Tell us, what does beauty mean to you?

In my eyes, beauty represents a feeling more than it does an appearance. True beauty lies within and is underpinned by feeling good in your own skin and honouring your body well by taking good care of it. I love seeing women embrace growing older and taking the time to appreciate themselves in all stages of life. Ultimately, I feel beauty radiates from a kind heart and an open soul.

Do you follow a strict beauty routine?

Good genes have blessed me (thanks to my mama), and my beauty routine is fairly straightforward –healthy, organic, and natural choices, good sleep, keeping hydrated, daily movement, and never a day without lots of laughter. I don’t believe in being too strict, because where’s the fun in that?

Beauty products you can’t live without: I love sampling new ranges and have quite a collection of beauty products I’ve discovered and loved. But of course, there are some firm favourites I return to time and time again. I adore: It’s All Fluff Face Oil #2, Mecca Cosmetica Restoring Retinol Serum, Dr Barbara Sturm Face Cream & Night Cream, iS Clinical Eye Complex, and Biologi Hydra Calm Bio-Cellulose Mask.

What does your beauty diary look like?

My beauty diary is actually quite uncomplicated and holistic and begins on the inside with a nutritious breakfast and some morning exercise. Otherwise, a great cleanser and day cream is enough to set me up on most days, and I generally wear very minimal makeup unless doing a photoshoot. I love a good exfoliation and hydrating mask too and always remember to hydrate my skin with a night cream and eye treatment before hopping into bed for beauty sleep.

Your proudest beauty feature?

While many women spend years and a fortune denying grey hair, I’m proud of my naturally silver hair and often get asked if it’s coloured this way. The day I chose to stop dying my hair and fully embrace silver in my early 40s was a liberating moment, and I’ve never looked back. My silver hair is a reminder of my strength and wisdom, and I love the way it looks.

Best beauty advice you’ve ever received?

Growing up, my mother always told me beauty began with a smile, and I still practice that today. No matter what brand of creams you put on your face or what shade of blush you highlight your cheekbones with, when you smile broadly enough that your eyes join in the party, then that’s beautiful.
