EDITOR'S NOTE
Hey Key Clubbers!
I hope you alll are enjoying yourselves at home. The last two months have been rough with the COVID-19 roaming around but it is a relief that we do not have to put ourselves at risk by going to school. All events have been canceled to prioritize the safety of our volunteers. LTC has also been canceled much to our dismay but there is always next year! Feel free to reach out to me or any of the Cab members with any concerns - we will try to help out the best we can. Looking forward to seeing everyone again. Stay safe and swell Key Clubbers!!! Yours in service, Rachel Joh Editor of Stuyvesant Key Club IKEYA Board 2019-2020

Hey Key Clubbers! Congrats to all the participants of SING! Each of you put up a great show and I'm very proud of all of our multitalented Key Clubbers. With the end of SING! season also means that we are approaching the end of the service year as well. It still shocks me to think that this is the LAST MONTH of the service year but we are not quite at the end yet. There is still a lot in store for y'all this month, from more service projects and perhaps committee directors' applications :O (be on the lookout for those!) I do want to take a moment here and really encourage everyone to apply when the application is released. A lot of our current committee directors are either going to be a cabinet officer next year or graduating, so there will be a lot of positions opening up for the new service year. Being a committee director does come with a lot of responsibilities but it's an awesome way to be more involved in Key Club and truly rewarding experience so I hope many of you will consider applying. It is quite apparent that our fundraising efforts really were taken to new heights this year with over twenty-thousand dollars raised and
PRESIDENT JASON XIONG
and three fundraising goals broken. In case you didn't notice in our most recent email, we are also very close to hitting our service hours goal of nine thousand hours too! We are currently at 8.7k hours so I would really appreciate it if you can this month to attend at least one service project. Together, let's push through the remainder of our last month and reach our service hours goal too! Let's make the most out of this last month and end the service year on a great note! Yours in caring service, Jason Xiong President of Stuyvesant Key Club IKEYA Board 2019-2020

VICE PRESIDENT DAVID SHI
Hey everyone! We're in the home stretch now the last month of our service year! As it comes to a close, I want us to reflect on how we've matured and developed as people. I have come to appreciate my friends more and also the impact that volunteering can actually make. I've realized that the smiles and kind words I get from many people are worth the time that I spend volunteering. What about you? Has Key Club helped you to grow? Have you helped Key Club grow?
8
As the year almost ends, I can't believe how far the club has come. We are so close to hitting our 9k service hour goal and have surpassed our fundraising goal so many times I lost count. We have done something that no other year has done before. I want to give my cabinet a pat on the back for that. And to thank you all - Key Clubbers within and outside Stuyvesant. Without each and every one of you and your support, none of this could be possible. So seriously, thank you! With many successful interclub events this year, our relationships are at an all-time high. I can't wait to keep track of our growth and continue recording our progress for the next year as well. I hope to see most of you guys next service year as well, continuing to passionately volunteer. And for those who felt that this year could've been better there's always another year to change things. Yours in service, David Shi Vice President of Stuyvesant Key Club IKEYA Board 2019-2020
Hi everyone! With the start of March, it is the last month of the service year. For all of you guys who participated in Sing! Give yourself a pat on the back. Everyone did a great job! I know personally that the month of Sing was really hard on all of us, but now that it’s over, it’s the perfect time to ... attend some events! As most of you know, our service goal is 9k hours, and we are extremely close. We are at about 8.8k hours right now, and there’s still 20 days left. If you guys have time, please consider attending some events. Our New Projects directors work really hard at finding fun events, so please attend! When the new service year starts, there is going to be many spots opened for the position of directors. I heavily emphasize this: you can all apply! Please apply if you want to go on a deeper level in Key Club or if you want contribute more to the club. It’ll be a lot of fun, and a worthwhile experience. Thanks for reading! Hope you guys have a great weekend and finish all your homework.

TREASURER VINCENT HUANG
HEY KEY CLUBBERS! This will be my last fundraising update as your club treasurer so I hope you look forward to it! January and February were both extremely eventful months for fundraising! We started off 2020 with our Bowling Fundraiser on January 25th alongside Brooklyn Tech Key Club at Bowlero Queens. I hope everyone had fun bowling and playing at the arcade with their friends! We made $125 from the event to go towards the Kiwanis Pediatric Trauma Center. Next up, we had our Valentine’s Day Bake Sale on February 10th and 11th in collaboration with the Robotics team,
10
where we raised $1,967 for the Puerto Rico earthquake relief. After that, we had our Board Game Fundraiser on February 19th at Sip N’ Play in Brooklyn, where we raised $295 to go towards lowering costs for LTC. We raised $224.88 from our Chipotle Fundraiser on February 26th. Props to the Fundraising Committee for being such a great sport and delivering so many orders to students participating in SING! To end off, we walked 4,525 miles as a group on Charity Miles and raised $1,131.25 for Girl Up. Overall, we made $3,743.13 from both January and February! Thank you so much for all your support. I have even better news! With the end of February, we have hit our THIRD FUNDRAISING GOAL of 20K and in total, we have fundraised whopping $21,573.64 This literally would not be possible without the help of everyone who took part so I just want to say thank you so much! We’ll be taking a much needed step back from fundraising for March. I can't wait to see what the rest of the service year has to offer, from events to our Leadership Training Conference coming up soon! STAY STRONG KEY CLUBBERS! Yours in service, Vincent Huang Treasurer of Stuyvesant Key Club IKEYA Board 2019-2020

CLEANUP
The event started later than I expected, but I enjoy all park events and this one was not an exception. Despite how cold the day was, all of us worked to rake leaves or pick trash. Time passed faster than I expected and we were also given hot drinks at the end. My highlight of the event is the endless amount of raking. I really enjoy raking and Leif Ericson Park is a big enough park that it felt like no matter how much I raked there were still untouched areas full of leaves. - Anna Chen

GLOBAL When I got to the event, I was immediately overcome with positive memories from the year before. I sat down and began to help at the check-in desk, where people came to pick up their passes to be able to access the event. Rachel and Evelyn, the two other volunteers, went upstairs to help out with other tasks, and eventually came back down once they were done

GAME JAM The event was a lot of fun because we both got to help out and had time to converse with each other and at the end, before cleanup, we got to watch the winners of the competition get announced and see the top 3 games. It was an overall really great experience, and I hope to volunteer there again next year :) - Nour Kastoun

I got into Key Club with my group of middle school friends as freshman: it’d just be the three of us (Freya, Jason, and I) from waking up at 3am to go to events, to getting home at 1am from late shifts. I thought it was just a job at first, and I had a strong work ethic from years working at my parents restaurant, but Key Club was different than just volunteer work. There was a spark of joy you get to see from the people you help and an immense feeling of satisfaction that you did something good for the world. And the many fundraisers that StuyKC has hosted does even more to give others that are less fortunate the help that they need. This club has also given me something irreplaceable: bonds with other Key Clubbers that I would’ve never met otherwise and who I always look forward to seeing at events. Those feel-good moments has kept myself and others going and although I’ve seen key club officers come and go, the inherent goodness of key clubbers will always be there, and i’m there for it. Gotta love this family! 34
