Happy October, everyone! Congrats on making it through the first month of school. So much has happened in the past couple of weeks, from recruiting new members at the Club/Pub Fair to introducing them to what Key Club is at our Interest Meeting. Apology to anyone that couldn’t hear us clearly during the interest meeting, we had technical difficulties with the microphone :( but don’t worry, the slides were posted in the Facebook group if you’ve missed anything. If there’s something in the slides that need more explanation, feel free to reach out to one of your IKEYA Cabinets or email us at stuyvesantkeyclub@gmail.com. We are officially more than halfway into the service year (as it ends during the last weekend in March) and I am very proud of how far we came and can’t wait to see how much higher we can go now that more of you have joined this amazing family. autumn events are filling up the calendar so be sure to sign up to volunteer at some of those. We will also be giving out UNICEF boxes this month as well as collecting dues for those interested in becoming a member of Key Club International. we all had a lot of fun during the war and field games. We also had our October divisional on the 4th, where we hosted our Taste of Japan fundraiser! It was a huge success, and Evelyn's delicious matcha rice krispies and our onigiri sold well.

Hey everyone! The weather is slowly getting colder so I hope all of you bundled up and stayed warm! We recently had our Interest Meeting in the cafeteria on October 8th, so I hope most of you managed to make it. Unfortunately, our mic wasn’t working so you probably couldn’t hear anything. But don’t worry! We posted our slides on Facebook for all of you to check out, just make sure you use your stuy email when viewing it to get access. Also, we’re definitely going to have our first meeting of the school year soon where we can clarify some more things that was said. our fundraising goal of 15K :) I know we'll hit this soon! In the future, we plan to have our Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF Fundraiser. If you're interested in raising money for the cause during the Halloween season, look out for the UNICEF boxes we'll be distributing at meetings! At the end of October, we'll have our Charity Fair in the cafeteria where you'll get to learn TREASURER more about all the awesome charities VINCENT HUANG that the clubs at Stuy support. You'll be able to help these great causes Heyo Key Clubbers! and participate in fun activities while I hope all of you have been doing also receiving extra credit from well and CONQUERING since the teachers for completing tasks! Lastly, start of the school year! if you didn't know, the first week of School might have started but the November is Key Club week! From fundraising grind never ends! For the November 4th to November 8th, your month of September, we had our chance to show your Key Club spirit Color Wars Fundraiser with Brooklyn like never before through service. If Tech and Francis Lewis and we you're a new Key Clubber, welcome raised $1,221 in total for Kamp to this amazing student-led Kiwanis! I want to give a big thank organization and I hope you stick you to everyone who attended! We around :D That's all for today, hope also had our Taste of Japan to see you around at events and Fundraiser at our October Divisional, fundraisers!Yours in service, where we raised $124.50 selling Vincent Huang sushi and onigiri, as well as Treasurer of Stuyvesant Key Club Japanese-inspired desserts. Hi Key Clubbers! Woah I can’t believe it’s already October! The service year is in full swing and there’s lot of events coming your way. I plan to be revising the website more in the coming months to get it more up-to-date and working on adding meters, a member of the month page, and a Q&A page. Hey Key Clubbers! We made it through our first month of school! Adjusting back to being a student after months of vacationing must be tough but I know you're all doing fine. I'm glad to see that the Key Club grind hasn't stopped either! We held our very successful interest meeting this month and I can't wait to see new faces at events! International Updates Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF
Reach out to any of the board members to receive a box!
For Key Clubbers, Halloween means more than spooky decorations, cool costumes and ghoulish treats. It’s a chance to save lives and have fun—for less than the cost of a bag of Halloween candy. Protect a mother and her future newborns from maternal and neonatal tetanus by supporting The Eliminate Project through Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF.

11/14/19-11/18/19 Key Club Week gives you the opportunity to show your community what Key Club is truly about: service. Each day places an emphasis on service, to promote Key Club within our homes, schools and communities and to make Key Club a household name.
Monday Show your K Show people what Key Club is all about! Spread the word by wearing Key Club gear and publicizing Key Club Week in local stores, your school Web site, community newspapers—even on the radio.
Tuesday Kudos to the key players Personally thank all the Key Club supporters you know—teachers, advisors and other Key players. Write thank-you notes, host an appreciation dinner or do something uniquely your own style to recognize the contributions of these special people.
Wednesday Day to Care Key Club has three preferred charities— UNICEF, March of Dimes and Children’s Miracle Network. Take time to focus on service projects that help support these causes such as making non-slip socks or capes for your local CMN hospital.
Thursday Random Acts of Kindness A smile goes a long way. Spread happiness throughout your school by doing little random acts of kindness such as leaving cards with inspirational messages on every students locker or just simply holding the door for someone else. Challenge every member to complete at least one random act of kindness.

Connect the K's Key Club is the largest high school service organization in the world and is a member of the Kiwanis family. Celebrate the entire family of Kiwanis by getting the whole gang involved. Connect with local Kiwanis, Circle K International, Builders, Kiwanis Kids or Aktion clubs and team up for a joint service project.

Tickets will be sold at 1 for $1 by the entrance of the cafeteria. We will also have baked goods (Halloweenthemed) and drinks for sale during the fair, as well as a general donation box. All proceeds raised will be going to charity! **TEN volunteers are needed to help throughout the duration of the fair. By Vincent Huang Color Wars was a fundraiser I had looked forward to planning ever since first becoming treasurer this past April. I had attended the last two Color Wars and I was so excited to be directly involved in making its comeback along with Brooklyn Tech and Francis Lewis. Overall, through the ups and downs, I can say it was a successful fundraiser. Key Clubbers and nonKey Clubbers alike were able to come together in teams and enjoy their time together, whether it be through ice breakers, scavenger hunts, group activities, or even meal time. With the conclusion of the event, we raised $1,221 for Kamp Kiwanis and it was the perfect fundraiser to mark the mid-year point of the service year. 23

Flushing BID Annual Street Festival By Keyi Guo The Flushing BID Festival was one of the busiest vents I've been to in my volunteering career. It was an annual event where vendors set up their booths and sold items whether it was jewelry, food, or healthcare! A bouncy house was also set up at the event for kids to play. There was even a center stage where different performances took place such as different dances and martial arts. A guest speaker was even moderating a guessing game with prizes like mooncakes.
Though the work I did was largely manual labor, I enjoyed the festival. The volunteer coordinator even provided us with a lunch ticket that I spent on the Ice Cream Factory. When the workload eased down, I was able to walk and view the numerous booths. Overall, my experience at this event was exciting and rewarding.

Before I started Key Club, I was in Red Cross. My reason for joining Red Cross was because my sister was there and also I could get volunteer hours that would help me for college. The hours were the most important thing to me; this was mainly due to the fact that I didn’t know many people in the club other than my sister. There was no one for me to socialize and hangout with since most of the kids there were older than I was. It wasn’t until my friend, who was already in Key Club, told me to join his club instead. I was expecting Key Club to be the same as Red Cross, however I was pleasantly surprised. I still remember the first event I went to: Nami Walk. At that event I was able to recognize new classmates as well as old friends that I haven’t been able to talk to in a long time. Not only has Key Club let me interact with people that I wouldn’t have been able to, but it also has helped me improve my social skills. The people in charge are all really friendly and nice, this allowed me to ask questions easier without being scared. Since I joined Key Club towards the end of last year, I went to many events over the summer. Over this period of time, I meet many incredible people and also got to reconnect with old friends. I can’t wait to meet new people and have more amazing experiences in Stuyvesant Key Club.
