OLetter L D from PR SIDENT theEPresident JENNA FOO Hi guys! I can’t believe that the service year is already over and this is my last message in the Locksmith to you all :( I had such an amazing year and I can’t thank everyone enough for supporting me as president and believing in me despite all of my flaws. Although I’m not president anymore, I will never stop being a member of StuyKC and I’ll always be around if anyone wants to hit me up! (You might see me at some events still hehe) This year’s new board has already started doing some great things and I can’t wait to see what will happen in the future. Even though our new complete board was announced yesterday, both our cabinet and directors are already stepping up our game from last year which literally blows my mind. Anyways, StuyKC, thanks for a great run and I’ll see you guys around!
N EE W P R S I the D NT Letter from President Letter from theE President SN I DX EIN JP ARSEO OT NG Hey Key Clubbers! It is me again. I am very excited to be serving as your club president for the 2019 to 2020 service year! I would like to start this by saying thank you to Jenna, our president for the 2018 to 2019 service year, a passionate Key Clubber, an amazing friend, and someone I will always look up to. She has done so much for our club in this past service year and brought us all to a completely different level. I will try to follow in Jenna's footstep and be as amazing as she was but no guarantee. For the new service year, so much is already happening! Our director interviews are being held at the time I'm writing this so by the time this issue is published, our new directors should be announced already In addition, we are kicking off the new service year with new Key Club apparel to look stylish while serving our community. After hitting our service hours goal for the past service year of 8,000 hours, we are going to set the bar this year at 9,000 HOURS
Now, I know that sounds like a huge number but I know that together, with the help of our amazing New Projects Committee, we will be able to work our way toward that goal. For our fundraising goal this year, it will be $10,000!!! Although we were unable to hit it last service year, I strongly believe that with our treasurer, our Fundraising Committee, and all of you guys, we will be able to raise five digits for charities. I hope that as a club this year, we will be able to reach new heights and I cannot wait to see what we accomplish this service year.

I hope you guys had fun this service year and that I made it a bit more rewarding for you guys! I hope all you freshmen stay dedicated, attend events, and learn to grow because Key Club will bring you new experiences and challenges. All of you make Key Club what it is and I'm glad that there's so many dedicated members who will continuously put effort into this club and bring it to new heights in the future. All of you are AMAZING because all of you are KEY CLUBBERS and even though I'm no longer VP, I look forward to what's to come .

Hi everyone! For those of you who don’t know me, I’m David, your new vice president for the 2019-2020 service year. First, I’d like to thank our amazing previous vice president Penny for all the hard work she put in her service year and all the tips she’s given me to jump start what will hopefully be another successful service year.
Also, I’m proud to say that our previous cabinet was so successful that we all reached 8,000 service hours and raised close to 10,000 dollars! It couldn’t have been possible without the cab and all the members (you guys!). With that said, I’m really excited for the year ahead of us and the possibilities that wait. I look forward to working with the new cab and committees, especially the directors that we interviewed recently! The rest of the cab and I can’t wait to implement new and better changes, like an anonymous feedback form where we can take any and all feedback. Whether it be a tip, concern, proposal, or even just a kind message, feel free to use it when we’re done! Other changes include the revival of Event Evaluations, and additional time for Project Captains to thank them for all their hard work. Let’s all strive to help further the home and family we all love: Key Club. -David

Hey Key Clubbers! I just want to start this farewell by saying that it's been my absolute honor to be able to serve all of you as Stuyvesant Key Club's secretary. I will be the first to admit that I wasn't the best secretary, hours were still updated a bit late, confirmation emails were still sometimes sent on Fridays instead of Thursday, and there were weekends without any service projects. Although I can't change any of that now, I will still like to apologize for all these mistakes. But mistakes aside, I enjoyed every moment I spent serving you guys, whether it's spending my
summer writing hundreds of service letters or awkwardly taking minutes at club meetings, I am grateful to be able to do everything I did and impact everyone for the better (hopefully). At the beginning of this service year, we set our service hour goal to be 8,000 hours and as I mentioned in an earlier club email, WE SURPASSED IT! 8,000 is no small number and IÂ would just like to say thank you for each and every single one of you for your service, you guys don't understand how proud of each and every single one of you <3 Last thing I want to mention is that in case you guys don't know, Pamela will be taking over as our club secretary for the new service year. I hope you guys treat her with positivity and kindness as secretary is a lot of work and definitely not an easy job to do so if there is a mistake in an email or if hours are not updated immediately, please don't be mean about it. I assure you she will do an amazing job and will be a much better secretary than I was. Signing off, Jason

It seemed like just yesterday when I was elected to be treasuerer of the 2018-2019 service year. Justin had done a great job during his year and it was needless to say that I was worried. I was worried that I would fail miserably and a disappointment. After setting a high goal for myself, I jumped right into planning fundraisers. Now with nearly $10,000 raised (we might have surpassed, I have to check), I can say that I wasn’t as much of a disappointment as I thought. But everything that I had accomplished this year was thanks to my amazing fundraising directors, Alan and Vincent, along with my amazing fundraising committee. Our fundraising committee might’ve been small but it was the best, closest, and functional committee StuyKC had had. You guys are my pride and I’m so thankful for every single one of you. There are times where I felt like I have hit rock bottom. When there wasn’t enough signups for a fundraiser, when I was having difficulty balancing school and fundraising while still attending events, when I felt like I was failing as treasurer and wasn’t doing enough. It was then that I decided that I would just try my best and enjoy serving as.

