactive they were. Without Key Club, I would have never met so many great people, made so many friends, and gotten close to them. Overall, I'm glad that I was able to have this wonderful experience and I look forward to having more fun in Key Club in the next upcoming years!
