Back to childhood I spent the whole day watching the tv series ‘Hi My Sweetheart”. Watching the 14 episodes in 1 day. Here’s a description of it from wikipedia :P Xue Hai was a certifiable dork when he first arrived in Hangzhou. After his schoolmate Bao Zhu saved him from bullying, she became his first love. Then, a misunderstanding caused them to lose contact when she moved back to Taiwan. He thought she dumped him. So he transformed himself from a dork to a hunk in order to seek revenge. Xue Hai, when he goes to hangzhou to study, has a new identity, lin da lung, as his family are rich and doesn’t want him to reveal it incase he gets robbed/attacked etc. He's a dork because of his sister doing everything for him so he moves to hangzhou... I love ling da lung (da lung is taken from his fav cartoon the pink panther, which the song goes *da lung, da lung, da lung*). He has no friends at University, except from his housemates and gf. This got me thinking, as it reminded me of what i read in the interview with garance dore, in which she has so much clothes that she only wears 5% of her clothes. When he transforms into someone incredibly ‘hot’, I don't like it. I don't like the fashion. I prefer his hidden identity as he dresses bold, which reflects his mentality (a kid) wearing smart tailored shorts, clashing with patterns and colors, bow ties and braces, and the black framed glasses. The mushroom haircut is awesome. What he wears reflects who he is as person, which makes one stylish. A typical example is Mary Kate & Ashley, they adopt trends, but they wear what they think is right for them, they aren’t fashion followers, they are fashion leaders Speaking of lin da lung, the concept of his character reminds me of the Japanese brand Mercibeaucoup. Mercibeaucoup clothes are known for being cute, playful yet AWES ME