Hello everyone! Here’s my last monthly report for all of y’all! For the month of February, we held a Board Game Fundraiser to help fund for those going to the annual Leadership Training Conference in addition to some being donated to charity. I would like to thank everyone that attended along with my fundraising committee and my directors. They really pulled through and helped buy all the bubble tea and bake all the cakes because I can’t bake. It seems to me that everyone had fun with all the board games despite the bubble tea spillage. At the end of the day we made almost $800! WOW! Now that all the updates are done, I will jump straight to my farewells :’)

I’m so excited to be serving as your club Treasurer for the 2019-2020 service year! The old Cabinet did a great job in taking Key Club to new heights and spreading its initiatives. Though their term is coming to an end, make sure to thank them for all their service and hard work! We are currently in the process of selecting our new Board and we’ll be having a meeting on Friday, April 12th. Our fundraising goal for this service year is $10,000 and though this may sound like an impossibly large number, I have confidence that we’ll be able to reach it :) April is a big month for fundraisers! From April 8th to April 12th, we’ll be having a Barnes & Noble Fundraiser, where a portion of all proceeds with a voucher will be going to support charity. Hopefully you've been seeing all the posters around :D Vouchers can be picked up by the second floor scanners or in Dr. Haber's office (Room 209) and even Barnes & Noble itself, so take this chance to get all your AP books while giving back to the
community! We also have a fundraiser with Bronx Science for Avengers: Endgame over spring break on April 26th, which is really exciting. Come to see the final standoff between Thanos and our favorite remaining Avengers in this final installment and conclusion to twenty-two films in the Marvel Cinematic universe! To round it all up, we have a Chipotle Fundraiser Tuesday, April 30th, right after we get off from the break. I can’t wait to get started! If you have any ideas for future fundraisers you would like to see in action, feel free to message me on Facebook or elsewhere! I hope Key Club has been a great journey for all of you reading so far and that you continue it, thank you for being a part of this amazing family <3

It my pleasure to be serving as Stuyvesant Key Club’s Editor for the 2019-2020! Key Club has taken a big role in my life; these last two service years have helped me find my closest friends. Thank you to the Old Cab for keeping everything intact (EXTREME thanks to Freya Zhu, Jenna Foo, and Tiffany Zhong for NEVER sending in their cab paras on time - even for this issue. Some things never change :/). I plan on making major changes (as you can see from this issue in comparison to the last) in order to make The Locksmith more appealing. Last year, we transitioned from Google Slides to Canva (a major improvement!!!) and nearly quartered the original length of the Locksmith. This year, while I do plan on making design changes, my main goal is to have The Locksmith become well known among Key Clubbers. A lot of us are guilty of never reading issues that we put our blood, sweat, and tears into and I plan on increasing readership.
(P.S. If you read this far please angry react the Facebook post ;). You’ll be on Santa’s good list). I’ll also try to have The Locksmith out by the second Sunday of each month (but no promises :>) Now please take the time to bid farewell to the Old Cabbages and welcome in the New IKEYA Cab! Onto another AMAZING service year ~Rachel Joh

I hope you all are doing swell and enjoying the influx of warm weather. First off I would like to thank all of you guys for making the community a better place with your help and dedication to this club. It was amazing seeing the growth of the club through out the service year. When I first joined the cab we had set goals that were barely imaginable, however my doubts were soon proven wrong. Key Club is composed of the most passionate and hardworking people I've met. I mean who else would wake up at 4AM on the weekends to volunteer at events, regardless of the treacherous weekend train delays. I have faith that the incoming cab will do an amazing job! I hope that this club will continue to foster a community spirit for anyone searching for a family. Thank you for making the 18-19 service year a spiffy one. Love, Tiffany Zhong

I’m Jackson Ngo and I’ll be serving as your webmaster for the new service year. I want to start off by thanking the immediate past cabinet members who have done so much to make the last service year the best that it could be. They have the set the bar high! One of the biggest changes coming to Stuyvesant Key Club this year is the merging of the public relations committee and the web and video committee into one social media committee that will help spread the word of Key Club far and wide. This new committee will be in charge of making posters in order to advertise our amazing events and fundraisers. They will also play a part in making videos that would promote our core values and initiatives. During April, I plan to create an LTC recap video. For those of you who don’t know, LTC is our annual Leadership Training Conference in Albany help on March 29th to March
31st. This video will be a great way to capture the various memories we made there and introduce LTC to those who haven’t gone. I will also work to update our various new events and fundraisers on the website, including our Avengers Endgame and Chipotle fundraisers. I am super thrilled to be serving you guys, and I promise to work extra hard to meet all of your expectations.

What is Key Club? Most would say it’s a volunteering club; I would say it’s a warm and supportive family. I joined Key Club on a whim in my freshman year, focusing solely on the hours. Slowly, however, Key Club became more and more relevant in my life from attending more events. From Key Club, I've gained so much more than just hours. Through Key Club, I can help the community around us and support causes I believe in. I recently attended the annual Thirst Gala hosted by CCNY and their demonstration was truly powerful- how communities around the world lacked access to clean, safe drinking water was mind blowing, something that we usually take for granted in our daily lives. But this won’t stay the same forever; we are the generation to create change. We are the generation to end the water crisis and so many other problems. To end, I am so proud to be serving as your new treasurer- let’s make the 2019-2020 service year the best one yet.
Thanks for Reading!!
